You woke up as you heard a noise. At first you didn't open your eyes. You were so tired that it felt like your eyes were glued shut.

You felt something twitch a little besides you. You opened your eyes with a lot of effort to find your boyfriend, Bucky, besides you. He was restless.

'Bucky?' You asked.

He didn't respond. You turned to him. His body was moving and twitching. He was sweating and breathing heavily.

He told you about his nightmares. You weren't dating for that long. You had never actually been there before when he had a nightmare.

You had no idea what to do. Seeing him that restless.. you needed to try to wake him up.

'Buck..' You said while you pushed his shoulder.

He didn't even come close to waking up. It only got worse. He started to groan and say stuff you could hardly understand.

'James.' You said a little louder

You sat up more and shook his shoulder again. His eyes suddenly opened while his metal arm grabbed you by the throat. Your body immediately went into panic mode and you grabbed his wrist with your hands.

You stared into his eyes, trying to remain calm as his metal arm blocked your airway. Your eyes were huge and he could see you were scared.

'Its.. me... let me.. go.' You managed to say.

Bucky quickly let you go. You gasped for air as you body collapsed on the bed. He pushed the sheets off him and walked all the way to the corner of his room.

'Its okay!' You said in between coughs. 'Please come back.'

'No. No no! I promised I'd never hurt you!' He almost yelled.

'You couldn't help it! I'm fine. Honey, please. Come to me.'

He looked at you. He was still breathing heavily. You slowly sat yourself down in the bed and looked at him.

'I can't. I can't, Y/N.' He choked.

His reaction really scared him. He was afraid that he was going to do this to you more often during the nights. You slowly got up from the bed.

'Dont.' He said.

'Bucky..'

'I said don't!' He yelled at you.

He had never screamed at you before. You looked at him in a bit of shock and sat down on the bed.

'I-I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to- I-' He He starting to panic. 'I'm ruining everything!'

He then left the room and the door slammed behind him. You slowly moved back onto the bed. You just wanted to be there for him but he was completely shutting you out.

You stared at the bedsheets and nervously played with them. You didn't want to get emotional. He probably didn't mean to scream at you.

The door opened again. Bucky walked in, still panicked. You looked at him and weren't sure what to say.

'Doll, I'm sorry. I'm so incredibly sorry. I didn't mean to scream at you or choke you. I couldn't help it. Please don't leave.'

'Babe.' You said. 'Please come here.'

'I-'

'No. You can. I trust you.'

Bucky walked back over to the bed. You climbed back onto it and reached your hand out to him. He slowly grabbed it while you pulled him besides you. As soon as he sat down you gave him a hug. Bucky wrapped his arms around you and laid you two down on the bed.

His entire body was cold from the sweat but you didn't care. You were glad he finally found his comfort with you.

'I'm sorry.'  He mumbled.

'I know. Its alright. I forgive you. It wasn't impulse reaction to your dream. Not to me.'

He held you tightly. He was never going to get that image of him choking you out of his head.

'Talk to me. What happened in your dream?'

'Just me being the wintersoldier again. Killing people. You woke me up right before I was about to attack someone.'

'That's not you. Not anymore. I know it's hard but we will continue to work on it. I promise.'

You ran your hand through his hair before moving yourself back to kiss him. He kissed you back right away and held you tightly.

'Go take a shower. Fresh up. I'll be waiting here.'

'Okay, doll.'

You kissed him again before he got up and left. You got up and started taking all the sheets of the bed to started putting new and fresh sheets on the bed. You even changed the pillow cases and put a bit of your perfume on his to maybe calm him down.

The door opened and Bucky walked in. He was only wearing some new sweatpants. You smiled at him.

'I freshened up the bed.'

You walked over to him.

'Thanks doll, for everything.'

'I love you, you know that. I'd do anything for you.'

Bucky smiled back at you before kissing you.

'I love you too.'

You grabbed his hand and took him back to bed. You pulled the sheets over you two. He laid down on his pillow and a massive smile appeared on his face.

'What?' You asked.

'It smells like you.'

You snuggled into him and wrapped an arm around you.

'Goodnight doll.'

'Goodnight Buck.'

You closed your eyes. Bucky watched you slowly fall asleep besides him. He was incredibly lucky to have you..
