~We looked at each other a little too long to be just friends~

Matt's dream
It was a very hot summer day. Matt was exhausted. He was going back to Wammy's house. While he was walking down the street he heard a horrifying scream, which gave him the creeps.

"ZOMBIES!" a girl screamed and held her neck.
"What happened?" Matt asked curiously.
"The zombies were stumbling and staggering towards me. Their tilted heads moved and one of them bit me!!! I don't wanna become one of them," the girl answered while crying and suddenly disappeared.

'I can fight!' Matt thought as he grabbed a bat out of nowhere. Everything was like a game. He put on his goggles and killed a few zombies, then started running as fast as he could.

'Mello, I hope everything is okay with you,' he thought.
Eventually he reached Wammy's house, went straight to their shared room and Mello was there, listening to music.

"Mello! Thank god nothing bad has happened to you. We have to go, now!"

"Wait Matt. I'm so happy that you're finally here. I missed you so much, despite the fact that you were only at the supermarket to buy me some chocolate. I love you," Mello said in an angelic voice and kissed Matt's lips. Matt blushed and kissed him back. Then they kissed each other with more passion and Mello took off Matt's T-shirt.

Just then the sound of Matt's alarm went off.
Matt woke up and turned the alarm off. Only then he realized that it was all just a dream. Matt was super tired although he didn't play video games at night. Dark circles were visible under his green eyes.

He glanced at Mello's bed, but it was empty. Where was he? Matt quickly got up and dressed.
'Classes haven't started yet. Maybe he's at the library...' Matt thought while he was walking down the hall with his goggles in the left hand.

Matt was right. Mello was sitting in the library reading something.
"Oh hey Matt".

"Hii. What are you doing here? It's only 7 am."

"Just revising for today's test. Didn't want to wake you up, that's why I came here"

Matt remembered his dream again. It was so vivid and realistic. But what did it actually mean? Matt has always felt different with Mello. Is he really falling in love with his best friend? He's never felt like this before.

'Mello is my best friend, we cannot be together...' he thought.
They've been best friends for such a long time. They were always together, almost inseparable. They would always protect each other no matter what.

While Matt was overthinking and daydreaming Mello secretly stared into Matt's beautiful green eyes and got lost in them.
One thing Mello knew for sure. He's in love. He fell in love nearly a year ago, but never dared to say anything to Matt.
'He considers me his best friend. How am I going to tell him about my feelings? And he's definitely into girls... Seriously how am I gonna come out? "Oh hey Matt. I think I'm bi, also I love you!" Oh my gosh, I'm so stupid ughhhh' Mello thought and punched himself.

"What's wrong, Mels?"
"Oh uhmmm, nothing... Just worried about the test."
"No need to worry. You're great at biology."

~Later that day at the cafeteria~

"Matt...!" Mello waved and ran towards him, "I did it! The test was super easy. And I'm sooo hungry."

"Great job! Ughhh, look who's coming"

Mello looked at the direction Matt was pointing to. It was Near. He was holding a plateful of soup.

"Matt do you have some pop corn? The show is just beginning," Mello said and started walking towards Near.

"Mello no!!" Matt tried to stop him but it was too late.

"Ohhh, let's see. And where is Near the fucking sheep going?"

"What do you want?" Near asked in a low voice.

"This," Mello said as he took the bowl and poured the hot soup right onto Near's head.

Everyone at the cafeteria was looking at Near. Some of them even laughed, but Near didn't even make a sound, he never changed his expression. He took a napkin and got out of the cafeteria.

"Mello why did you do that?!"
"I dunno... he's so annoying, I hate him"
"Mello you can't do things like that to people, even if you hate them. He didn't do anything to you" Matt said. He sounded very disappointed.

10 minutes later a teacher came towards Mello.
"You're coming with me"
"Shit" Mello mumbled and stood up. He followed her along the corridor to Roger's office.
