[Mallory POV]

As the days went by, I got closer with Adrien's friends, besides the blonde brat, and the boy I met in the boys' bathroom, Evan, and got really into writing in my Chat Noir journal.

I wrote about how cold and cruel Father was.

How much of a brat Chloe was and how bad I feel for Sabrina.

How much I simply HATE Lila.

How kind and understanding Ms. Sancoeur was.

How kind, naïve, and fun Adrien was and our talks about him being Chat Noir.

How cool and kind Nino was and his DJing gigs.

How confident and stubborn Alya was and her updates on the LadyBlog.

How Marinette has a HUGE crush on Adrien, but is trying to deny it.

How chill and funny Evan was.

And how I'm enjoying myself and my life, my family, and my friends.

I was writing about getting ice cream with the girls on my bed when Adrien walked in.

I spotted Plagg fly out of Adrien's jacket and sit on his shoulder.

Cute!!

"What do you need, Adrien?" I asked him as I put my journal in one of my desk drawers and locked it.

Adrien shifted from one foot to the other, staring the at floor.

"I was wondering if I could join you and the girls-"

"Alya told me that only girls could join," I told Adrien.

Adrien looked at me with sad cat eyes.

I sighed.

"What if you walk with me to Luka and Juleka's house boat and I drop you off there?" I asked him.

Adrien's eyes lit up.

"That sounds great!!!" he exclaimed excitedly. "Thank you, Mal!!!"

I rolled my eyes with a barely visible smile on my face.

"No problem. That's what family's for."

Plagg rolled his eyes.

"Just make sure to pack me some camembert before you leave," he told Adrien.

Me and Adrien rolled our eyes.

I walked with Adrien beside me to Luka and Juleka's house boat.

"What are you trying to get out of this time?" I asked him, facing forward.

Adrien chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his neck.

"A photoshoot with Lila," he told me.

A smirk crossed my face.

That lying brat just got stood up by her 'muse'.

A chuckle escaped my lips and Adrien looked at me in surprise.

My eyes widened and I covered my mouth.

"Did you just laugh?" Adrien asked me.

I quickly shook my head.

"Because I heard a chuckle!!" Adrien teased me.

I glared at him and smacked his arm.

Adrien laughed and I quickened my pace. Adrien jogged after me to catch up.

We got to Luka and Juleka's house boat and walked inside.

Everyone greeted us, but were confused why Adrien was with me.

I glanced at Luka and he understood.

"What's Adrien doing here?" Alya asked me just as Marinette walked in with cookies.

Her eyes widened and she tripped over a box, falling to the ground and spilling the cookies onto the floor.

Adrien instantly started helping Marinette, which made her face turn bright red.

I rolled my eyes.

"Adrien's here to hang out with Luka," I told Alya and the girls, interrupting their fangirling. They just nodded their heads, still looking at 'Adrienette' as they call it.

I glanced at Luka, who was smiling sadly at Marinette and Adrien.

I knew that Luka liked Marinette, that was obvious. I felt bad for him. Maybe he can find that special someone one day. BUT IT AIN'T TODAY!!!!

I grabbed the tray of fallen cookies, threw them away, and dragged Marinette away from Adrien with the rest of the girls following.

"What's up with you?" Alya asked me.

"I just wanted to get ice cream with my friends!!! Instead, Marinette went clumsy on us and we had to wait longer than I wanted because of a certain someone!!!" I complained.

Marinette's face turned bright red while everyone else laughed.

"Me and Adrien are just friends!!!!" Marinette shouted at us.

I rolled my eyes.

"Right..."

I spotted Andre the ice cream man giving a couple an ice cream cone and walked towards him.

"Sup, Andre!!" I greeted him.

"Aw!!! It's my favorite girls!!!" Andre exclaimed excitedly. "I'm guessing you all want ice cream, yes?"

We all nodded.

"Maybe some ice cream will cool down Marinette's embarrassment," Alix whispered to us.

Everyone around me laughed while Marinette's face turned bright red again, glaring at us.

I smirked at her.

"I mean, she's not wrong!!" I said, making everyone laugh harder and Marinette's face to get brighter.

Andre handed everyone their ice cream and finally handed me mine.

Ice cream was one of the only human foods I enjoy eating and actually has taste.

I walked along the group of girls, eating my ice cream.

"FREEZE!!!!"

A beam of pale blue light blasted in front of me, making me cover my eyes from the brilliant light.

When I opened my eyes, I gasped in shock.

Alix, Alya, and Juleka were frozen in blocks of ice.

"ALYA!!!!" Marinette exclaimed in fear.

"JULEKA!!!! ALIX!!!!" Rose exclaimed, tears in her eyes.

Everyone else looked frightened and shocked.

I rolled my eyes.

You guys should be used to this by now.

I sensed movement behind us and tackled Marinette and Rose to the ground as another beam hit Mylene, freezing her.

"How did you...?" Marinette trailed off, staring at me in astonishment.

I quickly brushed it off and stood up with Marinette and Rose. I grabbed their hands and dragged them into an empty alleyway.

"Stay put and stay out of sight," I told them and ran out to the akuma, Marinette and Rose shouting after me.

Stupid Father and his stupid akumas interrupting my friend time!!!!

I clenched my teeth together as I faced Father's akuma.

The usual butterfly symbol appeared in front of the akuma's face, signaling that Father was talking to him.

Probably telling the akuma to leave me-

The akuma started blasting at me.

I dodged all of his attempts and hid behind a pillar.

Nevermind.

I looked around and couldn't find anything to use defend myself.

I growled.

If only Ms. Sancoeur had given me powers to defend myself!!!!

I guess that would've been smart.

My eyes widened and I looked around to find the source of that familiar voice.

It's me, Mayura.

Oh...

Anyway, I'm here to give you powers to defend yourself and Adrien.

What makes you think that Adrien's with me?

Because he's not in his room and he's very fond of you.

My eyes widened in shock.

Why would he be fond of me...?

Master sighed.

I wish I could tell you, but that's Adrien's job.

I rolled my eyes.

What are my new powers exactly?

A peacock symbol in front of my face that I didn't notice before disappeared and I stood.

I spotted a metal bar a distance away and held out my hand, focusing on it. It swiftly came to my hand and I caught it easily.

I grinned and stepped out from behind the pillar only to dodge something black flying towards me.

BANG!!

I turned around to see Adrien- I mean Chat Noir- I mean... my stupid brother rubbing his back in pain.

I chuckled and walked towards him.

Chat Noir spotted me and his eyes widened.

"What are you doing here?!" he asked, standing up.

He grabbed my hand and dragged me into an alleyway.

When he stopped, I ripped my hand from his grip.

"Andre was here and that's the whole reason me and the girls were hanging out," I told him.

Chat Noir looked around.

"Where's everyone else?" he asked me in confusion.

"Alix, Alya, Juleka, and Mylene were frozen by the akuma and I hid Marinette and Rose in an alleyway," I told him.

I saw him visibly relax when he heard that Marinette was safe and I smirked.

"Stay here and stay safe," he told me and jumped away to fight the akuma.

I sighed and leaned against the wall of a building.

If only I could help...

I shrugged and sat down.
