"Hey y'all." My shift ended and I made my way out to the lounge area, Urban pulling me to sit with them. "Enjoy the show?"
"Damn near emptied my bank account for you." Jack said that shit with such a straight face, even when Druski fell into him laughing. "I'm serious, baby. I woulda been right back at Chick-Fil-A for you."
"Well, thank you." I was in a sweatsuit, a very comfortable one at that. I only had one bag since I'm not working the night shift, which is when the ones willing to lose their assets usually come in. "I appreciate that?"
"This is exactly why I'm riding in the back with her. Sick of this flirtin shit." Where the hell they takin me? "Come on."
"Where we goin?" I gave Tony a hug on the way out as he was coming in to clock in. He looked a little sad when he saw me leaving, but that's probably because our schedules barely overlap anymore.
"To eat."
"I feel like the younger sibling." I'm not short, don't get me wrong. But you know how sometimes when you scoot all the way back in a restaurant booth and yo feet don't touch the ground? Yeah, so I was kickin my feet. "This is brazy, I have scary dog privileges now."
"Wasn't Tony yo scary dog?"
"Yeah, until he moved from the building." Tony used to live across the hall from me, and he was the main reason why I started working those late nights. Like, I felt untouchable with Tony walking around with me. "And now I have you guys until you go off to live your lives."
"All right." The waiter brought out our drinks and took our order, Urban turning to me with a scrunched face. "Jack wants you in this video."
"Aw, so when you thought of sexy I came to mind?"
"No." Way to knock a bitch down, Urb. "But it's his video and he wants to know if you-"
"Okay." I shrugged, taking a sip of my Mountain Dew. "Not like I got anything else to do."
"You listened to the song I sent, right?" My mouth dropped and I leaned around Urban to look at Jack.
"Ain't that song lowkey but highkey about sex?" He choked on his drink and Urban groaned. "I mean, I'll still be in the video. But I've been questioning that since I paid attention to the whole song."
"The other one." Urban took out his phone to show me the first song he had sent and I nodded.
"Girl you and yo little celebrity crush on Bryson needa disappear. Give my man Jack a chance." Druski said as he pat my back. Thank god I'm a black woman, because my damn face would be so red.
Give Jack a chance? I'm TRYING TO GIVE HIM A CHANCE! Urb ass always blockin shots and shit.
"It's not a crush, the man can sing and I happen to like harmonies." I defended myself, turning to Urban. "Speaking of crushes, Yana said you need to call her soon or y'all not gon' be talkin no more."
"I'll stay over at her place tonight, no worries."
"Sleepover?" Urban couldn't even say no, because he's gonna be too busy gettin it in with Yana to worry about us hanging out. He just rolled his eyes. My sixth sense tingled and I started making room on the table, the waiter coming over with our food.
"Man, carry me. I'm too tired." Phae pouted as she held her arms up, Jack pushing Urban out of the way and picking her up out of the car.
"If you don't wanna be a gentleman, I'll be the gentleman."
"Well what if I wanted to carry her?"
"Ain't you leavin?" Phae yawned, peeking over Jack's shoulder and at Druski.
"So?" She laughed and told him to drive safe as they made their way upstairs, Yana waiting for them on their floor.
"Uhp, white man. Not tonight." Yana pointed at Jack, pushing open Phae's door for him. "Wait til she get energy."
"No, keep it in yo pants." Urban said before being dragged into Yana's apartment, Jack shaking his head and going into Phae's.
"You can set me down onna couch." Phae mumbled, Jack following her instructions as he looked around. "Don't be all proper and shit, you can look around. I'll find a movie and stuff."
He hummed, taking his time with walking around her apartment. She had a spare bedroom and bathroom, which held clothes that obviously belonged to Urban. He trailed behind her when she went towards the kitchen, which looked absolutely amazing.
"What's it like going on tours?" She had hopped up on the counter as she waited for the popcorn to pop, Jack's head poking out of her pantry at her question.
"It's cool. Could be overwhelming sometimes." Phae nodded, watching him go back to admiring her pantry. "Everything so organized and shit."
"Makes it easier to find things." She jumped off the counter, walking over and pointing at a sheet of paper. "This is so guests know what's in here."
"Damn, it don't even look like that much."
"Urban said the same thing. You just gotta pay attention to everything at once." Her pantry was filled from top to bottom with snacks and food items. He nodded, the two of them exiting the pantry as he opened her fridge and freezer.
"You got OCD?"
"Nope." Jack's brows furrowed a bit as he looked at the clearly color coordinated fridge and freezer, moving to switch two things around. "Don't do that."
Phae grabbed his arm, pulling it down and taking the drink from him before placing it back in its spot. She closed the doors, taking a deep breath before heading over to the microwave to get the popcorn out.

"So....how does your system work?" He could feel her eyes on him when he opened the fridge again, glancing over his shoulder and meeting her gaze. "What happens if you use one?"
"They're stored in a line." She said, watching as he moved the same drink again. She released a breath when he put it back in place and closed the fridge, smiling at him and holding up the bowl of popcorn. "You can take another snack from the pantry if you want."
"You got a pretty smile, Phae." He mumbled, Phae freezing for a second. She nodded, adverting her eyes to the bowl as she thought over something.
"So do you."
