Cara couldn't believe it. Dylan wasn't in his thirties! He was 22! But, he had lied, and she knew that she needed to focus on not important things like getting revenge for the deaths of Damon and Alex. because frankly that was why she was here. Forget about morals and good Samaritans, she was fighting because the two people she loved with all her heart had died, all because of these people. That's why she was here.

Maybe she was so distracted by Dylan because he reminded her of Damon. Damon had had more of a baby face but Dylan had that dark hair and blue eyes thing just like Damon had. And she liked that, she also liked blondes, like Luke for example.

Luke had nice hair, so long and thick. She wanted to run her hands through Luke's hair...

No. No she didn't. She definitely did not want to do that. God, had she lost her mind? Why was she thinking about BOYS in a serious time like this?

She should be thinking of saving the world from this evil that was corrupting the minds of billions and promoting a higher set of people. The people in this city were the higher race of people, they were treated better than everyone else. After three days she could see that. They are three hot meals a day and each one was selected by them. Yesterday she was given the choice of an all day breakfast consisting of bacon, sausages, scrambled egg...everything or lasagne. She had a CHOICE. Before this she'd never had the opportunity to decide what she wanted - that was wrong. She should have been able to make the decisions she wanted to make, not have them made for her.

She wanted choices. But for everyone, it was hard to get her head around, really. She had been so used to hating perfect equality and the need for everyone to lead identical, boring lives but now she was fighting against inequality and the idea that one specific group of people were 'better' but she didn't want the equality that the Communities had; she wanted an equality were there was no prejudice but where people still had minds of their own.

She wanted the best of both worlds.

It was what the people deserved.

He knew it.

Michael Clifford was always right.

He'd known it all along! He had sensed something fishy about that Dylan and hey presto! He wasn't even called Dylan. He was now praying that Cacey would turn out to be an ugly person with scars or something else Cara might find repulsive so she could keep her mind on the task.

But he couldn't deny the fact that Cacey was a good person, he'd admitted to lying to them to ensure that Cara didn't get distracted. But he hadn't said: "So Cara doesn't get distracted by my good looks." He'd said: "So Cara doesn't get distracted by Dylan's good looks."

Cacey was pretending to be Dylan, he wasn't living as Dylan, he was merely occupying the pseudonym, it was just a new name and face to him, it wasn't a new him.

Michael respected that about him.

But he still disliked him for the way he managed to string Cara along lying the whole time.

But Elijah hadn't stopped him.

Elijah had ordered it.

At least, that's what Cacey said.
