*CALLING ALEX*

"Hello?"

"Hey! I was wondering when you're gonna show up."

"I'm sorry Ry but... I can't be your date. I'm still in Southeast Asia. My flight to the US got cancelled."

"You promised!"

"Please forgive me, Mary-"

*CALL ENDED*

Mary's POV

I look down at the view of the whole parking lot, feeling my heart tear apart inside my chest. How could he? For a second there I thought he'd learn about the first but I guess he didn't.

Tears begin to brim and my face winces in pain. My hand clenching on the bodice of my gown. "Fuck you, Alexander Zakhaev." I mutter under my breath and throw my lilac corsage out in the open window. "I wish I never met you."

"Glad I brought another one then."

I jumped. Was it real or was it just an echo from my mind. His voice sounds even hotter in person. There's no static, just pure melody.

Turning around, I expect to see a man in a tuxedo, a boutonniere on his chest pocket. But no. He only wears an outfit, all pure black. The only thing I could see are his big brown eyes.

He raises a white corsage of roses from his side. "Do you need another one, milady?"

I was frozen, like a statue staring back into nothing. I'm oblivious if I should believe this is a dream or not.

He's five inches taller than me. He also has a matte black backpack on his back.

He looks exactly like Alan Walker, I thought cynically. Except he's more handsome.

His eyes bore down to my outfit as he shakes his head. I can see a smug smile appearing behind that mask. "You're so beautiful, Mary."

I scoffed, feeling aroused. My blood begins to boil hotter than it was before. I could feel warmth creeping across my cheeks and I regret not wearing enough makeup to cover them up.

"So this is you?" I sigh heavily, taking a step forward. But he takes a step backward. "What's wrong?"

"Not yet." He tosses the corsage and I catch it effortlessly.

"'Not yet' what, Alex?" I took five more steps and was able to stop him from stepping backwards more. His arm feels hard, and I could feel the muscles behind the black fleece. "Why are you avoiding me?"

He yanks his arm back as though I've gone insane. "You can't see my face yet. It's too soon."

"What're you doing here then?" I almost spat. "Tell me, Alex." I pressed closer and cupped his covered cheek. He tips his head and accepts my palm's embrace. "Is this really the only limit to our love?"

I thought he'd turn his back against me and leave. But- "No." He pulls me close by the waist before touching our foreheads together.

I took the opportunity to unmask him, and this time he doesn't hesitate. He pulls himself to me and I try to indulge in his minty flavor. His lips are soft and wet, almost like I was kissing jelly.

I close my eyes but I feel him pull apart. "I love you." He says, breathing so hot that they brush against my face like winds from the desert. "But I have to go, I still need to finish something." He kisses me again and the power cuts out, leaving me blind in the darkness.

I hear the groans from the party downstairs and the vanishing of his touch brushing away from my waist. "Alex wait!"

The power returned, and I'm left nothing but the taste of his lips and the white corsage. His taste is still fresh in my mind, in my mouth, as though he's still kissing me.
