I stumbled out of the dugout floating on cloud nine. Not only had Kevin Kiermaier kissed me, twice, but he had also told me that he loved me. I approached the bullpen bench to find Minnie, in Jeff's sweatshirt, still talking to him. She turned around when I tapped her and her eyes lit up. She looked me up and down, and grinned from ear to ear. I wondered what could've possibly made her so happy. "What?" I asked.

"You did something with Kevin!" She squealed. My mouth dropped open. "How did you..." Minnie handed me her compact mirror. "Your hair's a mess and your lipgloss is smeared," she pointed out. Jeff, who had now turned to face us, snickered. I blushed profusely. "He kissed me!" I squealed, having a fangirl moment. Minnie and Jeff turned to look at each other, eyes wide. "NO WAY GIRL HE DIDN'T!" She pulled me down onto the bench and demanded that I tell her everything. I did, and afterwards, she demanded that Kevin tell her everything.

"KEVINNN I HEARD WHAT HAPPENED!!!" She yelled, trying to get him to come over. She had yelled so loud, the ball boy turned to look at us. Finally, Kevin did come over, reluctantly. He took his hat off, running a hand through his closely-cropped brown hair. "Yeah, so I did that, what's the big deal?" His eyes locked with mine. Minnie screamed. "WHATS THE BIG DEAL?! YOU KISSED MY BEST FRIEND THATS A BIG DEAL!" By now, we had caught the attention of Wil, who sauntered over to us from center field.

"What's goin' on over here?" He questioned sleepily. Minnie, who obviously couldn't keep her big mouth shut, filled Wil in on everything. He blinked at her a couple times, then turned to Kevin, his eyes wide open for once. "DUDE!" Wil shouted with as much emotion as I'd ever seen him give. Kevin's face turned red. "Guys I didn't mean for it to be such a big deal..." He looked down at his cleats. "Casey is just... A really awesome person, and I, uh--"

"MYERS! KIERMAIER! GET BACK TO YOUR POSITIONS!" An angry voice called to us. We all turned to look at the red-faced umpire who was motioning for them to walk away from us. "Well, see ya." Wil jogged off. Kevin wordlessly followed.

I pulled my phone out, not in the mood to watch Kevin right now. I turned away from Jeff and Minnie, who were talking quietly. I opened up Twitter, planning on posting a selfie Minnie and I took earlier. But something caught my eye in my feed. 'So there's these 2 girls on the field and they're talking to @KKiermaier39 about kissing... #what #luckyyy' I groaned as I scrolled down further, to find a picture from about a minute ago, of Kevin and Wil talking to us.

I felt Minnie's chin on my shoulder. "Whatcha-- Oh." She grabbed my phone, scrolling through my feed, groaning. "Casey what are we gonna do? Now everyone's gonna know about what happened!" My eyebrows furrowed and I turned to face her. "Who was the one yelling to everyone about the whole thing?! You! Who blabbed to Wil and to the pitchers and probably half the fans in this stadium?! You!" Minnie shrunk back, scooting closer to Jeff. "Jeez, C-Casey, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to cause such a problem..."

I stood up. "Yeah well ya did and now the world's gonna know about how I kissed Kevin Kiermaier and now I'm never gonna get a shot at him and wow, that's just great Minnie. Thanks for ruining my whole relationship!" I was furious. I grabbed my stuff, jumping into the stands and storming out to the entrance. I pushed outside only to find that it had begun to rain again. Awesome.

I put my purse over my head, feebly trying to keep myself dry. I ran down the stairs and out into the parking lot, where puddles lapped at my feet, making my sandals soaked. I had no idea how I was going to get home; certainly not by walking. I figured there had to be a bus stop somewhere around here, and I finally found it, all the way at the other end of the parking lot. The rain had picked up now, as had the wind, and I pushed as hard as I could to run against it.

"Casey! Casey!" Someone called my name. I turned around, searching for someone, anyone in the distance. It was hard to see through the sheets of rain, but nobody was there. I kept running. "Casey! Casey, wait!" I heard it again; it definitely wasn't a hallucination. I turned around again, and spotted somebody, way out by the entrance, waving their arms, moving towards me. I began to run back to the stadium, unsure of who might be waiting for me.

As we both kept running, getting closer to each other, it became easier for me to tell who it was. Kevin. He was still wearing his uniform; his jersey sticking to his skin. "Casey! Casey! Casey!" He yelled my name repeatedly, and I finally came close enough to see his face, worry taking over all his features. We closed the distance, and I arm into his outstretched arms.

He hugged me, insanely tight, not letting me go. Tears filled my eyes, and I began to cry; but it wasn't like you could tell in this monsoon. "Casey... Casey... It's gonna be okay... Casey... Shhhh..." Kevin whispered, keeping his arms around me. This only made me cry harder. "Casey, I don't care what anyone else says. I love you."
