Chapter 3: Home Sweet Home For Babies

"Waaaaah!" Nisaki cried as Nia was putting her clothes on.

"Oh Nisaki, please just let mommy do this. It's time for you and your sister to come home," Nia pleaded.

Naruta also cried as she was in Naruto's baby carrier that was around his body.

"Daddy's angel, it's okay. You're going home, you're going home today," Naruto told her.

Both babies only continued to fuss.

"Naruto, I don't think the baby we have wants us to carry them. Maybe if we switch babies, they'll stop crying," Nia suggested.

"What? Naruta loves her dadd-"

"Waaaaaaah!" Naruta was pushing against Naruto's chest.

Naruto sighed.

Meanwhile, as Nia was holding Nisaki, the baby pushed against her face.

"See what I mean, honeybun? They want us to switch," Nia told her boyfriend.

"All right, all right. Let's switch babies. Anything to get them to stop crying, ya know," Naruto took Naruta out of his carrier and replaced her with Nisaki.

Nia placed Naruta in her own carrier and almost instantly, both babies settled down.

"It seems like Nisaki likes her daddy more," Nia stared.

"Well, Naruta seems to like you more, sweetheart," Naruto replied.

"All right, you guys..." Sakura then came into their hospital room. "Looks like the babies are set to go, as well as Nia."

"Thank you for all you done for me and our little girls," Nia smiled.

Sakura returned the expression.

"No problem. It was such a pleasure to help deliver them. You all are healthy enough to leave, but just remember all the tips we gave you on how to take care of your twins."

"We'll do our best..." Nia turned to Naruto. "Right, Uzumaki?"

"Absolutely!" he nodded.

"Well, okay! I'll come visit you two in the future! Enjoy your new life as parents!" Sakura grinned. "Congratulations!"

"Thank you!" Naruto and Nia grinned also and walked out the room.

Soon, they'd make it out of the hospital and when they made it to the streets of Konoha, all eyes were on them.

"Naruto! You had babies?!" someone was shocked as they saw the couple carrying their twins.

"Yeah! Aren't they cute?!" Naruto grinned brightly.

"Congratulations, you two!" a woman chirped.

The couple thanked her. On their way back home, the two kept getting stopped by the villagers. They were in awe and excited that the hero of the great ninja war had become a father.

"Naruto! Naruto!" some teenagers ran up to the blond with some boxes in wrapping paper. "We want to give this to you! We heard you had twins!"

"Ah, thanks! That's very kind of you," he took the gifts.

It would take the couple almost an hour to get back home due to the amount of people wanting to congratulate or give the blond gifts. When they finally made it home, they took a deep breath.

"Finally... We made it," Naruto set the gifts down in the living room.

To their surprise, both babies were still calm and awake.

"Welcome home, angels!" Naruto yelled with a huge smile on his face.

"This is where you babies live!" Nia chirped.

"Let's take you to your baby swings, ya know!" Naruto grabbed the items and set them in the living room.

He took Nisaki out of his carrier, kissed her cheek, then set her on her swing, slightly pushing it to make it sway. Nia did the same with Naruta. Everything was color coded for the girls so Naruto and Nia would be able to tell the two apart since they were identical. Each baby had butterfly toys above their swings.

With that, Naruto and Nia sat on their couch.

"It still feels like a dream to me," Naruto said, staring at his little girls. "I can't believe I'm a daddy."

"I never dreamt in a billion years I'd be able to find someone to have babies with, especially with someone as amazing as you, Naruto," Nia smiled.

"Oh sweetie..." Naruto wrapped his arm around the girl and kissed her temple.

They watched as the babies waved their arms around and stared at everything around them. They seemed to have taken a particular interest of the butterflies hanging off their swings and tried reaching for them.

Naruto and Nia would converse as they watched their babies, laughing and just enjoying the other's company.

Soon, it would be time for the babies exercise of the day: tummy time.

The parents placed their babies on their stomachs on a comfortable sheet.

"Come on, babies! You can do it! Turn over! Turn over!" Naruto cheered.

"Mommy and daddy are cheering you girls on!" Nia exclaimed. "Do it for us! Make us proud!"

The girls made noises as they struggled lifting their heads and turning over. It seemed like the longer it went on, the more upset they became.

"Oh no! No tears..." Nia tried to soothe them with her voice.

"Nia, do you think they're gonna turn over?" Naruto questioned.

"Well, it's only their first day doing this, so n-"

Suddenly, Naruta turned over.

"AHHHH NARUTAAAA!" Naruto and Nia screamed once they seen this. "YOU TURNED! YOU TURNED!"

"DADDY'S ANGEL! YOU DID IT! YOU DID IT!" Naruto picked her up and kissed her all over her face.

He turned to Nia excitedly.

"I thought you said babies can't turn on their backs the first day!"

"That's what I thought but somehow Naruta did it."

Naruto handed his oldest to Nia and gave his attention back to the struggling Nisaki.

"C'mon, baby! You can do it! You can do it, angel!"

Nisaki did her best, but a few seconds later, it was too much for her and she started crying.

"DADDY'S BABY!" Naruto immediately picked her up, kissed her all over her face, and held her. "It's okay! It's okay! Daddy loves you! Daddy loves you, ya know!"

"Oh Nisaki... it's okay. You'll turn on your back eventually. Mommy and daddy believe in you," Nia said as she held onto Naruta.

Naruto rubbed Nisaki's back until her crying lessened. It was now time for the babies to breastfeed.

Naruto played with Nisaki as Nia started with Naruta. Out of the two girls, Naruta seemed to love milk the most.

Throughout the day, Naruto and Nia spent time with their little ones and eventually, it was time for bed.

"Now angels..." Naruto set them in their cribs, but not before kissing their cheeks. "Don't start crying tonight. Mommy and Daddy are very tired and need to sleep. I know you babies gotta be exhausted too so use this chance to sleep, ya know."

Unfortunately for the new parents, Naruta and Nisaki hardly slept and they made a fuss throughout the night. Naruto and Nia took turns comforting them and Nia stayed up a longer time feeding them. Eventually, it was morning and neither Naruto nor Nia hardly got any sleep.

Their eyes were red and their faces were sunken in a bit.

"Damn..." Naruto yawned. "The babies cried all throughout the night. I barely got any sleep at all, Nia."

"Me neither," Nia wanted to pass out. "I'm so tired, Uzumaki."

Naruto turned his head to see that the babies had finally went to sleep.

"Quick," the blond motioned Nia to bed. "Get in bed! They're finally asleep! Let's get some sleep before they start crying again. We're probably gonna just have to sleep till afternoon."

"Okay!" Nia climbed into bed and snuggled up to her boyfriend.

And thus, the two finally went to sleep... for a few hours.
