Lollie Parker

The whole class was forced to watch the school news. Seeing Riley flub up and Maya laughing at Farkle, the whole thing was a bore, for Lollie anyway.

Lollie not paying much attention to what the trio or anyone was saying she was in her own little world and was hopefully going to keep it that way.

"Who's the greatest ally of the United States?" Mr. Matthews asked as he silently picked on Farkle.

"I'd like to help you, sir, but I got a lot of things on my mind." He said.

"Are you tense, Farkle? Is it Buggie Award season?"

"What?" Lollie questioned.

"Yes, and I know that once I've chosen between Riley and Maya for the dinner, I'll actually be letting the other one go."

"I'll go. I'll go right now." Maya said.

"I think it will be sad when Farkle doesn't love us both the same." Riley said.

"Yes, one of you will be crushed.

You will, however, receive the Farkle home game as a consolation prize." He said.

"Buggy awards?" Lollie continued to question.

"Ooh, what's that?" Riley asked.

"It's this game where the loser goes, "Farkle."" He said.

"So who is the greatest ally of the United States?" Mr. Matthews asked.

"Ask Farkle." Sarah said.

"Canada. You want me to say Canada. You want to explain why or do I have to do everything?" He asked.

"Everything. You love that." Mr. Matthews said.

"Look, I really want one of you at the Buggies with me to pick me up when I lose again to my archnemesis Smackle." He said.

"Smackle? Buggy awards?" Lollie went on.

"What kind of parents name their kid Smackle, Farkle? Oh." Riley said turning her back around.

"It's just interesting that all of our thoughts turn to other allies first when Canada is right next to us.
Perhaps it's because we know they'll always be there for us that we take them for granted." Mr. Matthews said.

"Farkle, I'm going to make the ultimate sacrifice and let you go with Riley."

"Yeah, well, I'm going to make the ultimate sacrifice and let you go with Maya."

"I decide! You hear me? This game is Farkle's choice. Prepare to go through the emotional gauntlet of love." He said.

"Okay." The two said.

"Buggy?" Lollie asked.

"Science awards." Lucas told her.

"See how easy that was."

Lollie and Noah waited by the train station and were about to get on.

"Isn't that Riley over there?" Noah asked.

Lollie turned her head and saw Riley going back and forth with Maya.

"Yeah. Why'd you want to take the train?" Lollie asked.

"It's better than sitting in Mariah's car for two hours waiting for her boyfriend to come out of the school building."

Lollie only nodded.

Farkle saw Lollie standing by the station getting ready to aboard.

She wasn't his last option but if all else fails, she was there. He knew that for sure.

Lollie stood by her locker watching Riley, Maya, and Farkle talking about what happened last night.

"Having fun?" Lucas asked her.

"No."

"Then why are you watching?"

"Something's gonna happen."

Maya walked over towards her locker and pulled out a spider causing Riley to run off.

"An Arizona blonde tarantula." Farkle said walking towards his locker.

"Well, of course."

"You can't do this, Maya!" Riley shouted from the stairs.

"What I love about this species, it's the perfect mate for my orange dancing spider." He said pulling his own spider.

"Yeah."

"This is completely unfair." Riley said.

"Look at these two."

"So vastly different and yet so wonderful together."

"Well, of course."

"They seem to really- She bit his head off! Oh my heaven! She bit his head off!" He shouted.

"Just like our lives are gonna be together."

"I don't understand." Lollie muttered.

"I don't either." Lucas said from behind.

"I can't watch anymore. This is ridiculous, why are they fighting for Farkle anyway? It's his choice remember." Lollie stated.

"Vaguely. Lunch?"

"Lunch."
﹏﹏﹏﹏

Lollie sat on the couch eating popcorn and slightly crying.

A knock on her door causing her to groan and answering it.

"Well don't you look nice?" She told Farkle.

"Thanks."

"You can come in."

Farkle took a step into Lollie's apartment and sat on the couch.

"Do you have any dresses?"

"Yeah, why?"

"I would like to invite you to the buggy awards."

"I'm flattered."

"You don't wanna go do you?"

"I'm honored that you want to take me. Wait five minutes."

"Thanks, Lollie."

The two arrived at the buggy awards just in time to see Jane Lynch on stage.

"Live from the fabulous chanticleer hotel of Weehawken, it's the sixty-seventh annual Buggie awards! And now your host, Miss Jane Lynch!" The announcer said and everyone applauded.

"Ha ha, the Buggies. Yup, I'll host anything. Oh, look at this crowd. My goodness. Jennifer Lawrence, Leo DiCaprio- not here. But look who is here, we've got Milton. Hey, kid. And of course Smackle! You." Jane said pointing towards the girl.

"No no, you, lady." She said pointing back.

"And where is our perennial hopeful? Oh, there he is. Well, I am hoping this is your year, kid. 'Cause I love ya, Farkle." She said causing Lollie to smile.

"Giant lady."

"All right. Let's get to our first award of the evening. Here to present the Buggie for best terrarium design, Liam Hemsworth and Anna Kendrick's science teacher!" Jane announced and everyone clapped.

"I'm glad you came Lollie."

"So am I."

"Well, it's been a giggly fun five hours, hasn't it? Before we get to our final Buggie award this evening, A tribute to those we've lost this year. Ladies and gentlemen, in memoriam." Jane started.

A memoriam for dead bugs.

Jane slowly started to "Swing low, Sweet chariot".

"I'm gonna miss 'em."

"Okay, we're out. Going to commercial." The man said.

"Farkle." The girl from earlier approached.

"Smackle."

"You're Smackle?" Lollie asked.

"Yes, and you are?"

"Winter."

"Nice to meet you, Winter."

"Here we are once again. Hope you didn't waste your time writing a speech." Smackle told Farkle.

As the two went back and forth and Smackle's awkward flirting they finally separated.

"And we're back in three, two, one."

"I will now present the final award of the evening for high achievement in research. And our two finalists are, once again, Smackle of Einstein Academy. Hey, who's your date for this evening, Smackle? Is that handsome gentleman your father?" Jane asked.

"He's my Uncle. Daddy said no." Smackle told her.

"Sure... and of course, Farkle from John Quincy Adams." Jane said.

"Thanks."

Soon enough Riley and Maya walked in.

"Whoa! Three of 'em, huh? Playa!" Jane shouted through the microphone.

Riley and Maya soon approached Farkle and stood behind him.

"Okay, the National Junior Entomology Society is pleased to award the Golden Buggie to Smackle!" Jane said.

Farkle rose to his and Lollie hugged him.

"You did good kid." Lollie whispered in his ear.

"This should be the happiest moment of my life, except these girls of middling intellect are interrupting it." Smackle spoke in the microphone.

"Oh, us? We're Canada." Maya said.

"We're his greatest allies." Riley said.

"He sits right next to us and we'll never take him for granted again." Maya said.

Lollie smiled at the three.

"Oh, Canada we stand on guard for thee!" They sang before walking out but Farkle turned back towards Lollie.

"You wanna come?"

"I had a great time Farkle, but your original choice was Riley or Maya, so go with them."

"Are you sure?"

"Go have fun you, player."

Farkle smiled at Lollie one last time before he hugged her and went on with his other friends.
﹏﹏﹏﹏

Lollie sat at the train station and sat down at the table eating a muffin.

Another muffin landed in front of her.

"I'm good. Thanks anyway." Lollie said with a stuffed mouth.

"Good thing it's for me and not you." Lucas said sitting down.

"Hey." She softly spoke.

Lucas eyed her up and down. Hormones?

"Hey." He smiled, "Why are you all dressed up?"

"I went with Farkle to the buggy awards."

"Did you have fun?"

"I guess so."

"You look very nice." Lucas said.

He almost questioned it, he wanted to say, "oh you look beautiful," or, "oh you looked so lovely."

But he said nice.

She smiled at him, "Thanks. Did my mom tell you something at the diner about me?"

"No, why?"

"Nothing. Just asking."

"Can I walk you home?"

"That would be nice."
