In the course of the two-month break, Lollie re-dyed her hair.

She started to hate it.

Noah became more annoying.

And finally, Mariah brought Jacob to meet everyone.

But with summer over and school beginning the horror was only arising.

"The New World. People who lived their whole lives in a certain place travel to a new land of new feelings and new opportunities." Mr. Matthews said and two heads shot up.

Lollie walked into the classroom and passed Mr. Matthews.

"Lollie."

"Mr. Matthews."

"Late on the first day?"

"What's new."

Lollie took her seat at her desk and Mr. Matthews went on with his lesson, "Having no idea how to behave in this brand new society."

"Lucas, what did you tell him?" Riley asked.

"Nothing, I am also uncomfortable." He said.

"Wait, Mr. Matthews doesn't know Riley kissed Lucas?" Farkle asked.

"No." Maya said.

"Oh, there's so much more." Lollie muttered.

"So everything he says is making them uncomfortable?" Farkle asked.

"Uh-huh."

"Shall we take advantage of this?"

"How could we not?"

"I will begin." Farkle said standing, "So, Mr. Matthews, tell me, after you've had the courage to close your eyes and take the face of the new world in your trembling hands..."

"What are you trying to say, Farkle?" He asked

"Are you supposed to be a couple next?" He asked.

"Or what?"

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

"Oh, you don't understand my question? Perhaps my dear friend Ms. Maya Penelope Hart help me out." Farkle questioned.

"Penelope." Sarah teased.

"Farkle."

"Penelope?" Lucas taunted.

"Really, Huckleberry? You want to play with me right now?" Maya asked.

"No."

"'Cause you've done quite enough, haven't you?" Maya said making a fish face.

"Maya!"

"Mr. Matthews, I think what Farkle is trying to say is once you've kissed..." Maya started.

"Yeep!"

"The shores of this new world I bet your friends from the old world would want to hear about how the new world is, and if you don't tell them, well that's just selfish." She finished.

"What are you trying to say, Penelope?" Mr. Matthews asked.

"Alright, what's going on here, guys?" He continued to ask.

"Nothing! Could we just please, for once, read from the book?" She asked and flipped the book opened.

"The boy and the girl had no idea of the changes they would soon be facing. Everything was different "including their own bodies" What the..." She said.

"You're reading your health book.

"I don't understand. It makes no sense. It looks impossible." Farkle said.

"Riley, what is going on here?" Mr. Matthews asked.

"Farkle kissed my hand." Maya said.

"You did?"

"It was glorious."

"It was. I went home and questioned everything." Farkle said reliving the moment.

"Where were you while all of this hand-kissing was going on?" Mr. Matthews said turning towards Riley.

"Nowhere, with no one doin' nothing with nobody." She said.

"Lollie?"

"You assume I was with them? I wasn't, but I was there to see Farkle kiss Maya's hand."

"I'm glad you saw it, you know I thought I saw you there." Farkle said.

Mr. Matthews took a step towards Lucas and he jumped out of his seat and ran.

"Auggie now." Riley said.

"I don't see where else we can go." Maya said.

"Heard you and Riley were going on a date." Lollie said walking out the building with Lucas.

"I wouldn't call it that."

"Would you call it "Getting my mind of someone." because if it's me I find that rude." Lollie said playing with her hair.

"I don't want to hurt Riley's feeling."

"But you're hurting my feeling in the process."

"How?"

"You're going on this date but you really like me, or so I thought. I mean if you didn't like me you wouldn't have kissed me. Maybe it was a pity kiss because I was crying."

"It wasn't. I like you, honestly."

"Well you've got to figure some stuff out now, don't you Friar?"

"Lollie-"

"Have fun on your date." She said and walked home, "Try not to hurt Riley in the process... she's fragile."

No one dared told Lollie that nobody would be at home.

She sat on the steps outside her apartment building waiting on someone to come home.

"I told her." Lucas said.

"Told who what?"

"Told Riley how I felt."

"Congratulations... I guess."

Lucas just smiled at her.

"What?" She asked.

"The pressure's off."

"What pressure?"

"About us."

"There's an us now?"

"Let's talk." Lucas smiled, "You play any sports?"

"I play volleyball."

"What's that like?

"It's fun, hard at first."

"What else?"

"I remember Noah trying to practice with me and I hit the volleyball too hard and his nose started to bleed."

"You should teach me sometime."

"I would love to."

Lollie stood by her locker and began doodling on her paper when Riley and Lucas came into view.

"Hey, Lucas and I are friends.
That's what we are, that's what we've always been. And we are not going to hurt that because you guys want us to be something we're not. So, go back to your own lives because nobody is moving too fast here." Riley said smiling.

"Sup." Maya said as she turned the corner with Farkle and she wearing a wedding dress and he's wearing a suit.

She threw the bouquet at Riley and she caught it.

Lollie smiled at the two and headed into the classroom.
