Several hours pass by when the jingle of the front door catches my ears. I set the hammer down and begin to clean up a bit. I put on a decent enough shirt, pick up a Eric's dagger, now in a newly made leather sheath, and begin walking towards the front. Eric is leaning on the counter a bit looking around to try and spot anything different than last time being here. I place the blade next to his hands and clear my throat.
"Oh hey, all done," he asks while turning towards me.
"Yea finished not to long ago hopefully it's works better than expected." I watch him pull out the dagger and the blade, itself, has a dark purple aura to it. It appears sharper than before as well.
He clips the weapon back onto his belt and pulls a massive buck closer towards the counter. "I'll test that out later on. Here's the agreed upon payment." He struggles for a second to drag it with both hands. Until, I throw it over my shoulder with ease and one hand at that.
I walk to the back and place the buck up upon a table. I have to go through this and get what I need from it soon. Walking back I notice a note on the front counter and Eric nowhere to be seen.
"Had to log off for the day. Catch you later tonight." Our brief notes are good to use so we keep some form of manners between us.
I scan the shop, one last time, and duck behind the counter. I rummage through all sorts of things until I find the engraved box. I peek to scan one last time then set the box on the counter. I put on my welders gloves then slowlty lift the lid. My fingers barely graze the blade and it feels as if my hand is on fire. Even with these gloves on I still feel this sensation? What kind of person would have blades like these?
I pick one up slowly and ignore the feeling of my hand, as if my hand is melting to the bone. The bell jingles and my hands juggles the blade for a second until it slips. My eyes and hands are reaching for it, but are too late as it bounces off the counter and lands on the floor completely still. I look up to see who is here and it's a woman. Her skin is almost like a pale peach color but holds a bit more contrast. Her hair is hiding underneath a hood. Her frame do hold slight curves to them, but they are hard to make out with her light robe she's wearing. Looking at her sea green eyes I notice what she is staring at. The blade on the floor is what she can't stop looking at.
I run around and begin to carefully pick it up when a voice sounds off behind me in a low tone. "Is it alright?"
I look the weapon over then try and pick it up. Ignoring the burning in my hand I place it back in the box and hear the voice go off again."I said is the dagger ok?"
I look it over quickly for any forms of being marred. "Yea it's fine but, I am putting it back before I get into any trouble. Wait." I turn around and eye the girl who is directly behind me, facing the floor.
"What can I do to help you, miss?" I close the lid with one hand and keep my eyes on her.
"You can start by handing back what is mine before you break it." She reaches up grabs a chunk of my shirt in one hand and pulls me down to her face. "Now," she commands through gritting teeth.
Placing a hand upon hers I release her hold. "Look lady you can't just come into someone's shop, claim that something belongs to you, and demand to have it. I don't care who-", I was interrupted by the sounds of footsteps coming downstairs. My body was like stone at that point as a voice echoes down.
"Lad how many times do I have to tell you to keep the noise down when I am nappin?" Sebastian walks down from the stairs and stands by the counter when he begins to open his eyes and place his glasses on his face. "Are you trying to-", he freezes as he looks upon the woman who is holding me. Then looks directly at me and the does a double back at her. "Oh shit son what have you done?" He walks over yanks me down by my wrist and grips my ear. At this point only he is holding me and I drop to a knee. "Apologize right now or you will regret it."
I wince in a bit of pain and some how manage to find my words. "Ow! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"
Sebastian bows slightly while keeping me in place. "We apologize Lady Ravenwater for causing your wears any harm."
"Lady?" I slip from Sebastien's grasp and stand up right.
The girl removes her hood and a long braid of ice colored hair slips out. Her eyes and hair color remind me of the Northern Lights. The colors dancing through the sky with blues and faint bits of green. I look from the blades to her.
Sebastian begins to push me to the back and apologizing once more to the woman. She removes her cloak and I become immovable. Her frame is interesting to see. An all leather jacket is cut short in length to fit near her stomach, kind of like a crop top. Her under armor seems to be a type of thin black chainmail. Tightly fitted dark brown leather pants with black hunter's boots. She appears like a common player. What could be so special about her. I am hit by a small burst of magic that takes my breath away covertly. She adjusts her bottoms and my eyes follow to her waist. A small book is locked and strapped to her side. A hand rides the rim of her bottoms as the other pushes back a bit of hair revealing elf like ears. My eyes waver back over her once more. Her frame seems quite voluptuous, it sort of reminds me of a pear in the way she is shaped. My eyes stay on her hips until I feel a hard shove is given to my lower back.
I look down and Sebastian is holding giving me a coy smile. "Her eyes are up higher, Lad. Also, I don't think it would be wise to be ogling a fae."
"A fae", I question while looking down at my mentor.
"Aye and I won't have you ogling her while she is here. We will chat later." Sebastian pushes me from sight and returns to the woman. I keep my back to the wall and listen.
"Sorry 'bout my boy there. He gets a bit to curious at times."
"Well curiosity did kill the cat." She speaks softly and my face falls a bit from her words.
"Well it's a good thing he is no cat then." Sebastian chuckles as I peek around the corner to catch a glimpse of the conversation.
She was visually appealing for the time of day. The sun was beginning to set in the distance and it made her look like she had a orange like ray beaming over her. She places the daggers into the holsters on her belt then looks up at Sebastian.
"What do I owe you, Sabby?" She ends her sentence with a smirk and my eyes widen. Sabby? Oh, I am definitely remembering this for later.
He smiles and folds his hands behind his back. "Nothin at all for today's trouble. Just stay safe out there." He turns and starts walking behind the counter.
He is stops and by this woman hugging him. She looks like a toddler clinging to a cute baby animal for the first time. It's kind of cute how she's holding him.
A deep beastly voice from within myself speaks up, "wishing that was us, boy?"
I step back and go to a face mirror in the forge. Instead of seeing my own reflection I am met with a massive white wolf, whose upper face alone takes up almost all of the mirror. His eyes stand a sapphire blue and he looks to be laying down.
"Trying to be funny now are we?" I raise a brow and watch my beast form chuckle. Shake its furry head about it looks in the direction from where I came. He lets out a huge sigh and it fogs up a bit of his side of the mirror. "Faes' are strong. So be mindful of that one. We have more important matters anyways." He looks back at me and our eyes lock together.
A small notification pops up at the base of the mirror. The mission calls itself The Mark Of The Alpha. The wolf growls low under its massive body awaiting my response.
I reject the quest and the wolf bares its teeth at me. I have rejected this same quest countless times. There is too much that is asked of a player once they complete that quest line.
"You refusing that quest again boy?" Sebastien asks while loading his pipe with tobacco, a sign that the shop's business is done for the day. I sigh kind of heavily as he uses the flames of the forge, pouring down onto the hot coals, to light his pipe. He takes a gentle puff then spits into the flames. "You will have to face that quest. There aren't a lot of people, who are faunus, that get that quest. Some would even kill for it." He exhales a thick white cloud to the side.
"And that's the problem", my head falls while the image of the wolf fades like a mist and my own reflection appears. "So many want that title but not many know the consequences to completing it."
"Aye none do lad", he takes another puff and walks closer to me. "There are those who do and they have accepted their fate. You must come to terms with yours." He walks towards the wooden carved chest in the back of the room. He rubs a hand along it and speaks in a fatherly tone. "You will see your abilities soar like a dragon."
I turn my head lightly to him slightly confused. "Hm? What did you say?" I didn't hear him clearly and raise my head a bit.
He shakes his head and walks out the room waving his pipe in the air. "Just spewing some nonsense lad. See you when you get back." He leaves without another word.
I glance at the clock and remember the plan. Meet up in the town square at nightfall and be ready for anything. My eyes go back to the buck Kirisai brought in and pull out a small hunter's knife. I've got loads of time.
