Sterling's POV

    "I see nothing wrong with that." I added and April just nods.

    I thanked Luke for lunch before getting into the car with April.

     Luke drove off first and I started driving afterwards.

    "Lunch was fun,right?" I started and she scoffs beside me.

     "You mean as I watch you flirt with both Luke and the waitress? Fun."  She sounded pretty pissed.

       I turned on the radio and it was our song from that night.I got tensed and so did April.I switched it off and focus on driving.

     I made a few turns before we reached the red light.I tapped against the steering wheel,looking around.

     "Why did you do that? I'm curious." April said,as she folds her arms.

    "Well,I can.It's not like you didn't do it during the lock-in with Luke."

     "I get it.You and Luke being together.I'm not mad but I just wanted you to feel a little of what I felt." I confessed and she just stared at the traffic,trying to gather her thoughts.

    "Okay,Sterling.Can't we just get behind this?" April suggested and I looked at her.

    "I don't know.It's hard." I let on because it is.She looks back at me and we held it there,our hands brushing.

    Every time I look at her,I have this exciting feeling.Like fireworks when we kiss.New emotions and everything just electrifying.

    I looked away and press on the wheels as it turns green.We didn't talk till we reach the community centre,where our eyes couldn't help but look at each other.

       We got out and walked in,feeling the need to touch each other now.

      "Boo!" Brian comes out of nowhere and startled us.Both of jumped a little and I sighed in relief,knowing it was Brian.

      "Hey,you two." He greeted us and I pushed him playfully.

     "That wasn't funny,Brian." Brian started laughing and chat with me for a moment,before going in with April.

     I looked around and to find Eric and I did,only to see him flirting with another blonde girl.

     I walked into the hall without him and waited till Jack comes in.

     I scrolled through Instagram to see any new trends and post.I spent a good 10 minutes look through social media before Jack comes to view.

      "Good afternoon,everyone.As everyone knows,this week is the fundraiser.I've had really good ideas from a few couple of y'all and I decided that we are going to do a community yard sale."
 
    "So I will need all the tables and chairs here cleared to one side and set up tables of 5.Each of you will be donating your items for the cause of charity.Some of the other volunteers will be doing a bake sale so you are welcome to help out."

     Wow,there is really going to be a fundraiser.

     Everyone stood up and did as instructed.I carried some of the chairs to the other side and piled them up.Some of the guys helped me out and some seems to be friendly.

     We organised all the tables and use the decorations found in the storage room to decorate the booths.

  We were assigned in groups and inevitably,I was partnered with April along with Eric and Brian.As well as another brunette girl.She looks pretty sketchy but she has cool vibe.You know those e-girls apparently.

    I've seen them on tiktok and they're just different,you know.I like it.

     After all the organising,we went back to our rooms for quick snack break with our partners before going back to work.

      I grab a few refreshments before going to the room.April was already there,munching on a snack.

    I sat down next to her and drink my apple juice.It was like us back in fifth grade.

     "Do you remember us in fifth grade where we use to drink and eat our snacks together despise being enemies?" I mentioned and she glanced up.

    "Yeah,Luke bit his own tongue and also chapstick." She added and I laughed,remembering it.

   "You quoted on him but he just cried in pain." She joined to laugh before it subside.

   "You know I never hated you,right?" I said and April just cleared her throat.

   "April,I'm not joking."
   "Look,I never did as well.I never hated you,Sterl." She lets out and lean back against the chair.

   "I was your friend except you gave me away to Jessica like I was NOTHING to you." April said in hurtful tone,tears falling down.

   "What? I don't remember that..." I tried to think about it but I can't.

   "Well,I remember and that's when I knew our friendship was a lie.You just didn't want me anymore." She wiped her tears and just stared at me with pain.Like she lost her best friend.

   "I'm sorry.I really am." I took her hand and this time,I was crying as well.

  "Well,I guess we just weren't meant to be friends anyway." She stood up and already headed for the door.

   "April!" I yelled,asking for her to come back but she just closed the door behind us.

     Why is always so hard with her?

     I took a few minutes to recollect myself and wipe the tears off my cheeks,just hoping we can fix this.

     But do I really want to fix this? Or do I want to continue 'us'?
