Nicki POV

I walk downstairs into the kitchen and prepare some chicken. My mom makes the best chicken ever,fried,baked,and grilled. She does it all. As I'm putting the chicken in the pan the doorbell rings. I go to answer it and when I open it my breath gets caught in my throat. Why is he here?

"Hey Nicki" He smiles

"What do you want Alan?" I ask

"You haven't responded to any of my calls and texts for a month,I just wanted to make sure you were ok" He says

"You don't need to know,I suggest you leave before Ciara gets back" I say

I expect him to come to his senses and leave but instead he walks closer to me.

"She doesn't appreciate you like I do,you keep worrying about how she's gonna feel when she didn't give a fuck how you felt after she found out what happened,we could've had something but you wouldn't get over her" He says

"Alan you're crazy,get out" I say

He pulls me close to him and I feel something sharp and cold touch my stomach.

"If I can't have you no one can" He says

He kisses my cheek and the cold object moves up my stomach. He lifts his arm to reveal a knife in his hand,my heart races and I look up at his face. He has this crazy look in his eyes and I instantly get scared for my life. The door opens and I look towards it to see Ciara coming in. She stops in her tracks and looks at us confused.

"What are you doing here?" She asks

"Just talking to Nicki" He says

He turns around and her eyes get wide when she sees the knife.

"Oh" She says nervously

She walks over to me and grabs my hand.

"Ciara I'm gonna cut to the chase,you don't deserve Nicki and if she doesn't come to me I'm gonna kill her and you too if you get in the way or tell" He says

"What the fuck?" She mumbles

"Alan get out of my house,forever,take your knife and leave" She says

"That would be too easy" He says while walking to her

She slaps the knife out of his hand and I quickly look up at her.

"Ci!" I say as I see a drop of blood

"It's nothing,I'll clean it off" She says

He bends down to pick the knife back up and she knees him in the nose. He groans and stands back up with anger in his eyes.

"You're gonna pay for that" He says lowly

He grabs her throat and backs her into the wall.

"Alan stop!" I yell

"No! She had a lot to do a few seconds ago!" He says

She pushes him away from her and punches him in his mouth. She hits hard so I'm not surprised that his lip is bleeding.

"Alright you asked for it" He says

He pushes her to the ground and climbs on top of her. He tries to charge the knife down at her but she grabs his wrists.

"Alan please get off of her" I say

I try to get him off of her but he's too heavy.

"ALAN GET THE FUCK OFF HER AND GET OUT!" I scream

"Nicki go get your phone and call the cops" She says

"No,I don't wanna leave you" I say

"I'll be fine,go do it" She says

I sigh and go upstairs to the bedroom and grab my phone. Just as I'm dialing the police I hear a loud scream and my palms get sweaty and I rush downstairs. I go back to where Ci was and I freeze when I see her holding her left side. I look over and see Alan on the ground trying to pull something out his pocket,probably got his own knife stuck in him. I look at Ci's side closer and gasp as I see her shirt covered in blood. She moves her hands a little and that's when I see the knife sticking out.

"Oh my gosh" I mumble as I kneel down next to her

I place my hands on her body and she flinches in pain.

"Are you ok?" I ask as my voice cracks

I shake my head as I cry out of frustration. I would do something about Alan but I know I don't stand a chance,I couldn't even pull him off her.

"I'm fine" She breathes heavily

"I'm so sorry this happened,I really am,I should've never opened the door without checking first" I say

"I am fine,you know I went through this before" She mumbles while holding her side again

When we were in college some crazy girl envied Ciara and eventually stabbed her in her leg.

"If you're fine then why are you crying?" I ask

"Nicki it still hurts and I won't be fine if this knife doesn't come out of my side" She groans

I carefully lift her shirt and see how deep the knife is. It's halfway in and I quickly let go of her shirt.

"Take it out" She says

"You sure?" I ask

"Yes" She says

I attempt to take it out but she clenches her eyelids and I move my hands.

"Why'd you stop?" She asks

"I don't want it to hurt you" I say

"Onika take the knife out now" She says seriously

I look down at the blood on my hands from her and sigh. I wrap my hand around the knife and she breathes heavily.

"1,2,3" She counts

Just as I'm about to pull it out I feel myself being pulled off of her and slammed on the ground. Alan hovers over me with the knife he was pulling out his leg.

"I really hate to do this Nicki but you gave me no choice" He says

He pins my arms to the floor and raises his arm up. He darts the knife down towards me but suddenly he gets lifted off me. I sit up and see Christian dragging him across the floor. Alan gets up and tries to stab Christian but he moves and goes into the kitchen. When he comes out Alan tries to stab him again and Christian surprises me when I see him stab Alan in the shoulder,he stabs him in other places and I start to see Alan slump down to the floor. Christian drops the knife and looks around in shock as he slides down the wall.

"Christian" I say

"Christian" I say louder

"Christian!" I yell

He snaps out of his daze and looks over at us. He crawls over here and hugs me tightly,he looks over at Ci and starts to panic.

"Oh shit! Oh shit! Oh shit!" He yells

"I'm fine just take it out" She says

"Alright,1,2,3" He says

I close my eyes and turn my head as he pulls it out,it's too much to watch. We hear sirens in the distance and he quickly stands up. He takes his shirt and hands it to me.

"Wrap that around her to stop the blood and stay there with her" He says

I lift up her shirt and wrap his shirt around the wound. I look over at Christian and as soon as he turns Alan on his back the police come in.

"We got a call about a disturbance" One of the officers say

"From the looks of it,you all might be facing charges" The other one says

"Wait hold on! It was totally self defense" I say

"Please explain Ms. Maraj" The male officer says

"Before we start can I please get some medical assistance before I pass out" Ci says

A officer sits her up and checks her out before calling in for an ambulance.

"Care to explain why there's a body on the floor and a wounded patient now" The officer asks

"You see about a year ago I cheated on my wife with him and ever since he hasn't left me alone,even when I was trying to make it up to her he kept popping up everywhere I was,every time I saw him he had this crazy look in his eyes,eventually we worked it out and I've been ignoring his texts and calls,today he shows up unannounced and I asked him what he wanted,he asked me why I've been ignoring him and I told him he needs to leave before she comes back,he pulled me close to him and I felt a cold and sharp object on my stomach and he said if he couldn't have me,no one can,that's when Ciara walked in and asked what he was doing here he told her if she decided to get in the way he was gonna kill her before me if I didn't choose him,she slapped the knife out his hand and kneed him in the nose,when he got up he grabbed her throat and pinned her to the wall,I told him to let go of her but he wouldn't listen,she punched him and he pushed her to the ground and hovered over her with the knife,I begged him to stop and she told me to call the cops but before I got the chance to I heard a scream and came back down here and found the knife in her side,he got his other knife stuck in his leg and as he was trying to pull it out I went to make sure she was ok,I was about to take it out her side when I was pinned to the ground and he was over me with the other knife in his hand,that's when Christian pulled him off of me" I say

They finish writing it down and turn to him.

"How did you get in the house sir?" The female officer asks

"Me and Ciara were originally at the studio and when we went to get some food she asked to get her hoodie real quick,now she told me twice she was gonna be right out so I waited in the car,I turn up the radio and dance around to the music,so like 5-6 songs come on and I realize about 30 minutes pass by and I start to worry,I turn the radio down and the first thing I hear is screaming and I see the door open,I quickly get out and walk in the house and see Alan on Nicki,I pull him off and drag him away from them and when he got up he tried to stab me too,I move quickly and went to go look for something to defend myself,I find a knife and when I saw him again he tried to swing the knife,I stab him in the shoulder,back,side,and arm,he dropped to the floor and I sat in shock about what just happened" He says

I drape my arm across Ci's shoulder and I hear more sirens.

"It feels any better?" I ask

"Somewhat" She says

The ambulance come in and put her on a stretcher.

"Do you have any proof of this?" The officer asks

"Yes we have security cameras around the house" I say

"Once we get the tape we can look further into the situation but first we have to get these two to a hospital" The officer says

I nod my head and walk over to Ci and grab her hand. I feel really guilty about what happened.

"Regardless of how this goes officer,I really was just trying to protect my friends and then myself" Christian says

"I totally understand,I've seen a lot of cases like this and for the most part the judge should make everything easy" The male officer says

"Officer this man is dead" The paramedic says

Why is today so crazy!? First Ci almost died and now Alan did,even though he was out of his mind and attacked,Ci,and Christian I would never want anybody to die.

"Let's take them over to the hospital ASAP" The officer says

I ride in the ambulance with Ci and Christian takes his car,I watch them properly cover up the womb,after a few minutes I build up the strength to stop crying a little. We get to the hospital and they take her to surgery and I wait with Christian. About 45 minutes later everybody else shows up and I still don't know if she's out of surgery yet. A doctor walks over to us and reads off the clipboard.

"Ciara is doing just fine,she just got out of surgery,the cut was pretty deep but we managed to stop the bleeding,clean her up,and stitch it up" He says

"What room is she in?" I ask

"Room 508" He says

"Ok,thank you" I say

"Y'all can go first,I don't wanna take up all the time" I say

"It's fine go" August says

"No,go ahead,I gotta call her parents anyway" I say

"Alright" Nay sighs

I pull out my phone and tap on her moms contact.

Me: Don't panic but you should come to the hospital to see Ciara

Mama Jackie 👩🏽💎💓: Why,what happened?

Me: It's hard to explain over the phone but she'll tell you,she's fine though

Mama Jackie 👩🏽💎💓: On my way

I put my phone down and lay my head back,her parents get here with Zahir and while they're in there I talk to Christian.

"Christian God bless you,your name says it all" I smile

"You literally saved my life" I add

"And I would do it every day if I have to,I'll always protect all of you,I just feel odd that I killed somebody but I'm gonna have to find a way" He smiles

Her parents come out and I go to see her,when I get in front of her room I take a deep breath and walk in. I give her a small smile and sit next to her on the bed.

"Hey" I say

"Hey" She says

"How you feeling?" I ask

"It still hurts but it's better" She says

"How many stitches did you get?" I ask

"Like 5-8" She says

"You sure you're gonna be ok?" I ask

"Baby for the 5th time,I'm good" She chuckles

"But you're a little pale" I say

"I'm dehydrated" She says

"They want me to stay a couple days though,the cut wasn't that deep but it was like right on the boarder line of severely deep and deep,so they want me to stay so the can observe everything" She says

"So Alan's really dead?" She asks

I nod my head and look at the bandage on her,I notice her stomach and waist still have dry blood on it and I raise my eyebrow.

"They didn't clean you up?" I ask

"Can't,I have to wait at least 24 hours so the stitches can react properly before the bandage comes off" She says

"I feel like this is all my fault" I say

"It's not,at least you're talking to me right now,it could've been worse" She says

"But I could've prevented this,so much,from when I first met him till today,it would've been different and I'm really sorry" I say

"Don't be" She says

She places her hands on my cheeks and kisses me.

"It's not your fault,stop blaming yourself for everything major in our relationship,we don't know why Alan felt the need to do that,that's a question only God knows,I do know you tried to help me and that's all that matters" She says while looking in my eyes

I nod my head and smile at her,I would never understand how she can remain so positive in a situation like this. I know I married a string person and I'm never gonna forget that or take it for granted.
