Thousands of dragon trappers flooded over the land of Dragon's Haven. A few hundred traps had been set and ships sat just off shore waiting on the new cargo.

As Razzle and I flew close, firing on a Dragon trap, I heard the twins' laughter ring across the ice. Dragon's under Drago's control wore metal, making them easy to pick from the wild dragons.

Suddenly a loud war cry was heard across the island. Slowly, knocking ships out of the way rose a giant black Bewilderbeast. I stared at the dragon. He was shackled at the tusk and had been raised into submission. To Drago's dragons, King was nothing. They had an alpha.

My teeth grinded as Razzle and I joined the other riders.

"Class ten!" Fishlegs yelled. "Class ten!"

'Get out of the way!' I signed to Snotlout beside me. 'Big fight!'

Snotlout looked back at King and Alpha who were rearing up too close for comfort. "Mouse says to move faster guys!" He yelled and the riders moved just in time for the two to but heads and cause blast of air to blow my long braid over my shoulder.

Valka attempted to stop King and Alpha from fighting by getting in the middle.

"Mama Valka, no!" I yelled as loud as I could.

King hesitated. Alpha did not. Valka hardly managed to move as Apha pushed King over.

We could only watch in horror as Alpha plunged his tusks into King's belly.

"No!" Valka yelled.

Alpha, the new king of dragons, stood over the corpse of the fallen king. He roared and the other wild dragons bowed to Alpha's control.

Suddenly the dark Bewilderbeast started shooting ice at Valka and Cloudjumper.

Razzle and Cloudjumper flew away from the ice spitter. We were separated when a dragon rammed into Cloudjumper's belly. Cloudjumper and Valka flew up as Razzle and I dove.

Razzle shook her head as though she didn't like something.

Oh no... I jumped from Razzle's back, impaling Razorblade into the icey cliff. Razzle shook her head and I could see her good eye narrow. Suddenly I didn't exist to my best friend and away she flew. I scrunched my nose at the pain of the situation.

After a moment of grief, I steeled my nerves and pulled an arrow from my quiver. I stabbed it into the ice wall and used the nadder quill arrow and Razorblade to climb down.

Just as I reached the bottom, Stoick pulled Valka behind a small outcropping of ice, hiding her from Alpha.

Stoick looked her over. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, Stoick," Valka said.

I peaked around the ice.

"Mouse, are you okay?" Stoick asked.

"Fine, dad," I responded quickly. Alpha was still lookingfor us. "How do we help Hiccup without our dragons?"

Valka chuckled at me.

I looked back at them. "What's funny, Mama Valka."

"Even apart," Valka said with a smile, "we both met you."

"What?"

"Nothing, Mouse," Stoick said. "There will be plenty of time to catch up before your wedding."

"If we don't do something soon," I said, "we won't live to see my wedding." I set a hand on my stomach as I peaked around the small ice wall. Let alone meet you...

A loud war cry sounded across the island again.

"Alpha is moving," I told the pair.

Stoick looked toward where Alpha was turning to. "What...? Hiccup!" Drago towered over Hiccup as Stoick ran towards them, Valka and I immediately on his tail. "Come on, Gobber!" He yelled as we passed the peg legged Viking.

Gobber turned around. "Okay, change of plans."

I could see Toothless writhing as he fought an unfightable force. Drago walked toward Alpha as Toothless turned towards Hiccup.

Oh no.

"Knock it off!" Hiccup yelled at Toothless. "Stop! Snap out of it!" Toothless backed Hiccup into a corner. "Toothless! No! Toothless! Don't!

"Hiccup!" Stoic yelled as he ran faster than Valka or I could manage.

"STOP!" Hiccup yelled at toothless.

"SON!" As fast as a blink, Stoick had pushed Hiccup aside.

"DAD! NO!" Hiccup screamed as a bright blue flash sent Stoick flying into the ice behind them.

Stoick lay still on the ground, ice falling on his body.

"Dad!" Hiccup yelled as he pulled ice away from his father.

Valka's step faultered in disbelief beside me. "Stoick..."

My footfalls quickened. I slid on my knees across the ice to Hiccup's side and helped him pull Stoick onto his back. 'Stoick, you have to be okay!' I cried out silently. 'You have to... you promised...' Tears dripped down my face as I pinched my throat. "You promised, dad!"

"No..." Hiccup breathed out, "you..."

Valka was there a second later, pressing her ear into his chest. After a second her breath caught in her chest and she shook her head.

Hiccup shook his head. "No. No," Hiccup cried, "no, no. No..."

Tears streamed down my face as I bawled silently at another loss.

Had I not had a vocal cord issue, my wails would have been heard as far as Berk. Any dragon not under Alpha's control would have mourned the death of my second father had they been able to hear my cries. My sobs would have brought Berserkers to their knees and put a fury like no other in the heart of a wing maiden. But instead there was only the crying of Hiccup and the sadness of Valka that told of the loss my silent tears could not tell.

Astrid rushed to Hiccup's side and Snotlout to mine. As Astrid knelt beside Hiccup, Snotlout set a hand on my shoulder. I turned away from the lifeless body of Stoick and burrowed my face into Snotlout's chest as I continued to cry.

"No! Get away from him!" Hiccup yelled at Toothless, who was attempting to wake Stoick. "GO ON! GET OUT OF HERE!" Hiccup shooed him. "GET AWAY!" As Toothless left, the other dragons turned to follow Alpha as well.

"It's not his fault," Valka told Hiccup. "You know that." Valka set a hand on my back. "Good dragons under the control of bad people, do bad things."

Drago was riding Toothless as he yelled, "GATHER THE MEN AND MEET ME AT BERK!"

Hiccup tried to go after him. "Toothless!"

But Valka stopped him. "No, don't!"

Drago and his Bewilderbeast headed towards Berk, while his men prepared to sail. All the dragons followed him as well.
