“So are you a couple or not?” I demanded as we drove to school.

“Why don’t you just ask her. Isn’t that what girls do?” Luke chuckled as he drove down the road towards the school.

“So you are couple. Aww, that’s so cute!” I cooed.

“It’s not that big of a deal.” He lied.

I chuckled. “Unbelievable. Of course it’s a big deal, stupid. When’s your first date?”

“Not everybody goes on actual dates, you know.” Jack sang.

“Well you are, right?” I rolled my eyes as I asked Luke.

“Yeah. But I’m not telling you where either so don’t ask.” We pulled into the parking lot and noticed that the group of girls that have been at the front of the school waiting for our arrival has gotten smaller in the past two weeks that I’ve been here.

“Why is your fan group going away?” I asked.

“Believe it or not. Some girls have morals.” Jack chuckled. “None of us are single so some of them either realize that there’s no hope and move on or don’t want to steal another girl’s guy.”

I didn’t know Jack had a girlfriend. Oh, well. “How would you know that?” I raised my brow at him.

Again, he chuckled. “I have a sister.”

Before we could continue the conversation, I opened the door and dodged through the small crowd of girls in a hurry to find Ariana.

“Ariana!” I yelped, running after her down the sidewalk.

She looked frightened as she turned around and saw me darting towards her. I ignored all of the stares I was getting from the people around me as I nearly pushed them over running towards Ariana. I gripped her arm to slow me down and smiled at her.

“Tell me. Everything.” I told her with a smile.

Her face turned bright red as she described (skipping the kissing stuff) about their night. I summarized it down to they talked and then they kissed and then Luke asked her out and she said yes.

When she was done explaining everything to me, it was time to go to first period so I hugged her goodbye and headed towards French.

At lunch, Ariana convinced me to skip lunch with Miss. Miller and join her at the jock table. She didn’t want to be alone with Luke’s friends and he asked her to sit with him.

I found her in the hallway on the way to the cafeteria and walked with her to the line to get our food.

“So do you think it’s going to be weird?” She asked me.

“Do I think what is going to be weird?”

“Us dating each other’s brothers? It seems kind of weird.” She said, grabbing a tuna sandwich from the counter.

“I think we’ll get used to it.” I sighed, picking up an Italian sub. “I mean, I really like Adam. I really do. And I think that Luke really likes you.”

“And I really like him.” She said dreamily as she paid for her lunch and I paid for mine.

“Then we’ll get used to it.” We thanked the lady and walked towards the jock table. “Well, here we go.”

I took a seat between Ariana and Adam and Luke was on the other side of Ariana. The air head jocks were throwing food at each other or stuffing their faces with it as they laughed. The bone head girls just stared at the air headed guys with looks of lust as if they weren’t acting like cavemen.

“Nice of you to join us.” Adam said, kissing my cheek. Just small kisses like that sent butterflies into my stomach.

“Ariana made me.” I pouted, nibbling on one of my fries.

“I’m glad she did.” He chuckled, stuffing his face with a burger.

“Who are you?” Somebody asked me through a bite of food. His food spurt everywhere around him, but I seemed to be the only person to notice. Luckily, I was on the opposite side of the table, and not in the splash zone.

I looked at the guy like he was crazy and remained silent.

“Lindsay.” Adam said before I could say anything. “My girlfriend.” Then he pulled me close to him with his arm wrapped around my waist.

"My sister." Luke added.

“Didn’t know you had a girlfriend.” One of the girls said, full of disappointment. I earned multiple dirty looks from the girls at the table.

“Well, I do.” He sighed, taking another large bite of his burger.

“So, is that your girl, Luke?” Another guy said in the same manner as the other one, spurting bits of his lunch everywhere. Wouldn’t he like to eat some of it? As the guy spoke, he nudged his head in the direction of Ariana.

Luke nodded. “Yeah. Her name is Ariana.”

“When the hell did you two get chicks?” Some guy asked, again with the food waterfall.

“A week ago, Evan.” Adam said in a duh tone.

The guy called Evan looked over at Luke. “You too? Dude, I talked to you Friday.”

“No. Just this weekend.” He said proudly, wrapping an arm around Ariana’s waist. Must be a guy thing to wrap your arm around a girl’s waist. Possessive maybe? Her face flushed red but she couldn’t hold back her smile as she slowly nibbled on her fries.

I chuckled to myself and rested my head on Adam’s shoulder, ignoring the discussions of football and random guy conversations through lunch. I occasionally felt Adam’s shoulder rumble as he spoke or laughed but I didn’t lift my head. Luckily, me and Ariana were not the topic of discussion for any longer than that. I guess I should thank the short attention span of stupid football players. I mean, no, I’m not saying that all football players are stupid. I’m saying that the ones that Adam and Luke sit with, are stupid.

After school, I rode home with Adam and Ariana rode home with Luke and Jack rode home with his mystery girlfriend, letting Ariana and Luke be alone.

At home, I kissed Adam goodbye then headed inside. I waved to Ariana as we passed each other in the middle of the cul-de-sac and went on our way. When I got inside, my mom was in the kitchen and Luke was sitting at the bar, waiting for his pizza rolls that my mother was making for us.

I sat down next to him at the bar and smiled. “Hey, mom.”

She smiled back at me, a very excited smile. “Hey, honey.”

“She has good news.” Luke muttered, taking a drink of his Coke.

“Good news?” I raised my brows at her and took a drink of Luke’s Coke as well, ignoring his dirty look.

Her smile widened as she stepped to the other side of the bar and leaned her elbows on the black marble counter. “Yup.”

“So, let’s hear it.” Luke said.

“Okay, so winter break is in a month… And the plan was that I was going to take a week and it would be just us three to the beach house.”

My mouth dropped into an O. “The beach house?! We haven’t been to the beach house in years!” I squealed. “Do we even still have it?!”

The beach house was a place that we loved to go to when me and Luke were kids, before Dad left. My mom bought it when we got money from my talent when I was two. It’s in Florida, Panama City to be exact, and amazing.

She sighed. “But then-“

“Work called.” Me and Luke muttered at the same time, my excitement immediately distinguished.

“Yes, but-“ She chirped quickly. “I know how much you guys loved the beach house. So… what I’m going to do is compromise with you two. If you guys promise to be good. Like, really, really good. You guys can go down with some friends.”

We both jumped out of our seats with jaws dropped that quickly formed into grins. “Seriously?!” I shrieked.

“Yes.” She said.

“Mom, that’s insane!” Luke cried.

“I know. But I feel bad that we don’t go anymore. And you better be good.”

“Promise. Absolutely good. 100% perfect.” I nodded excitedly.

“Swear.” Luke agreed.

“Alright.” My mom sighed. “You leave the day after Christmas. Which means you’re spending new year down there and coming back on the 2nd.” She said.

“Ahh! This is going to be insane!” I shrieked. “Ariana and Adam” I started, poking out a finger every time I said a name.

“Jack and his girlfriend.” Luke added.

“Well, who’s his girlfriend?”

“And her two friends, most likely.” He added, avoiding my question.

“Luke.” I demanded. “Who are her two friends?”

He smiled sheepishly at me.

“Who is she?” I asked, stepping closer to me.

“They have to go or Jack won’t go.” He said. “And if Jack doesn’t go it won’t be as much fun.”

“Luke!” I nearly yelled. “Who the hell is his girlfriend?”

“Allison.” He said quickly.

Allison is the third whore in the Amber and Brooke group. Yep, there’s three. I don’t really see Allison too much, I don’t have any classes with her so all I see of her is when she’s in the hallways, shaking her ass behind Amber.

“Allison only has two friends.” I said slowly. “And those two friends would be Brooke and Amber.”

He nodded slowly. “They have to go, Lindsay.”

“The Brooke that is trying to steal Adam away from me and the Amber that’s trying to steal you away from Ariana?!”

“She hasn’t tried to steal me away from Ariana. You’re being ridiculous.” He rolled his eyes.

“She wasn’t at school today, that’s why.” I shrieked.  “Wait until she gets to school. No they can’t go.”

“Please?” He asked.

“No!” I shrieked. “Absolutely not. They’d ruin this vacation. We haven’t been to the beach house since Dad left. I do not want to spend the time we have there to be constantly harassed by the tri-whores.” (Tri- Whore. Get it? I like the nick name. I think it suits them.)

“We’ll talk about it later.” He mumbled, taking the plate of Pizza Rolls and walking towards the stairs.

“Half of those are mine!” I called behind him.

“Make more!” He called as he bounced up the stairs.

“No.” I said, following him up the stairs. “We are sharing those whether you like it or not. I’m not waiting for another thing to cook.”

He chuckled and walked into his room, I followed. “Whatever.”

I sat on the edge of the bed and he put the plate in between us as he started up his laptop.

“They might not even go. I mean, it’s in a month and Jack and Allison will probably be broken up by then.” He said.

“Even if they’re still together, they can spend a week apart and if they can’t then she can leave her shitty friends here.” I said stuffing my mouth with a hot Pizza Roll.

“It won’t be that easy, Linds. But it doesn’t matter right now. We can figure this all out when the time comes, okay?”

I sighed and grabbed another Pizza Roll. “Fine, whatever.”

“And if Mom asks, Ariana is going because she’s your friend and Adam is going because he’s my friend. She won’t let them go if they’re going as boyfriend and girlfriend.”

“Yeah, yeah, I know the drill.” I muttered, eating another Pizza Roll as Luke did the same.

"So what are you getting me for Christmas?" He asked me with a grin.

"I haven't even gotten your present yet. We still have a month, chill." I laughed. "What are you getting me?"

He shrugged. "Not sure yet. But I think Mom is trying to put in a lot of effort this year."

"Yeah, I noticed. The tree isn't even fake this year and I think I even saw wrapping paper."

"Do you really think that we're going to the beach house?" He asked.

"I hope so. I know that if we do, though. It's going to be crazy."

It's short, I know.

I did get a lot of inspiration on my vacation (obviously with the beach house coming up)

But this is all I can get up right now because I'm not sure how long I'll have Wifi for.
