I sat down on Sota's couch, and waited for him to come downstairs, and to stop video chatting with his friends. It was our weekly session, and Ray was busy. It was just me and Sota today, but he seemed busy too. I waited, and finally, I stood up. Mrs. Meril looked at me sympathetically, as I left. "Tell him to call me if he needs me...." I squeaked out, and ran outside, letting all my tears leave my eyes. He wasn't seeing me at school either. I spent lunch alone, and depressed. I couldn't believe a relationship could end so quickly. Even Ray had separated. Tetsuo was now talking to him about sports. Rayna no longer visited, and Suguro and Rayna apparently got together frequently to work together. My phone panged as I was sitting in my room after school, and I looked at it. The group chat. I had learned not to reply to any messages. Lately, they hadn't been for me.Tetsuo: hey boys. Want to meet after school?Sota: sure!Ray: sure!Tetsuo: where should we meet?Sota: we could meet a my house. I don't have any lame tutoring lessons anymore!Mizuki: oh I see now! I'll keep that in mind the next time I try to visit you!Sota: wait a sec! Miz!?!I shut off my phone, and collapsed into my bed, crying. When I woke up the next morning, I turned back on my phone, and it panged over and over again. 9 hours ago:Sota: Miz!?Ray: well, we are using the group chat. Didn't know he was on...Tetsuo: hey, Miz!Sota: Mizuki? Are you here? Sota: Mizuki?Sota: Mizuki? Answer if you're still there :(Ray: Miz, you're not usually one to ignore messages.....Tetsuo: Mizuki? Are you okay?I ignored the messages, and went to get ready for school. At lunch, I heard footsteps behind me, and packed up my lunch slowly. I knew who the footsteps belonged to. The footsteps got closer, and Sota crouched down next to me. Ray took my other side. "Miz?" Sota asked, tapping my shoulder. I stood, and turned, walking away from him. I couldn't bear to turn around as I looked backward. "So those lessons I gave you were lame, huh? Why do I even try?" I asked. "Miz....""You shouldn't call me that anymore. You've made it quite clear we aren't friends anymore." Sota's eyes widened. "Miz? When did you- Oh, no....you looked at the messages. Mizuki, I-" I shook my head, and walked away, leaving the lunchroom. I made my way to the bathroom, and sat down in a stall, locking it behind me. I waited until the bell rang for class before cleaning my face, and leaving the lunchroom. When I got to Miss Loranne's classroom, Sota was in his seat. He stood up, and walked towards me. "Miz?" he asked. I pushed his hand away, and walked past him, sitting in my seat, and burying my face in my arms. Why wouldn't he leave me alone? He didn't try to say anything to me. He just sat down, and I felt his concerned glances at me. I just sat there. Class hadn't even started, but the moment Miss Loranne came in, the atmosphere changed, and about a minute later, she tapped my shoulder. "Cornell-kun? Would you like to go to the nurse, honey?" she asked. "I'm fine-" a sob escaped and I slumped in defeat. "Shoot." "Miz? Hey, Miz? Are you okay?""No." "Do you want to go home?" Miss Loranne asked."I don't know!!!" I snapped, and started to cry. Of course I started to cry when Tetsuo and Ray came in. Their footsteps stopped at the doorway, and then they became hurried. "Miz!" Ray exclaimed, and hurried to my desk. Tetsuo came too, silently. All of them around me stressed me out, and I stood up, walking out. "Please excuse me, Miss Loranne," I said, and walked towards the office. At the time, I had not noticed my mistake in Miss Loranne's name, but I didn't consider it. As soon as I was there, and the desk clerk saw me, she handed me the phone, and I dialed in the number, and leaned against the desk. "Hello. This is Mrs. Cornell.""Hi, mom." "Mizuki? Why are you-""Can you come pick me up?" I asked. "Sure thing, honey. I'll be right there." I hung up, and sat in one of the chairs, pulling my knees up to my chest. The clerk dropped her papers, and came over to me. "Miz!" I heard Ray yell, and loud footsteps bounded down the halls. The clerk got up, and locked the door, walking towards the Principal's office. A moment later, and the Principal walked out, and took her place with his arm around my shoulder. A knock on the door startled me, and I sobbed again. The clerk opened the window, and then the door, letting my mom come in. I stood up, and followed her outside, and to the car. Silence was how it stayed, and the instant I got home, I fainted.
