Y/n's POV

"Considering the description the villagers gave us, this must be it" Warriors comments while staring at the large structure. The reason we came here is because rumours travelled through a village nearby that this place is possessed by evil entities. According to some, there are even some travellers that went in there, and never came out again.

At first I was a bit sceptical about these rumours. Especially since the villagers tried to sell us potions that were supposed to protect us if we went in. I will admit, I thought it was a scam to squeeze money out of us. But now that I'm standing in front of this place, I can feel an eerie darkness emit from inside of it. The others feel it too, there is simply no way someone can miss this intense feeling of corruption.

"This is it alright. There is no way a regular building feels this off" Legend says while letting his eyes trail off to the group, making eye contact with everyone. "Did someone note that down? The hoarder actually agreed with me" Warriors exclaims while dramatically putting the back of his hand against his forehead. Legend opens his mouth but Time raises his hand to stop the argument before it starts. 'Warriors is such a tease sometimes. It is pretty funny though' I softly laugh to myself.

"This is no time for jokes boys. I trust you all noticed the aura this place gives of?". Everyone nods and Sky even unsheathes the Master Sword. "She feels it too. The villagers weren't lying when they said that there is something evil inside". "Then it is decided. We will enter and eradicate the source of evil" Time's words are final.

He turns and calmly walks towards me. "Y/n," He puts his hand on my shoulder "this is your first dungeon, correct?". 'Technically I have done dungeons before back in my world when I was gaming, but I have never done one personally' I think and nod to respond to Time's question. "It is very dangerous inside. Dungeons are filled with monsters, traps and puzzles. You don't have to come inside if you don't want to. There is no shame in that" he offers. "No! I may be different then you, but I still feel like a part of the team and I won't stay outside when I can go with you and help!" I refuse his offer.

"Very well," he chuckles, "I will team you up with..."

-Sky-

"...Sky. You two will go in together. Sky, I trust you can keep her safe?" Time asks. "Of course I will" Sky responds. As Time continues to make the other teams, Sky walks to me and strikes a conversation.

"Are you scared to go in?" he gently asks. "A little bit. It is my first time after all" I admit bashfully. "Yet, when Time told you that you could stay outside, you still wanted to come. You are very courageous y/n" he softly compliments. A blush spreads across my cheeks. "Thank you".

Time interrupts the moment by announcing that the teams are made. "Ok everyone, there is a possibility that there are multiple paths and ways to take when we enter. That is where we split apart as a team and continue in groups of two. If there are no other paths then we all stick together. We tackle this dungeon like any other one we already did. Understood?" after his brief explanation everyone nods.

After our confirmation that we understand, everyone advances into the structure. Upon entering, it seems to be like a long dimly lit hallway, about every 10 metres there is a torch that is attached to the wall, lighting up the grey stone passage. However, it doesn't take long until there are a multitude of entries. Coincidentally five to be precise, the exact number of teams in our group.

"This must be what Time described. So do we choose a path and leave the others now?" I ask Sky. "Yes, do you want to go that way before someone else picks it?" he says while pointing at the path with the most light. "Ok, good pick. Let's go".

Together we walk into the tunnel. As we continue to walk the ceiling keeps getting lower. We go from hunched over to fully crawling over the dusty floor. Luckily, the sidewalls stay the same distance apart. Otherwise I would feel even more claustrophobic than I already do. Suddenly Sky lets out a half suppressed laugh. I look at him. "I'm sorry". "for what?" I question. 'He himself isn't actively lowering the ceiling to put us into this situation so why is he apologising?'

"Well... it was my choice that brought us here. If I chose a different path we probably wouldn't be crawling over this dirty dungeon floor. I just thought it would be a good idea to choose the way that was best lit because I don't know if you are afraid of the dark or not..." he explains. I turn to him as much as I can in my position and put my hand on his. "Sky, please don't apologise. You know it is my first time in a dungeon and you just want to make me as comfortable as I can be. I'm really grateful, Sky. And not just for this. You have been so kind to me ever since I joined. It feels like all I do is thank you..." I respond. "Y/n... you only see the things I do for you, but I don't think you realise that you are always helping me as well. You cooked for me, you walk together with me and you engage interesting and fun conversations with me". "But those are little things" I object. "It are the little things that matter most to me... especially when they come from you" he says while turning his hand around underneath my own to hold it.

With a loving smile on his face, he gently strokes his thumb over mine. No matter what the situation is, he always makes me feel at peace. Even though we are in a quite uncomfortable position I can still smile thanks to him. I lightly squeeze his hand. Feelings have been blooming inside my heart for a while but it is in this moment that I finally realise what they mean.

"Sky...I-" "what a cute display. I feel almost sorry to ruin it" a rough voice interrupts me. "What is it, y/n?" Sky asks as if I wasn't just rudely interrupted by this strange voice. "D-didn't you hear that? Someone said something. How can you possibly not have heard it? It sounded like it echoed from the walls themselves" I respond, starting to doubt myself.

"Oh, he can't hear me so there is no need to ask him dumb questions. My voice doesn't echo from the walls. It echoes from inside your mind". I look up in confusion. "I have been tasked to watch you and I have been doing it for quite a while now..." the voice continues, "I have seen how close you have gotten to the Hero of the Skies. How sad that you won't be able to be together for long".

I shout at the voice "Who are you?! Where are you?!". It makes my skin crawl and my hair stand up straight. "Y/n!" Sky removes his hand from mine and puts it on my back. "You would like to know who I am, don't you? Heh, join me and find out" the voice starts to laugh when the floor underneath me disappears, making me fall into the darkness below. A scream rips through my throat right before I collide with the floor, losing consciousness.

When I awaken I once again feel this dark entity I felt when I first approached the dungeon, only this time, it is much stronger. I painfully lift my head to look around to see nothing but shadow and upon further analysis, I discover that the floor is made up of inch-deep black water. Whilst cradling my aching body, I rise. The fall hurt, but no bones appear to be broken.

"Have you finally regained your senses? Tch, it took you long enough" the voice from before scoffs. I swiftly look into the direction it came from. There I see him, Dark Link, sitting on top of a dead, grey tree. "You...what do you want, Dark Link!" I scream at him, hoping that he doesn't see through my fake brave front. He only raises an eyebrow in response. "It is not what I want. It is what my master wants. Trust me I want nothing to do with some boring girl who isn't even from Hyrule" he says while making my eyes widen. 'He knows? How does he know?!' I think while in shock.

"Seeing your shocked face is quite a funny sight to see. But anyway, if you really want to know why I am here I'll tell you" he says. He then jumps off his tree and appears in front of me within a split second, making me stumble back in surprise. "Truth is, my master sent me to give you a little something... He said you were ready after he visited you in your dream" he tells me with a knowing smirk on his face. "Your master?! Who is it?" I ask him. 'I have wondered why I had dreamed such a disturbing thing ever since that night. I guess it wasn't a dream made up of my own subconscious but by some entity that Dark Link calls master'

"You really don't know? Incompetent girl!" he says while pushing his flat hand against the middle of my chest, pushing some dark orb in. I gasp while quickly reaching for the area he harshly pressed. "Well, I did my job. You can leave now. Say hello to your little hero for me" he tells me while smiling maliciously. He pushes me into the dark liquid and I sink deep into it.

However the feeling of sinking quickly dissipates and is replaced by something else. 'It almost feels like someone is shaking me? No, this feels more like someone is carrying me and it is their running that jostels me around. But... who is carrying me...?'

-Wild-

"...Wild. He has some type of shrine in his Hyrule that is different from ours and he also did some dungeons with us that most of us are familiar with. In other words, he has a lot of experience with diverse dungeons and their layout" Time explains Wild's knowledge.

"That's right! When you are with me. You'll be safe" he confidently tells me. "Well then, it's a good thing that I got paired up with you" I tell him with a smile on my face. "Alright y/n," Time says, getting my attention, "before we go in I will briefly explain how we usually tackle dungeons. There is a possibility that there are multiple paths and ways to take when we enter. That is where we split apart as a team and continue in groups of two. If there are no other paths then we all stick together. So there is a chance that you don't need to be only partnered up with Wild, but we still make teams before we enter because one ever knows what to expect" he explains.

"Ok, I think I got it" I respond after the description on how the group tackles these things. "Then let us go in" Time signals everyone to enter. The moment I step into the dungeon a mossy smell flies towards me. I take another breath while admiring the architecture. It mostly reminds me of a corn maze with sandstone walls. In every direction you look there is another hallway. 'It seems that we have to split up after all' I think to myself.

"Wild, what direction should we continue in?" I ask my partner. "How about that one?" he offers while pointing to one path. "The musky smell isn't as bad in that direction" he continues. I move forward and take a whiff of the air that comes from the twisting hallway. "You're right. Let's take this one then" I respond.

He nods and walks to my side so we can enter together. "You have an excellent sense of smell. I didn't notice how the musky scent was less potent here" I complement Wild. He rubs the back of his neck with his hand while responding with an "Uh thanks".

After a few minutes of ceaselessly walking forward I turn around. "It doesn't feel like we got far, but the entrance isn't visible anymore" I notice. Wild glances backwards and nods. "It's just us now..." he murmurs with a soft voice. "Y/n... I am really glad that I got paired up with you. From the moment you joined the group, you were so kind to me and got me to open up to you. When I travelled through my Hyrule, there were a lot of people that I couldn't trust because I was being hunted down by assassins..." he tells me. 'I already know this, but he doesn't know that so I wonder why he is telling me this. It looks like he isn't finished yet'. "Because of that I became a bit... distrusting of people. It actually took me a few weeks to fully warm up to the group" he laughs bashfully. "With you it is different" he continues, "I feel safe around you... and happy". He looks away from me, avoiding eye contact.

I lift my hand to his face and turn him to look at me again. "Wild, I feel the same. I never would have thought someone could make me feel this way" I say while still holding his face and gently caressing it.

'I think that the feeling in question might even be...love? I think he might feel the same. I must tell him!'

"W-Wild I..." "Wow, will you just look at that! How courageous of you to try and confess. A true shame that I have to interrupt" a mocking voice interrupts before I can continue. I flinch at the voice and pull my hand away from Wild's face. A hurt look appears on his face which I don't miss, but I'm too interested and frightened by the voice.

"What do you want?" I scream at the voice. "Y/n? Are you ok? I'm sorry if I upset you..." Wild mumbles an unnecessary apology. "No it's not you. Don't you hear that?" I ask him with panic lacing my voice. "No, no he doesn't hear me. And for your information, I'm a him and not a "that". It's rude to address people as if they are things. Also, if you wish to know what I want then why don't you come a little closer" the voice jumps in again. I can hear the smirk in it's his voice.

A sudden rumbling sound comes from behind me. When I turn around I notice how the wall opened up to reveal pure darkness. I could hear Wild moving to unsheathe his sword, but before he can do anything, a long, shadowy tendrill comes out of the chamber and pulls me in by my ankle. Everything happens so fast and the moment the door closes behind me, so do my eyes.

After a while I regain consciousness, but I keep my eyes closed. My body feels heavy and roughed up, and unfortunately I can't stop a groan from escaping. "Finally! You're awake. Do you have any idea how long you made me wait? If it wasn't for my instructions I would have smacked you to wake you up" the voice from before tells me with an annoyed tone.

I use my arms to lift me upward into a sitting position before looking at the source of the voice. My eyes widen in shock when I see him, on top of a dead tree is Dark Link, looking down at me menacingly.

"Dark Link? Why are you here and what do you want?!" I shout at him. He tsks at me before jumping down and disappearing into the dark background. "I personally have no interest in a boring girl that isn't even from Hyrule, but my master does. That is why I am here" he says while reappearing behind me, making me jump in surprise.

"What master?" I ask in confusion. "You ask a lot of questions, dumb girl" he looks at me with a disgusted expression. "I expected you to be smarter since he chose you but I guess I was wrong. You ask who he is yet you already met him in your dream" he flicks my forehead. 'That dream wasn't just a nightmare?! Why is someone that Dark Link sees has his master interested in me?'. "He told me that he prepared you in that dream and said you were ready to receive a little something that I will give you" he continues.

A sadistic grin appears on his face before a dark orb materialises in his hand. With full force he pushes it into my chest. The impact of his hand making contact with my chest sends my flying into the floor.

"Now then. Since I finished my job you can go. I don't want to remain in your moronic presence any longer. Do say hello to your failure of a hero from me" he instructs me.

I cough at the pain in my chest where he pushed as darkness once again invaded my vision. I try to squirm when I feel someone hustling me but quickly stop when I notice that it doesn't feel evil. Whomever is holding me is carefully holding me now with warm, strong arms. It's like someone is carrying me with urgency.

'But...Who is carrying me and where are they taking me?'

-Twilight-

"...Twilight. He is quite adept with navigating temples and dungeons. I have no doubt he can take good care of you" Time decides. My eyes look over to Twilight, who also coincidentally looks back. He smiles reassuringly and nods. "For the other groups..." Time begins to team up the boys that are left, yet his words fade out when Twilight approaches me.

"It was very brave of you to say what you did. I can count the number of people that are so willing to help us with dungeons on one hand" he compliments me, his lips still curved upward. I cross my arms over my chest and smirk."I may have no idea how to handle a dungeon, but I do know how to handle you, and someone needs to make sure that you don't do something silly" I joke.

Twilight stares at me for a few seconds before chuckling. "Then it is good that I got paired up with you. Goddess forbid if I was left unsupervised" he plays along. I laugh. The amused twinkle in his eyes seems to grow brighter with every laugh that leaves my mouth.

"Alright, now that the teams are assembled, we need to discuss our dungeon strategy so our newest member," Time says while nodding at me, "will know what to expect". Although his words are mostly meant for me, everyone stops talking and pays attention to Time's words. 'Sometimes so rowdy and other times so well behaved...'

"When we enter a dungeon it is important that we stay together. We only split into the small groups we assembled if we come across a split path. I don't want any of you boys, and girl, walking alone. It is dangerous to go alone" he finishes ominously.

I tense slightly and Twilight, who apparently stands closer than expected, places a firm yet gentle hand on my shoulder. I lift my hand to grip his and speak, "Well then, let us go in". That phrase seems to set everyone in motion as they march into the opening of the dungeon.

Upon entry, the hall looks almost like a cave. The rocky walls are irregular and sharp, some liquid dripping down from them in certain areas. The air is moist, but not pleasant like the smell of rain.

We walk down the hallway and encounter many twists and turns. It feels like hours have passed, which is probably true. The calm silence that hangs over the group is suddenly interrupted by Four's voice.

"It looks like we'll have to split after all" he says while pointing at the many twisting paths in front of us. "Everyone knows the drill so just choose a path and enter with your assigned partner" Time says while looking around to see if anyone has any objections. Naturally, everyone agrees, and if by some miracle some person would not be ok with the arrangement they would get a silencing glare from Time.

As some of the boys already leave into their hallway of choice, I still stare at one particular path. With its relatively smooth wall and steady looking floor this way seems like a good option. I glance beside me to Twilight, who wordlessly agrees to my question before I even ask it by taking my hand in his and walking forward.

Although this way looked very peaceful, the further we go, the more I regret going this way. An uneasy feeling blooms from my chest and spreads throughout my body like a virus.

Twilight, ever the empath, gently tugs at my hand to make me look at him. My anxious e/c eyes meet his calm electric blue ones. "Y/n," he begins, "are you alright? You seem very disturbed... Is there anything I can do for you?".

His question alone makes me feel slightly better. My surroundings still feel off, but at least I'm not by myself. 'Twilight always makes me feel...
