Joey's POV

"Wake up Meghan..." I sang close to her ear. I was already dressed in some comfortable skinny jeans and a t-shirt.

Today was Friday, the first day we would be going to the hospital. Thursday was a blur, a blur with its specialties. Meghan and I just sat, talked about honestly everything, and watched our anime. I even managed to get a vlog or two during that time. It was a good day, and 'good' was the only feeling I could really get out of that day. Today, on the other hand, I didn't know what I could expect.

Meghan moaned, still half asleep, "Good morning," she whispered, probably the only volume she could force out.

"We have to leave," I reminded her, checking the alarm clock on the small night table reading 7:03. "We need to be there for 8."

"Okay" She said, picking herself up with her elbows. "I'll be down in half an hour or so." she finished, walking towards the room's bathroom.

I sat in the waiting room once again, tapping my heel on the floor repetitively. I was waiting again, waiting for Meghan's name called for the countless time. I was stuck in the same moody hospital again, not sure how long I would have to stay here this time, but I guess you never know.

"Meghan Camarena?" I heard, looking up with the sound of Meghan's name. My heart jumped when I recognized the familiar face, Lillian.

"Uh yeah" Meghan said as she sat up from the pale blue seat.

"Follow me." Lillian said before turning on her heal and turning right. We walked down a short hallway before turning into a large room with with several people sitting down in different parts of the room. Along the back wall, were different scanners and beds.

"We are going to do a couple scans on you to see whether the condition is worsening quickly or if you have more time on your hands." Lillian said, finishing with a small chuckle in attempt of lightening the mood.

She turned to me, "You are going to have to wait in the waiting room sir." she said, ushering me back towards the people filled room. I looked into Meghan's eyes once again, waiting for her look of approval. She nodded slightly, my cue to walk back to the room.

I sat back down in the same pale chair as before, a frown on my face and my heart literally being ripped out of my chest by everything around me. Everything, and everyone, had at least one string leading to my heart and my heart was getting pulled out, slowly but surely. Each string constantly being driven farther and farther away from my heart, hurting more and more with every tug. And the string that pulls the hardest on your heart, is death itself.
