Prompt- Liam falls out of a tree

Liam's pov

We have just finished our on the road again tour and we are all board. We are all playing a bit of football outside in our garden. Louis kicks the ball and it lands in the top branch of the tallest tree in the garden. I say "I'll go and get it." Niall says to me "Be careful babe" I nod and start to climb the tree.

Once I am at the top I carefully grab the ball with one hand and I yell to the others "I'LL CHUCK THE BALL DOWN FIRST." I carefully throw the ball and I slowly start to climb out of the tree. I haven't even got a quarter of the way down when I loose my footing I scream and start to fall the rest of the way. I feel my head hit something hard then nothing.

Niall's pov

Liam has just thrown the ball down to us and he starts to climb back down the tree. I hear him screaming but then it stops. I run over to the base of the tree and see him unconscious with blood coming from his head, nose arm and leg. I yell worried for my Lili's health "Someone call an ambulance." Louis rushes over and says "I'll go and get some cloths. Harry is calling an ambulance now" I nod and watch my boyfriend. I bite my lip to try and stop the tears from falling.

A couple of minutes later both Harry and Louis run over to me. I take one cloth and gently try and find the cut on Liam's head without moving him too much. Harry says "The ambulance should be here in a five minutes" I nod and look down at Liam who is unconscious and barely breathing.

About five minutes later the paramedics rush over and loads Liam onto the stretcher and says "One person can come with us" I nod and say "I'll go" both Louis and Harry nods and I follow the paramedics out to the ambulance. When we are going to the hospital the paramedics hook Liam up to oxygen and one of them asks me "How far down the tree did he fall?" I say "I think he got about a quarter of the way down the tree we were by." The paramedic nods and we arrive at the hospital.

Liam get rushed straight back and I am told to wait in the waiting room. I burry my face in my hands and I sob silently whilst I wait for Harry and Louis.

About ten minutes later I feel gentle hands on my back and I look up and see Harry sat one side of me and Louis on the other. Louis says "any news?" I shake my head and burry my face back in my hands again as Louis and Harry rub my back.

About an hour later still Niall's pov

I hear someone say "Liam Payne." We are instantly up and I am the first one to the nurse I say to the nurse "How is he? Is he alright?" The nurse takes us into a room and says "Liam is awake but he has quite a few injuries. He has broken 2 ribs, broken his left arm in 2 places, broken his right leg in 2 places, he has a concussion and some minor memory loss. He remembers most of today but he says it is a little fuzzy. He has had surgery to set the bones in his leg and arm " I nod and say "Can we see him" the nurse nods and says "He is dosed up on pain medications at the moment though so he might be drowsy for a while." We all nod and the nurse takes us to Liam's room where the doctor is finishing up the final parts of Liam's checks.

As soon as Liam spots me he smiles and says "My Nini" I smile at him and take his hand that isn't in the cast. I say to him comfortingly "How do you feel babe?" He says vulnerably "I'm tired and hurt everywhere" the doctor says "The pain medication should kick in soon" we all nod and the doctor says "Buzz if you need anything" I nod and the doctor leaves the room. Liam says to me quietly "Nini can I have a gentle cuddle?" I nod and I carefully get onto his bed and allow him to cuddle into me. I gently smooth his hair out of his face and I smile down at him. I kiss him on the forehead. I say to him "You had me so worried babe. I'm glad you are alright now though" Liam nods and yawns but winces in pain and holds his chest with his good hand. I gently rub his back and kiss him on the forehead again. "Why don't you go to sleep babe" Liam nods slightly and tries to get comfortable before he falls asleep

A few hours later still Niall's pov

A nurse walks in and says "visiting hours are over but one person is allowed to stay with Liam since we need someone with him constantly." Everyone nods and I say "I'll stay with him" everyone nods and Louis says "We will see you tomorrow" I nod and Harry and Louis leaves the room along with the nurse leaving me alone with my Liam. I smile and Liam starts to wake up with a groan. I say to Liam "Hey babe how do you feel?" Liam groans and says not quite awake yet "Hurt everywhere" I pout and press the button to see if Liam can have any more pain killers.

Liam's doctor walks through the door and says "Hello boys I was just about to come and check on you Liam. How do you feel?" Liam whines and says still not awake "I hurt everywhere. Especially my chest, left arm, right leg and my head. Why do I hurt everywhere?" I say to him "You fell out of a tree babe." The doctor looks at his chart and says "I can't give you any pain medication yet. You are due for some in about an hour. If they were normal pain killers then I might have let you have some but because they are strong pain killers I can't" we both nod and I say "Is there anything we can do to help Liam not be in this much pain?" The doctor says "Liam don't hold your breath it will make it worse and I can get some ice packs to help a little" I nod and look at Liam who is crying silently and the doctor leaves the room to get ice packs.

Liam says "It hurts to breath Nini" I gently rub his back and say "I know babe but you shouldn't hold your breath alright babe." Liam asks me in tears "Ni why does it hurt to breath?" I respond to him "You have broken some ribs when you fell out of the tree" Liam nods and the doctor comes back in and says "Hold that on his chest for no longer than twenty minutes" I nod and gently place the ice pack on Liam's chest. Liam looks up at me with tears running down his face. The doctor says "I'll be back in an hour to give him some more pain medication" I nod and the doctor leaves the room. Liam cuddles into me more being careful of his leg and arm. I rub his good arm and say to him "How's the pain in your chest now?" He says "Hurts still" I nod and say "Why don't you try and sleep yeah. I'll be here when you wake up" Liam looks up at me and says "You promise?" I nod and say "I promise I'll be here when you wake up" Liam nods and closes his eyes. I gently smooth his hair knowing it helps him to get to sleep.

About an hour later still Niall's pov

Liam has slept for about an hour now. I did take the ice pack off once Liam had it on for twenty minutes. Liam's doctor comes in and says "Aww. How long has been asleep for?" I respond "About an hour now. At least if he is asleep he won't feel too much pain" the doctor nods and says "I'll give him some more pain medication now" I nod and the doctor puts the pain medication in the IV drip luckily he stays asleep." The doctor says "I'll be back in the morning to check him then we might see about releasing him with some strong pain medication and a wheelchair so he can get around a little easier" I nod and the doctor leaves the room. I follow Liam to sleep.

The next morning still Niall's pov

I get woken up by a flash of light and Harry saying "Louis you left your flash on" I open my eyes and laugh slightly. They both look over at me and says "morning Niall how was Liam last night?" I respond "He was up every hour in quite a bit of pain. Although he has slept from about 4am until now. It is the longest he has slept all night." Both Harry and Louis nods.

About five minutes later Liam starts whining in pain and he opens his eyes "NiNi. I hurt everywhere" I pout and say "I know babe." Liam says "I just wanna go home" I nod and the doctor comes in and says "Morning. How are you today Liam?" Liam whines and I say "He was up quite a bit in the night in a bit of pain and now he has only just woken up" the doctor nods and says "Sorry Liam this is probably not what you want when you have just woken up but I need to check you then you might be able to be released today" Liam nods and the doctor checks Liam over. The doctor says once he has finished his checks "I am happy that your concussion is healing and your ribs are healing well as well. I am going to release you today. I will give you some prescription pain medication to take for the first week that you are home then if it still hurts you can take normal paracetamol. You will also need to use a wheelchair since you have broken one leg and one arm so I will bring one in along with the release forms and medication and a paper with some breathing exercises you need to do with Liam" we all nod and the doctor leaves the room.

About ten minutes later the doctor comes back in with the release forms and papers with the breathing exercises, pain medication and a wheelchair. I sign the release forms for Liam and I help Liam to sit up slowly. Once Liam is sat up he says "Wait a minute." Liam takes a few breaths before he says "I'm good" I nod and support all of his wight into the wheelchair. The doctor adjusts the foot rest and says "You are good to go. If the pain in his chest doesn't get better in 3 weeks then bring him back. Other than that come back in 8 weeks to get the casts off" I nod and the doctor smiles and sees us out.

Once we get to the car Louis says "Li you will probably be more comfortable in the front where you can rest your leg out more." Liam nods and I help him in the car and I help him to strap in. I smile at him and kiss him on the forehead before saying "Are you comfortable enough?" Liam nods and smiles at me. I nod and get in the back with Harry.

Once we are home I get the wheelchair out of the boot and I set it up before wheeling it round to Liam. I gently unstrap him and I help him out of the car before I put him in the wheelchair. I push him up to the house. Once we are in the house I help Liam onto the sofa where he cuddles into me.

8 weeks later no one's pov

Liam felt much better and his casts get taken off and they all make an agreement that no one is allowed to climb a tree so something like this can't happen again.
