Liam's pov

Today I have woken up feeling rubbish. Louis (Who is my husband since 2016) is in the studio recording for his second solo album. I had a lay in. Normally I wake up around 8 or 9 when Louis leaves but I woke up at 11:30. I walk sluggishly downstairs shivering and I see Freddie who is 4 and Bear who is 3 sat on the sofa together watching Paw Patrol. They would have been at nursery today but I have the day off so I am spending time with them. We both decided that we wanted kids and Freddie's biological dad is Louis and Bear's biological dad is me. We both take responsibility for both of them and I am papa and Louis is daddy. Bear spots me and runs over to me "PAPA" I pick bear up say "Morning cub. Morning Fred" Freddie looks over and says "Morning papa. Is daddy at work?" I say "Yeah he is."

I feel a tickle in my throat so I put Bear down and cough into my elbow Freddie says "Papa are you good?" I finish my coughing fit and say "Yeah I'm good Freddie" I sit on the sofa with the boys and Freddie puts his little hand on my head "Papa you feel warm. I call daddy" Freddie is such a caring boy I say "Don't worry Freddie. We don't need to call daddy. What do you want for breakfast?" Freddie says "Papa it is lunch time. Not breakfast time" I smile at the boy and say "What would you like for lunch then boys?" Freddie says "Ham and cheese sandwich please papa" I nod and say "What do you want for lunch Bear?" Bear says "The same as Fweddie pwease" I smile at them and say "Coming right up"

I go into the kitchen and allow my brave face to fall. I really don't feel well. I do wish Louis was here. A tear makes its way down my face and I go into another coughing fit. I hear small feet patter into the kitchen "Papa" I feel a small hand on my back gently patting it. Once I manage to stop I wipe my eyes and look up and see Freddie "You ok Fred?" Freddie nods and says "I'm calling daddy" I say "Don't call daddy I'm alright Freddie I promise. Go and sit back with your brother and I'll make your lunch" Freddie nods and goes back into the living room.

Freddie's pov

I am going to call daddy. Papa isn't feeling well. There is a nasty virus going around papa might have that. I go into the living room and Bear says "Papa otay Fweddie?" I shake my head "I'm calling daddy" Bear nods and I get papa's phone and find daddy's picture before I press the button with the phone icon. I put the phone to my ear and daddy picks up after it rings three times "Hi Liam" I say "It is Freddie daddy" daddy says "Fred where's papa?" I say "Papa is making lunch. Papa keeps on coughing and feels warm daddy. He might have the naughty virus" daddy says "Does papa know you called me Freddie?" I say "No papa didn't want me to call you" Papa walks in with two sandwiches and he says "Who are you talking to Freddie?" I say "No one papa" daddy says "Freddie let me talk to papa yeah" I end the call not wanting to let daddy talk to papa. Papa takes his phone as his phone starts ringing.

Liam's pov

Freddie hangs up the phone and I take my phone as Louis rings me. I answer and say "Hello Lou" Louis says "Is what Freddie said true?" I say "I don't know what did Freddie say?" Louis responds "That you keep on coughing and you feel warm and that you might have the virus?" I go into the kitchen not wanting the boys to see me cry. "Yes it is. I really don't feel well." Louis says "I'll be home in ten minutes" I say "No don't cut the studio time short" Louis responds "I am. My husband is home sick with two children under five and if you have COVID then I am not allowed to be here anyways" I nod and say "Please hurry home. I just wanna sleep but I don't want to leave the boys" Louis says "I'll be home as soon as I can. I promise. See you soon" I say "See you soon" Louis ends the call and I wipe my eyes before going back to the living room.

I see both Freddie and Bear wearing doctors role play and Bear says "Papa. Fweddie and me are gonna get you better" Freddie says "Papa lay down" I nod and lay down on the sofa. Freddie puts his hand on my head and says "Papa you feel warmer than earlier" I nod and Bear puts his toy stethoscope on my chest. I am so out of if it I don't know what is going on. I feel something going in my ear and Freddie says "Papa I am taking your temperature" I nod not really caring. Bear says to me "Papa are you sweepy?" I nod "A little darling" Freddie says to me "Go to sleep papa." I shake my head "I need to wait for daddy to get home first"

About five minutes later Louis walks through the door and says "Boys let's leave papa to sleep." Bear says "We were hewping papa feel better daddy" I smile at him and sit up. I say "Now you are here Lou I'm gonna lay down in bed I really don't feel well" Louis nods and I stand up and I walk sluggishly back to my bedroom. I fall on the bed feeling utterly exhausted and I fall asleep.

Louis pov

Freddie says "Daddy does papa have the naughty virus?" I say "I don't know Fred. We need to book papa a special test so we can find out" Bear says "Papa otay?" I say "Papa will be ok" I go online to book us all a PCR test so we all know if we have it or not. Bear says "Daddy I tired" I say "It is nap time for you Bear let's get you up to bed. Freddie do you want to come with me?" I pick Bear up and Freddie nods and follows me to Bear's room. I lay Bear on the changing mat and quickly change his nappy. I lay Bear in bed with his stuffed dog that he can't sleep without and he falls asleep straight away.

I say to Freddie "Let's go and check on papa yeah Fred" Freddie nods and we go into mine and Liam's room but Liam isn't in bed. Freddie says "Where's papa?" I hear quiet cries coming from the bathroom followed by a string of coughs. I say "Freddie you stay in here I will go and check on papa" Freddie nods and sits on our bed.

I go into the bathroom and see Liam sat on the toilet with tears running down his face as he coughs violently into his elbow. I walk over to him and gently rub his back. He looks up at me and I say "Oh babe. You are burning up." I grab the thermometer out of the cupboard and I gently place it in Liam's ear. I press the button once it beeps I take it out of his ear and say "39.3" I grab a flannel and run it under cold water then I put it on the back of Liam's neck. I say to him "Do you think you have finished?" Liam nods and I turn around to give Liam some privacy. Liam leans his head on my shoulder. I gently hug him as he cries. I kiss his forehead. I say "I have booked a PCR for all of us. It is at 4:00pm" Liam nods.

I take him into our bedroom and Freddie says "Are you ok papa?" Liam nods and gets into bed. I put the cold cloth on Liam's head and he falls asleep. Freddie says "Daddy why did you put the flannel on papa's head?" I say "Because papa is too hot. Do you want to feel his neck gently so we don't wake papa up?" Freddie nods and I guide Freddie's hand to Liam's neck and gently place it on there "Papa is hot" Freddie pulls his hand away from Liam's neck as Liam starts coughing. He sits up and continues to cough. Liam starts to struggle to breath because he is coughing to much. Freddie starts crying. I want to take Freddie downstairs but I don't want to leave Liam struggling to breath. I say "Freddie go to your room. I'll get you when papa has finished" Freddie nods and runs out of the room and to his room.

I say to Liam. "Calm down Li." I pull his hand to my chest and I start breathing calmly "Copy my breathing babe" Liam slowly copies my breathing and calms down. I say "Are you alright now" Liam nods and says "Did I scare Freddie?" I nod and say "Don't worry. I'll go talk to Fred" Liam nods and I go to Freddie's room. I walk in and see him crying. I sit on Freddie's bed and say "Hey Fred come here" Freddie crawls over to me and sits on my lap "Papa otay?" I say "Papa is fine now buddy. I promise" I kiss his head and say "Would you like to go and see papa?" Freddie nods and I lift him up on my hip and carry him to mine and Liam's room.

Liam smiles at us when we walk through the door and he says "Hi Freddie. Sorry I scared you Freddie Teddy" Freddie giggles a little at the nickname for him and says "Papa are you ok now?" Liam nods "Yeah I am Fred" Liam smiles at him and says "I love you Fredster" Freddie says "Love you too papa." I say to Freddie "Shall we let papa sleep." Freddie nods and says "Papa go to sleep" Liam smiles and closes his eyes.

At 3:50 still Louis pov

I look at the time and see that we need to go to get to where our PCR test is going I say "Boys stay here and I am going to wake papa up" both boys nod and I go upstairs and gently shake Liam "Li wake up babe." Liam's eyes slowly opens and he whines and I say "I know babe. We need to get to the tests" Liam nods and stands up. He sways a bit so I steady him so he doesn't fall over. I help Liam downstairs and I say "Come on boys let's go" both boys nod and we go to my car. I slide Liam in before I help Freddie in and help him to strap in. Freddie says "Thank you daddy" I say "Your welcome buddy" I help Bear into his car seat and strap him in before turning it around to face the back of the car he says "Tank you daddy" I smile and say "Your welcome buddy" I get in the car myself and see that Liam has fallen asleep. I smile and start to drive to where the PCR tests are being taken.

When we get there I gently wake Liam up and say "Li babe. You need to wake up for a minute" Liam nods and opens his eyes. We all get the PCR test done and Bear did not like it one bit. He started crying as soon as the swab went up his nose. He is still crying now because no one is allowed to get out of the car at the PCR test location and I decide to park somewhere so I can comfort Bear. Once I found somewhere to park I get out of the car and go to Bear's door and I open it. I unstrap Bear and he instantly raises his arms to be picked up and he says "Dadddyyy". I lift the sobbing three year old and say "Hey shhh. Your alright" Bear says "Daddy me no likey" I say "I know cub. You are alright now though" Bear nods and I bounce him to try and comfort him. Once he is calm I say "Shall we go home and play on the trampoline?" Bear nods excitedly and I put him back in his car seat and strap him in.

I get back in the car and drive back home. Once we are home I gently shake Liam awake and say "Li babe. We are home. Go up to bed" Liam nods and coughs into his elbow. I gently pat his back. Once he is finished he says "I don't want to leave incase you need help" I say "Li go and get some sleep I will be fine with the boys" Liam nods and goes into the house "Come on boys let's go and play in the garden for a bit." They both nod and I help them out of the car and we go into the garden.

A couple of days later still Louis' pov

I have got the test results through from the PCR tests. I open the email and see that only Liam is positive for COVID. I go upstairs to Liam "Only you have COVID babe" Liam nods and I say "How are you feeling today?" Liam shrugs "I still don't feel well." He starts crying and says "When am I going to get better?" I gently hug him and say "Hey Shh your going to be fine in a couple of days. I promise" Liam nods.

10 days later no one's pov

Liam is feeling loads better. Both boys went back to nursery and Liam and Louis went back to work and no one else got COVID.
