When they gathered their army to fight against the Cinder King and his children, they form a plan by the army will be focusing on the battle while Vox Machina deals with the hatchlings and Thordak with their vestige. Thankfully Raishan knows a secret passage that's small enough for people to enter. Right now, Vox machina are flying to the layer while the army goes on foot to face the hatchlings. Avoiding the hatchling guards to head to the secret entrance.

Vax: Thankfully, we still have Raishan's entrance.

Pike: And if it isn't there?

YN: Then all hell's loose.

Vex: I see it. Land there.

Vex leads the party to the hidden passage where they landed. But when they got there, the entrance is sealed.

Keyleth: No. She sold us out.

Vex: Its sealed?

Pike takes a closer look and sees its still hot.

Pike: Still hot. Thordak must've melted it shut less than an hour ago.

Vex: Grog, can you punch through this?

Grog: (Nods.) But it won't be quiet.

Grog gets to work while YN looks at the ground force. Thanks to his enhance sight, he notice the hatchlings aren't attacking and wonders what are they waiting until it pops in his head.

YN: Grog, stop!

Thankfully Grog was few inches from punching when he heard the witcher.

Grog: Huh?

Scanlan: What? Why stop now?

Pike: We just gotta punch through the seal-

Everyone: What?

Vax: How do you know?

YN: Those hatchlings aren't attacking the ground force. Which means they're waiting for something.

Vex: What for?

YN: (Gasp.) They're waiting for Thordak. Think about it, why would he stay in his nest without the hatchlings guards warning him?

Just then the cave started to rumble.

Grog: I didn't even punch anything.

Pike: I don't think that's you, big guy.

Keyleth: God dammit! I told you we couldn't trust her.

Vax: Wait, then that means...

Vex: (Realize.) Father.

With the ground forces, they were ambushed by Thordak who emerge from underground to break the ground force positions and roars. From a distance Vex sees it was an ambush.

Vex: What have I done?

They dragons surrounded the ground forces and starts slaughtering them with fire.

Vex heads back to the party where they see it from the cliff.

Grog: This is bad.

Keyleth: They came to help us. A-and now...

YN: They're being slaughtered.

Pike: Thordak wasn't supposed to leave the eggs. We were gonna ambush him!

YN: It was Raishan, she must've warn Thordak before giving us the secret passage.

Keyleth: Well, we can't just stay here. We have to do something.

Vax: There's nothing we can do.

YN: No, there's plenty that we can do.

Vax: What are you gonna do? Go down there and kill as many as you can?

YN: Our friends are dying down there while we're sneaking our way to the nest!

Scanlan: Okay. Plan's down the crapper. Anyone got a better one?

Grog: Percy would know what to do.

YN: We go down there, join the main force, and fight Thordak.

Vax: What about the rest of those eggs? They're about to hatch. I say we stick to the strategy. Get to the nest while the army holds off the front.

Pike: YNs right, they were only supposed to fight the little ones, not Thordak!

Keyleth: Besides, Raishans tunnel doesn't exist. We can't get in.

Vax: There's still the main entrance.

Pike: Oh, oh, the one with Thordaks kids patrolling? The one we said was too dangerous? That one?

YN: Only way to go to the entrance is to draw them away before we get in. And we don't have time for that. Heck, the ground forces don't have enough time!

Vex: Brother, we can't just leave the others. Thordak will wipe them out in two minutes.

Scanlan: And with our help we can push that to what, three?

Grog: FUCK THIS NOISE. WE DO BOTH!

everyone became silent before Grog forms a plan.

Grog: Keyleth, YN, Pike, go help the army. The twins will join once they get me and Scan into the nest. We smash the eggs. You smash the crystal. Any questions?

Scanlan: (Surprised.) Dude, that was impressive.

YN: Since when the hell did you become a god of war?

Grog: (Confused.) Dog of what? Sorry, I blacked out there for a sec. What'd I say?

Scanlan: Come on, Brainiac. Let's fly.

Vox machina gets to work and split up as we see the ground force are regrouping and taking down the hatchlings with ballista's and taking down the ones on ground. Soon Keyleth, YN, and Pike arrives before Pike jumps off and slam the hatchling with a mace before it could kill Kima and Allura.

Allura: What happened? Why are you back?

Another hatchling was about to attack until a witcher lands on it and stab its head with the spear as the creature crash landed in front of them.

YN: We saw Thordak attacking you guys and we couldn't leave you all here.

Keyleth: Plus, uh, we didn't want you to die alone. (Fake chuckle.) Its a-its a bad joke.

YN: No argument here. (Drinks elixir.) I'd rather fight off the hatchlings than being distracted. No offense.

Keyleth: (Sigh.) None taken.

They fight off the hatchlings while figuring out their next move.

Pike: We need to get the soldiers out of here, now!

Syldor: To where exactly?

YN: Anywhere that's away from the dragons.

Cassandra: Follow me. We'll double back against Thordak and keep him busy.

Syldor: You'd condemn us. We should rush the young ones and try to punch through.

Pike: Don't you two get it? They got us boxed in with no way out!

YN: Move aside, I'll try to clear a path!

YN uses his vestige to break the wall down until out of nowhere, the wall suddenly got destroyed.

Revealing Kash and Zahra who arrived.

Zahra: You were saying, dear?

Cassandra: (To soldiers.) Through that wall! Hurry!

Pike: Let's go!

Keyleth: Zahra! Kash!

YN: What kept you, guys?

Kash: Oh, you know. Making a badass entrance for love.

YN: Excuse me?

Keyleth: Oh, um I'm not-

Zahra: Don't flatter yourselves, guys.

Zahra and Kash kiss in front of the others.

YN: Okay, you guys are definitely showing off.

Zahra: Oh relax, wolf boy. Now that we've arrived, we might actually have a chance.

Kash: Ah, you know. Small chance, anyway.

The four go face Thordak who's taking down some of the ballista along with the soldiers within seconds by the fire.

YN: We gotta prevent more casualties!

Pike: I'm on it. Keyleth, get me down there.

Keyleth fly low enough for Pike to jump off and uses her vestige to absorb the fire breath until it got unstable.

Pike: No, no, no, no, no!

Pike miss fire as it knocks her out and the beam accidentally hits Keyleth wings.

When they fall, YN landed and caught Keyleth before she could hit the ground.

YN: You all right?

Keyleth: (Groans.) Y-yeah.

The witcher helps her up before they notice Raishan walking around.

Keyleth: Raishan?

YN has his spear vestige ready to fight Raishan but she suddenly vanished.

YN: Something doesn't feel right with Raishan.

Keyleth: What is she...?

Soldier: Run!

2nd soldier: the ground! Its unstable!

Keyleth: Stay close!

Keyleth uses her earth magic to block the lava before the dragon hatchlings are coming from behind.

YN throws the spear at some of them until the last one got too close for his throw. Fortunately Vax arrive just in time to knock it away with a kick.

YN: Vax, glad to see you're here. What about Scanlan and Grog?

Vax: They're in.

Keyleth: I saw Raishan. And she wasn't helping.

Vax: At least she's not fighting against us.

YN: Something's not right with Raishan.

Vax: What do you mean?

YN: Remember back in Whitestone? Raishan was acting...desperate for us to kill the cinder king. He's the only one who knows about her cure and yet she wants him dead. There's definitely something we're not seeing. I know it.

Keyleth: I don't like it.

Vax: We'll have to figure it out later. Right now-

Vex: Incoming!

Thordak crashes through their cover and breaths fire before YN uses Quen to shield everyone from the fire until Zahra and Kash with Zahra blasting magic at Thordaks face.

Zahra: Over here, fugly!

Thordak chase after the couples. Luckily Zahra uses her magic to make a platform construct to hover and move fast.

Kash: So, uh, what are we doing for dinner?

Zahra: Kash, I wish you would take things a little more seriously.

Suddenly they see the tail coming right at them and they jump off from getting hit and landed. But then the hatchlings are coming right towards them.

Kash: That's no good. Cover me, babe?

Zahra: Right. Careful.

Zahra fights off the hatchlings while Kash uses his magic to create more spear construct against Thordak.

Kash: Here goes nothin'.

He throws all the spear construct right at Thordaks crystal as the party and Zahra watch from a distance. Soon Kash fights Thordak solo which surprisingly last longer than expected.

Kash: (Laughs.) Oh, that stung! Come on, big boy.

Thordak: Enough!

Thordak was about to slam Kash to the ground, but he felt a needle on his shoulder and saw it was a spear before it exploded. Thordak turn around saw it was the witcher and before the dragon could do anything, YN quickly uses Yrden to slow down the dragon.

YN: Zahra, pull him out now!

Despite Thordak destroy the magic trap, Zahra had enough time to pull Kash away from Thordak. The dragon breathes fire at YN who uses Quen to shield himself, but it wasn't enough to hold it longer. Fortunately the soldiers fire the ballistas at Thordak who force to turn away and burns them down while Vax grabs YN who was exhausted and they all got to cover.

Vax: You all right?

YN: That took a lot of magic out of me. But I'll live.

Kash: YN, thanks for saving me.

YN: I'd slap you for being reckless if I didn't exhausted my magic.

Zahra: Allow me.

Zahra slaps Kash to the face.

Kash: Ow! What the hell!?

Zahra: That's for being reckless! You're lucky I still love you, darling.

Just then, Gilmore arrives to warn them.

Gilmore: Vax, we're running! Come on!

Vax: Shaun. Take YN and get out if here.

YN: Just because I exhausted my magic, doesn't mean this wolf can't bite. Not while that dragon is around.

Vax: Fine. (To Gilmore.) Take Zahra and Kash for some cover along the way.

Gilmore: What about you?

Vax: He's taken too many lives. We're finishing this.

Gilmore: Good luck, you handsome fool.

The party leaves Gilmore and the Take to fight off the cinder king.

YN: Okay, I'm asking this now. What our plan against Thordak?

Pike: Raishan said the soul anchor is the source if Thordaks power, right? So how do we hit it?

YN: Plate vestige won't work consider what happened the last time. No offense. So we'll have to try the alternative.

Vax gets an idea before speaking to Keyleth.

Vax: Kiki, ready for the big one?

Keyleth: Let's fucking go.

Vax: (To YN.) Cover us.

YN: (Nods.) Vex, I need a liff.

Vex: On it.

Vax carries Keyleth while Vex carries the rest on her broomstick once high enough, YN gets ready as he sees the hatchlings beneath them.

YN: Good luck.

Vex nods before YN jumps off and lands on one of the hatchlings to ride on it by stabbing its back to force it to cooperate. Using it to get closer to the other hatchlings to throw his spear as it exploded on the hatchlings. While that's happening, the party are focusing on Thordak as Vax and Keyleth make their move against Thordak.

Vax: Now!

With Vax vestige, he increase his flight speed and throws Keyleth right towards Thordak before she uses her fire magic to turn into a fire giant as she lunches the crystal with her fire magic.

It successfully knock Thordak away as Keyleth fell on the ground before Vax check on her.

Vax: Are you all right?

The hatchling fell with YN on top with the spear stuck in the hatchling head before he rips it off.

YN: Please tell me that worked.

Thordak laughs and gets back up before roars as it confirms that their attack failed.

Keyleth: Theres no way. That must've done something!

Vex: (Arrives.) Let's not stick around to find out!

Thordak blast fire at them, but luckily Pike stood in front of them and uses her vestige to absorb the fire.
