Y/N's POV

                It's been a few weeks since our first day.  My team and I were still trying to get hang of things, to continue to blend in and not cause too much trouble.  Our knowledge of Remnant continued to grow as well; learning of the Faunes and what they were, Dust, the Kingdoms, and other smaller things.  We were now in Professor Glynda's class and watched as Jaune and another Beacon student named Cardin, but it mainly seemed as though Cardin was the one fighting. Jaune breathed heavily as Cardin continued to chuckle at him. Building up the strength for another attack, Jaune pushed off his sword, charging toward the cocky armored student, only for him to dodge the simple slash and hit his shield out of his left hand with his mace.  The blonde-haired knight got back to his feet once more, making the same mistake and charged at him again without reclaiming his shield.  As they grew closer together, the two's weapons clashed against one another.

Cardin: This is the part where you lose...

Jaune: Over... my dead-!

                  With an audible loud grunt, Jaune fell to the floor after Cardin quickly knee kicked him in the crouch.  With the larger student now standing over Jaune, he brought up his mace, ready to deliver the final blow.  

                  Quickly summoning my Light Eater and jumping up onto the fighting ground, I deflected Cardin's attack, holding the tip of my blade to his chest.

Cardin: You little-

Y/N: The match is over Cardin...

Glynda: That's enough, Cardin. Thank you, Y/N.  Students, as you can see Mr. Arc's aura has now dropped into the red. In a tournament style duel, this would indicate that Jaune is no longer fit for battle and the official may call the match. Mister Arc, it's been weeks now please try to refer to your scroll during combat, gauging your aura will help you decide when it is appropriate to attack or when it's better to move to a more... defensive strategy. We wouldn't want you to be gobbled up by a Beowolf, now would we?

                  Jaune looked down at his scroll, sitting on the ground in defeat. 

Cardin: Speak for yourself.

Glynda: Remember everyone! The Vytal Festival is only a few months away, it won't be long before other students from the other kingdoms start arriving in Vale, so keep practicing! Those who choose to compete in the combat tournament will be representing all of Vale.

                 The Professor and Cardin walked off the stage, only Jaune and I up there.  I looked down at him as he sighed and shook his head.  Reaching my arm down in front of him, he looked up at me, smiling slightly before taking my hand and pulling himself up.

Y/N: You'll get the hang of it.  Just remember that every fight does not need to be fought head-on. 

                He nervously smiled and nodded before I patted his shoulder and walked out to get lunch.

(Time Skip)

                 My team, and teams RWBY and JNPR all sat at one large table, all of us subtly listening to Nora's "interesting" story.

Nora: There we were... In the middle of the night.

Ren: It was day...

Nora: We were surrounded by Ursai.

Ren: They were Beowolves...

Nora: DOZENS OF THEM!

Ren: Two of 'em...

Nora: But they were no match and in the end, Ren and I took them down, and we made a boatload of lien selling Ursa skin rugs!

Ren: Ah... She's been having this reoccurring dream for nearly a month now.

Gonzalo: Just give her coffee and then she won't-

Ren: No coffee... Never again.

                Pyrrha turned to Jaune, seeing the sad sulking face that he held at that moment, everyone else then also noticing.

Pyrrha: Jaune... Are you okay?

Jaune: Uh? Oh, yeah! Why?

Ruby: It's just that you seem a little... not okay.

Jaune: Eh, guys, I'm fine... Seriously, look!

Pyrrha: Jaune, Cardin's been picking on you since the first week of school.

Jaune: Who? Cardin Winchester? Nah... He just likes to mess around, you know?

Ruby: He's a bully.

Jaune: Oh, please... Name one time he's bullied me.

Gonzalo: Knocked books out of your hands, He activated your shield to get you stuck in a door frame, and when he shoved you into a rocket locker and launched you across the school.

Jaune: I didn't land far from the school.

Pyrrha: Jaune, you know if you ever need help you can just ask.

Nora: OOH! We'll break his legs!

Ruby: Y/N? Are you okay?

                    I clenched my fist as I watched from across the room, a young woman who happened to be a rabbit Faunes was being harassed and bullied by Cardin and his team.

Cardin: I told you it was real.

Sky: What a freak.

                  After those words reached my ears, I snapped. The feeling of an old emotion, similar to rage was running through my body. I calmly stood from the table, beginning to walk over to them until Justin spoke.

Justin: Where are you going?

                 I turned to face him, my eyes were no longer the black color they were normally, but glowing blood red. Not answering him, I continued toward Cardin, poking his shoulder in a gentle manner. He stopped what he was doing and turned his head, glaring at me over his shoulder.

Cardin: You... What do you want?

Y/N: What gives you the right to pick on this girl...?

Cardin: She's a Faunas! A freak! Don't tell me you're one of those-

                  Cutting him off, I picked him up by the collar of his student uniform, lifting him up in the air and staring Cardin directly in eyes.

Y/N: Say that again... Do it... or apologize to her.

                 He wore a worried face, his teammates all standing up and seemed as though they were going to fight me. Every eye in the cafeteria was us, waiting in anticipation for something to happen.

Cardin: Or what?

                 I narrowed my eyes.

Y/N: You'll very much regret that decision... Now...

                 Putting him back on the ground, I forced his body to turn toward the girl, slightly pushing him in her direction.

Y/N: ...say you're sorry.

                 The girl looked scarred, yet a little bit of hope was shown in her eyes as Cardin glanced at her without his frightening glare.

Cardin: I'm... sorry.

               She hesitated for a moment, most likely because of the shock, but nodded and walked away, not before smiling and giving me a small wave on her way out.  Before I began to walk back to the table, I shot a glare toward Cardin, only for him to fire his own back at me, and before I knew, he charged for me as I had my back turned to him. 

                Stopping in my tracks, my eyes shifted my left as I quickly brought up my right hand which quickly caught his fist that he tried to attack me with.

Y/N: You really are relentless, hm?

                Twisting his wrist slowly, I smiled with a look of satisfaction, as if I was enjoying seeing him fall to his knees and grunt in pain as I continued to stress the bones in his wrist.

Cardin: ARH!  G-GET HIM!

                Cardin's team raced to their leader's aid, only to face the same consequence.  I quickly let go of his wrist, bringing up my two fists and entering a fighting stance as the three sprinted toward me.  First, it was Sky, jumping over his downed leader and going in for a quick jab which I deflected with ease, hitting his left fist my right and his right fist with my left, leaving him open for a swift strike to the chest.  I kicked him hard, making him fly back a few feet, the air knocked out of him and out of the fight as he lied on the floor.

                 Next were the two remaining members, Russel and Dove.  It seemed while I had my encounter with Sky, they decided to try and flank me, the two of them coming from opposite sides.  My eyes burned brighter as if the fight was fueling me.  I shook my head, seeing the two now rushing me.  I smirked, waiting for the right moment, only to quickly step back and have to two run into each other, knocking the other one over.  They were dazed for a second, only to have quick look at me before I grabbed both of their heads and slammed them into each other, knocking them out. 

                 I looked at the ground, seeing Cardin stilling holding tightly to his wrist, rocking back and forth.  I chuckling softly, my eyes flicking and turning back to normal as I stepped away, turning back to the teams, only to see their horrified looks.  I then looked around the entire room, every student terrified as to what they witnessed.  What did I do?  Why did I feel so strange...?

                 Without even speaking a word, I charged out of the cafeteria, running across the courtyard and into the dormitory, slamming the door shut to our room.  I held a hand to my head, closing my eyes as my body started to warm up.

Y/N: Get out...  Leave me alone...!

               A voice then spoke within my mind.

??? : You know that isn't possible, Guardian.

Y/N: Why... why, why, WHY?!  How is to possible that you're still here?!

??? : I was always here, just dormant.  You never even got close to killing me.  You can't unless you take the risk of killing yourself.

Y/N: How are you back...?

??? : I suppose it has to do with us being so far from the Traveler?  Which is odd in itself since you still hold that shard in your pocket.  I guess I got lucky with your stupidity...  Now I get to make you suffer for as long as I wish! 

Y/N: NO!  I won't let you...

??? : Oh, but you don't have a say in that matter.  You have no strings to pull me down anymore.  I just have to become stronger... to take control.

Y/N: You... won't...

??? : I will.  I'll kill them all.  Every last person you know that you... that WE have an interest in.  Perhaps I should start with those girls down the hall.  Team... RWBY?  

Y/N: Stop it... GET... OUT...!

                His voice went silent, my body cooling down as I got back to my feet, only to hear the sudden but gentle knocks at the door.

Ruby: Y/N?

Y/N: Go... away.

Gonzalo: Y/N, what happened?

Matt: We want to help you.

Yang; Come on, you can tell us.

Y/N: No... YGH...!

                 I fell back onto the floor, grasping my head as the burning came back stronger than before, my voice no longer my own for a brief moment.

??? : You... can't... save... him...

                 It then went back to as it was, my body cooling completely and my breath now heavy.

Gonzalo: Who the... Who was that?

                I sighed, slowly getting to my feet and stumbling over to the door, opening it up to see all of my team and team RWBY.

Y/N: He's back...

(Time Skip)

                Gonzalo leaned against the wall next to the door, arms crossed as he knew was I meant.  Matt and Justin sitting on wither beds, knowing what was going on and tried to process the new information.  The girls, on the other hand, sat in the middle of the completely confused.

Gonzalo: I don't understand.  How is it possible that he's back?  Alex and the others helped banish him years ago with the Traveler's Light.  How is now that, that thing has returned?

Y/N: He said it's because we're so far from it's Light. 

Matt: Close enough for us to have our abilities but far enough for that thing to reawaken.  Wonderful...

Yang: Hey, um... sorry to interrupt, but what the heck is going on?

                We all looked at each other, giving each other worried glances before we all sighed.

Justin: They won't completely trust us afterward.

Ruby: What?

Matt: That's not really confirmed yet.  They'll have to actually listen to us first.

Ruby: Just explain it already! 

Weiss: What are you four hiding?

Y/N: *sighs* Ghost?

Ruby's POV

                 The girls and I all raised an eyebrow at what Y/N said.  A Ghost? I heard about ghosts in stories when I was little in the books that Yang read to me, but I didn't think they were real.  After a few seconds, there was a sound, and out behind Y/N's right shoulder was a small one-eyed metal drone.  It peeked out for a moment until Y/N gently pushed it toward us, the little metal pieces connected to it moving a little as it moved.  

                 I was in awe, my mouth wide open as it slowly moved toward us, the other girls holding different reactions, but the same level of shock from the little thing.  The drone named, "Ghost" then spoke to us in a robotic voice.

Ghost: Hello there.  I am Ghost, well, I'm Y/N's Ghost.  I am robotic being created by the-

Y/N: Alright, little guy.  No need to go that deep.  

Ghost: Hey, you said to introduce myself, and I did. 

Yang: What... is... going on?

                  Y/N and Ghost shared looks at one another before turning to us.

Y/N: We're not... from here.

Blake: Obviously.

Weiss: From the looks of your armor, it does seem more Atlas than Vale-

Y/N: No.  That's not what I mean.  We're not from Remnant.  

Weiss: ...You're joking.

Gonzalo: He's not.  And neither are we.  

                 Their tones were completely serious. 

Matt: We're known as Guardians: protectors and wielders of the Light... the last defenders of humanity and Last City on Earth...

Justin: But we're stuck here... on Remnant.

Y/N: We were gifted the power of the Light from something called the Traveler.  It was seen as God which brought our civilization to a Golden Age.  Humanity thrived for generations, colonizing other worlds and studying the massive orb that gave us so much.  That was... until something happened.  The end of our Golden Age, known as the Collapse occurred, the Traveler's enemy, the... the Fallen... bringing humanity near extinction.  If wasn't for the Traveler's last stand, we may have stayed dead, but with its Light, it banished the Darkness, sacrificing itself and brought life to the Ghosts.  They were tasked to finding warriors to wield its power for good, to stand against the coming evils that would eventually come.  My team and I... are Guardians. 

                The room went quiet, the four of us in complete and utter shock and confusion after hearing Y/N's crazy story.  How were we supposed to believe him?  There would be no possible way that what he was saying was true.  After a few seconds, Yang spoke. 

Yang: So... what you're saying is that you are powerful humans from another planet who hold powers that were given to you by some God thing which is now kind of dead but not dead enough to stop making this little-

Ghost: Don't call me little.

Yang: Alright, fine.  Sooo... you're aliens? 

Gonzalo: Holy crap... wait... are we actually aliens to them...?  

Y/N: No.  At least, I don't think so.  Look, I'm telling you something that is... very sensitive.  You can't tell anyone.  Ok?

Weiss: How are we supposed to believe you though?  What you're saying is absolutely insane!

Y/N: No doubt it is to you.  But I can tell that you're thinking about it right now.  

Weiss: What? 

Blakes: He's saying that we're conflicted.

Y/N: Indeed.  It's almost as if you want to believe it.

Ruby: I... uh... I mean... it wouldn't really be a bad thing to have super cool warriors from outerspace fighting beside us.

Weiss: Ruby...!

Ruby: What!  It would be!

Gonzalo: Not wrong.  We're kinda badass.

Matt: Dude.

Y/N: Look, you can believe us or not, but what I am saying is true.  Now... all I need to know is that you won't tell a single soul about us.  

               We all hesitantly nodded.

Y/N: Alright, thank the Traveler for that at least...

Ruby: S-So... Now that we know all of that... what was going on earlier?  Who were you talking about?

Y/N: Well... that's the scary part of everything.  That me you saw in the cafeteria?  The one that knocked out all of Cardin's team?  That wasn't "me".  It was... someone... something else.

Ruby: What do you mean?

Y/N: That someone else is a part of me, another soul I guess you could say.  I fused him with me in an experiment years ago... Reaper... A fragment of a crystal I stole from the Dreadnaught to have my friend study, only for us to come up with the stupid idea to fuse it with one of us... and well, you know.  Reaper is the pure form of Darkness imbued with something known as "Hive magic."  He's relentless, threatening and lethal.  I wanted to forget about him when he was sealed away... but it seems that was a mistake.  If I had remembered, I would have always had a plan B in case he was ever to reawaken.

Weiss: That's what you were talking about...

Y/N: Huh?

                 All eyes turned to Weiss.

Weiss: I remember the night after the first day of school.  You went out into the courtyard and I remember you telling your litt- drone- friend- thing about having a dream about a "him".  I hadn't really thought about it since I believed that arrow you shot was just your semblance and your drone was Atlas tech, but... now hearing this...

Y/N: I see... Well, you now know the truth.  It's a lot to take in... but I believe I can trust you four to keep our secret safe.  Right? 

Gonzalo: 'Cause if you don't... *pumps shotgun*  Gonna need to kill ya.

                 Our eyes widened.

Y/N: Gonz!

Gonzalo: I'm just joking!

Ruby: Yeah... you can count on us to keep your secret safe!  But... one question.

Y/N: Yes?

Ruby: Why didn't you tell us before?

Y/N: You think you would believe me the first second we met?

Ruby: N-No...

Y/N: There's your answer.
