CHAPTER 17

PAULA’S POV—

Why. Why does this have to happen on stage? And why did it attack again? The doctor said it will be the last. But this has to happen again. Fml. My eyes flutter.

“Jo? Jo, are you okay?” I opened my eyes fully, wanting to know who’s speaking to me. It was my dad. He was wearing a tuxedo and is smiling widely as he can.  Why the heck is he smiling when I’m in danger? And what in the world am I doing in a chapel and not in a hospital? And most importantly, why is Michael here?

“Dad?” I croaked.

“Yes honey?” He said, adjusting his neck tie.

“Where are we?” I asked, walking towards the mirror.

“In a chapel in Dublin, duh” He replied. I open my eyes in shock. I was wearing a wedding dress.

“I’m getting married?!” I shouted at the mirror.

“Why of course dear” Michael said.

“But I’m too young, and I collapsed on a stage then I wake up and I’m getting married? What the hell dad?” I yelled.

“What are you talking about? We talked about this right? You marry him and I become rich” He said. This man is sinful. Please forgive him oh Lord.

“Are you daft? You’re making me marry someone I’ve never met?” I exclaimed at him. My blood is boiling up.

“Why you dated, right? Oh here we go” The bells rang. The wedding tune started and all the maids are lining up, walking down the aisle. We are dating? A chapel here in Dublin? I’m marrying Niall? Well I hope so. Not saying I would love to get back together with him. Marrying him instead of a random guy I’ve never met is better, right?

“Where is mom?” I asked dad in a whisper.

“She doesn’t want to come” He just said. Why would my mother miss my wedding day? What happened? It was my turn. I walked down the aisle, turning my head side wards to see people I’ve never met. I was near the altar, I see a brunette boy, his hair styled in a quiff. Since when did Niall have his hair colored? The boy turned around and I stopped in shock. It wasn’t Niall. He was a charming guy; girls wouldn’t reject any of his marriage offers. But I surely would. Michael handed me over to the guy, whatever his name is.

“Joanna Paula Cowell, do you take this man as your wedded husband?” The priest asks. I don’t even know him! I thought to myself. Everything was blacking off and I fell on my back.

BAM!

I woke up in a hospital. It was a stupid dream. Or maybe a vision. I don’t know. I hope it isn’t a vision. The first thing I saw was Michael. What is this? An inception? A dream in a dream? I slapped myself in the face.

“OW!” I cried, massaging my cheeks, this isn’t a dream.

“What are you doing?” Michael asked.

“The question is, What are you doing here” I said back, helping myself up. Somebody helped me from the other side of my bed.

“Thank you” I muttered, turning to him. I opened my mouth in shock, he was the brunette! Only this time, he didn’t have his hair in a quiff.

“What are you people doing here? Where are the others?” I was talking about Niall, but let’s take it ‘generally’.

“Others? Oh you’re talking about the blond?” He said. Duh! I mentally said to him.

“Yeah”

“He’s back in London, he called me after you were confined and asked me to bring you back here in Mullingar, since he said he couldn’t take care of you anymore” What is this man talking about.

“We’re in Mullingar?” I asked, standing up.

“Yup” The brunette said, popping the ‘p’.

“And what is he doing here?” I pointed at the guy.

“Oh I forgot, he’s your fiancé, Cody Moore (btw, Sterling Knight is playing this role ;))”  Michael said.

“What the ? Are you kidding me?” I snapped at him.

“No, look, this kid is rich, and he’s dying to meet you, please give him a chance!” He tightened his grip on my arm. No, this isn’t good. No, that wasn’t a vision, it was just a dream. And dreams don’t come true.

“Whatever you’re planning, I’m out of here!” I stormed out of the hospital room.

I got out of the hospital the next day and my ‘father’ forced me to stay with Cody. If I could just board a plane I’d do it at this moment.

“Are you alright?” Cody asked me. I was making myself comfortable on his couch.

“Yeah...” I replied, trailing off.

“Are you sure?” I turned on the telly, paying no attention to him.

“How about I take you out?” He asks.

“How about no?” I retorted.

“Please?” He begged.

“Just a dinner with my dad?”  He begged once more.

“Just a dinner” I confirmed.

“Just a dinner” He assured me. I smiled weakly.

(a/n hit the vote button right now! pwease? You're done? Thanks bby Ilysm)

“We’ll go by 6:30” He went to his room. I was fiddling with my phone when I realized I could call the boys. Darn in Paula, you could’ve thought sooner. I searched for Niall’s name in my contacts, I wasn’t really sure why.

Niall

I changed his name when we broke up. I pressed the green button an it rang.

“Hello?” His thick Irish accent thrilled me.

“Niall” I said weakly.

“Who am I talking to?” He said. Weird, didn’t he look at the caller ID?

“Why don’t you look at the caller ID leprechaun?” I teased.

“It’s just a number, please tell me who this is?” I found my mouth open, has he deleted my number? Why?

“I-Its Paula” I croaked. Then the line went off. Tears were brimming down my cheeks.

“Paula? What’s wrong?” Cody ran to me. I hugged him tight.

*

I zip my dress up and put my heels on. Cody’s dad called and said he can’t come but Cody asked me if he could take me out on a ‘date’ and I said yes.

“You ready?” Cody asked sweetly. I took a nap after the phone call and I realized, maybe I could give this boy a chance, right?

“Yup” I interlocked our elbows together.

Now this is a night I should remember.

NIALL’S POV—

Girls are so confusing.

First they say they hate you, and then they call. What? Last week I asked her father to take her with him while I’m on tour. They went to Mullingar and he called me that Paula woke up. I was ecstatic to hear this. Then she texted me,

From: My Baby ;)

Niall, I don’t want to see your fucking face ever again. I don’t give a crap and I’m telling you, we are never ever getting back together (Okay lol). Go and forget me. I have a life in Mullingar now, with my fiancé. Goodbye.

I didn’t know why she texted me that. But I had a panic attack that came after. It was hard to sink in. Then a week after, she called me and I went mad. Why does she have to play with me? It hurts. The boys were there for me thankfully, I just can’t accept this. Is it why she won’t talk to me on the concert? Because she had a fiancé? I don’t know now. I just have to forget her. That’s it.

Forget.
