Summary: After Sugar manages to wake up Jax, he gets a little payback.

I opened my heavy eyelids and looked around the room. It wasn't mine, and I couldn't quite comprehend it was Jax's until I felt two arms pull me closer and the leg that was draped over mine shifted a little.

I did my best to look behind me, being met with the relaxed, sleeping face of Jax.

He cradled me tightly as I tried to find a way to escape his grasp. I knew we had probably slept through the entirety of yesterday, finally allowing me to catch up on my lost sleep. All I know is that Caine wanted to try the new and improved theme song today.

I know I've only known him for a couple weeks, but I really feel like he's made my view on this whole 'stuck in digital world' thing seem not so bad.

Is that a bad thing? Looking from the perspective of a person that could literally go insane and lose any possible sense of reality they have left, probably not. But if you're looking from the outside in, maybe looking for a way to leave is the last bit of yourself that you're holding onto for dear life before inevitably slipping into a coma-like state as the real world begins to become fake and the world you're trapped in IS your new real.

...Anyway.

Suddenly, a loud knock sounded at Jax's bedroom door.

"Hey, hope you're done with your little fit, Caine wants all of us for the new theme in like- now," Zooble's voice rang before hearing her footsteps disperse.

I sigh and gently shake Jax's shoulder, an attempt to wake him up.

His arms only tightened. I groaned, slightly upset that I had to be the one to wake him up. He just looked so...calm in his sleep.

"Jax...Jax c'mon we need to go see Caine-" He muttered something in his sleep at me, but it was incoherent.

"Jax."

"Jax?"

I felt his shoulders lightly shake and saw a hint of a smile on his lips.

"Jax! You were awake the whole time!?" I asked angrily. All that guilt and for what?

"Sorry sugar cube, you're just a really good pillow. And you're like, really warm."

I rolled my eyes and tried to pry myself from his long arms and scoffed when they tightened again.

"Jax, what the f*%k? Why aren't you letting go?" I ask him, and his smile grows into a long, teasing smirk.

I searched his eyes with my own, looking for an answer when I felt his hands drift down to my waist and my face felt hot.

"J-Jax?" I ask, my voice shaky and unsure.

But then his fingers began tickling my sides. I shrieked and tried to remove myself from his arms once more, trying my hardest to not laugh.

"P-please-! Stop- Jax!" I struggled to form words through my giggles and squirming. Through the chaos, I heard his handsome laugh, too. I'm glad to know he's feeling better after the whole breakdown about Kaufmo.

"Jax, Come on! I told you Caine needed us- oh my God!?" Zooble was now in the doorway, eyes widened at Jax and I's current position.

Somehow, we had managed to roll so that I was trapped next to one of his arms that was holding him up while the other tickled me.

I blushed vibrantly, roughly pushing Jax off of me and heading for the door.

"Zooble, it's really- it's not what you think truly! I was just- we were just-" I tried to explain but Zooble held up their claw (?), silencing me mid sentence.

"I've seen and heard enough to not care anymore. Now will you two please hurry up so that I'm not being pestered by Caine to come get you guys? Thanks...for nothing," they walked away, presumably towards the others.

"Ugh- what the heck, shortcake?" Jax groaned, rubbing his head as he lay helplessly on the floor.

I look back at him and giggle a little, helping him stand up.

...

"Do you think Zooble told anyone?" I ask Jax as we make our way to the stage.

"Nah. I don't think they care enough to, honestly. Besides, what is there to tell? Just two friends messing around, no big deal," he said, shrugging and stuffing his hands in his pockets as he walked.

I smiled up at the handsome bunny.

"Yeah. Just messing around."
