@Eghguy115 is my co-author I thank him for helping me with this.

Since that day grandmother told me about him, I was feeling beyond devastated. My mind and body were feeling sore during the days following, just thinking about this forced marriage. Those have got to be the most painful and stressful days of my life since my parents passed away.

Soon enough, he came around. Inside the mountain pass, I was immediately flown away. (Literally) And it didn't seem like a good thing. Our relationship already was going downhill. Was he angry at me? Was I angry at him? It was too complicated to tell.

Those first days of meeting him were strange. I didn't even know how to start a comfortable conversation with him. The pressure was building up so fast that I did not think I could control myself anymore. My trust would never be brought to that lion.

At least, that's what I thought.

Predators that followed his guard to the Tree of Life were out to take over the kingdom. Pressure became so furious in my mind, that I needed to let it out. But because of my stupid brain, I had to let it out on the wrong animal: Kion.

So much for all that therapy...

Despite already hating him, things started to change. When he ran those predators before we were even alerted about it, it sounded like he was willing to help and willing to care.

I quickly had a change of heart. "Maybe he's not too bad after all." I repeated to myself.

As days progressed, I started to see for who he really was. A kind, fierce, and selfless lion. And with a lioness like me, I say we might make a good team. Maybe Queen Janna was right. We sort of do have a lot in common.

I knew it was time I'd confess my feelings for him. But there was one problem, he is so dynamic. You almost never know how he'll react when you start talking with him. I could see that whenever he's talking to his friends. I should get some advice from them so I know how to confess.

The day 'Granny Ginterbong', was found out to be a villain, we got her to leave the Tree of Life. Along with the other predators that were trying to invade. "Good job Lion Guard. Especially you Ono." I said.

"You're welcome, Rani." Ono bows.

I turned to Fuli. "Hey Fuli, can I talk to you in private?"

"Uhh, sure Rani." We walk away from the group. "So what do you need Rani?"

"It's about Kion. You know how we're both betrothed?"

"Yeah. Kion was pretty upset when his father told him about it."

"I was pretty upset too. But after I got to know him for a while..." I sighed. "I think I'm ready to confess my feelings for him."

Fuli's eyes opened widely. Definitely in surprise. "Really!? That's great!"

"Yeah, it turns out he's really caring, kind, and really a great leader."

"He is! But, what do you need me for?"

"I need help so I could find the right time to tell him. I'm not sure how he will react. He's been a bit... you know."

Fuli nods. "Well ever since he got his scar, the only times when I see him calm is when he's alone. Or when he's not too stressed about something."

"Alright. But what should I tell him?"

Fuli took a moment to think. "How about some things that would make him feel better?"

"Like what?"

"Some things about you, some things you like about him, or things that you both have in common, and how great a couple you two would be!"

"Oh okay. Thanks Fuli. I'm glad Kion has a friend like you."

The cheetah chuckled. "I knew him ever since we were young. He's like a brother to me."

"Really?" I questioned.

"Yeah. And now, after I got to know you, you seem like the sister I never had!"

"Aww, thank you Fuli."

"No problem, Rani. You can talk to me anytime." She reassured.

I walked away and started to look for Kion. For some strange reason, he was hard to find. "Where did Nirmala take Kion?" I asked myself.

I looked almost everywhere. He wasn't at the Willows. Not at the Icy River. Not in the Marsh Forest. Until finally, I spotted them near Ciso River.

I sighed before going to talk to them, but it didn't really look to good.

"AGAIN WITH THE BETROTHAL!!!? JUST FIX MY SCAR ALREADY! EVERYONE IS MAKING IT SO COMPLICATED!!" I heard Kion scream.

Nirmala looked at him with disappointment. "Look, just go to sleep. Rest. We'll try something different tomorrow." she says calmly.

Kion mopes and walks towards me. I hid behind a tree so he doesn't see me. Once he was out of sight, I walked to Nirmala.

"Is he going to be alright?" I asked.

"He's a very troubled lion. I never dealt with issues like his before. His scar is healed. But not his mind."

I took a look down at my own scar. I remember that day, a while back, when I first had gotten it.

"Could I help him?" I asked Nirmala.

"What are you planning to do?"

"I have a scar too. And you helped me to stay calm when I'm going through something tough."

"Heh, I remember Rani. You were so young."

"Right. What if I talked to him and tell him I went through something similar too?"

"If you think that would work, go for it. But I suggest not doing it now. He's too.... occupied in his mind."

I take another look at my scar. "If you say so."

The next day, I went to talk to Kion. He was sitting up on a ledge. "Hi, Kion." I started off.

He turned and looked at me. "Oh, hey Rani."

I sighed. I was ready to tell him. "Kion, I was thinking, and I-"

"Rani!" Ullu called from above. (I was so close to telling him.)

"Yes, Ullu?"

"Makucha's army is back! They've got a tigress and her cubs cornered."

I turned to Kion. "You want to take this on together?" I said.

"Um, okay?" He didn't seem confident when he said that. But at least it was a response. "I'll assemble the guard. You get the Night Pride."

"On it!"

We all arrive at the mountain pass. We see Chuluun chasing after three tiger cubs.

"I gotcha now!" she cackled.

"Leave those cubs alone, Chuluun!" Kion orders.

"I was just about to do that." Chuluun quickly backed down when she saw all of us.

I turned to everyone. "Night Pride, Lion Guard, together!, Kion, have Bunga and Beshte help the cubs."

"Right. Guys?" Kion said.

"Got it." Beshte replied.

We soon get the tigress and her cubs to safety. The mother tigress was named Varya and they came seeking for a new home.

"That's up to the queen." I tell her.

"Then I need to see her." Varys replied.

"Of course, Varya. We'll take you to see her."

"Rani. Rani." Ullu hoots. "Queen Janna needs you and the Night Pride."

"Oh?"

"Go ahead, Rani." Kion says. "Me and the Lion Guard will stay with Varya and her cubs."

"That won't do. The queen asked for Kion, too." Ullu continues.

"Me?"

"Go on. We can handle this, Kion." Fuli says.

"Thanks, Fuli."

"Thank you. Let's go." I led the Night Pride, and Kion, through the mountain pass. On the other side, I knew that it was time. Not time for the wedding, but something way more shocking.
