**HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

"Secure channel eight." Natasha's voice echoed in YN's ear, making her straighten her shoulders.

"Channel eight secure." YN responded, peaking over the top of a large barricade and onto the street that was sixty or so stories below her. "Remind me again why I had to be on the roof?"

"Not scared of heights, are you?" Natasha snickered.

"Heights? No. Falling to my death? Maybe." YN responded, swallowing thickly.

"Don't worry baby, I won't drop you." Sam laughed, making YN smile slightly. YN looked back over the barricade, into the opposite building, she gripped the sniper in her hand tightly, using the scope to see into the rooms.

"Got any movement on your side, Bucky?" YN asked, continuing to survey the floors she could.

"Negative. No movement." YN sighed, leaning away from her position.

"Are we sure we're even at the right spot?" YN moaned, wiping sweat off of her brow.

"We have movement on the roof, repeat four men exiting the building from the roof." YN frowned, looking back through her scope at the men, whom seem to have appeared out of nowhere.

"Sam, what can you see?" Natasha asked.

"They're grabbing something from the – holy shit." YN frowned again, waiting for Sam to continue. "They have a Stark Industry missile."

"Tony, are you hearing this?" YN demanded, watching the four men carry the large explosive in through the door.

"I'm hearing you. What are they even doing with one of those?" Tony responded, stress evident in his voice.

"What do they plan to do? Blow up the Pentagon?" Bucky asked no one in particular. YN sucked in a breath, releasing it slowly.

"I think that's exactly what they're going to do." She whispered, hearing radio silence for a few seconds.

"We've gotta get in there before they launch that thing." Sam rushed out, quickly landing beside YN.

"YN, Sam. Enter through the roof, keep near the windows as much as you can so Bucky can cover you. Tony and I will be in soon." The two on the roof looked at each other briefly, breathing heavily in anticipation.

"Copy that, Nat." YN responded, nodding to Sam to lift her up. "If you drop me, I'm telling Sarah." Sam gasped dramatically.

"That's just cruel." YN laughed, holding her breath as Sam swopped off the edge of the building. Landing softly on the roof of the large building, YN and Sam ducked down behind a wall, making sure no one was coming through before they slinked inside.

Looking over to Sam, she motioned for him to hand right as she stayed left against the windows. Gripping her pistol, YN stepped around a pillar, quietly screwing on the silencer onto her gun.

"You have two incoming on your twelve, YN." Throwing up a thumb of acknowledgement to Bucky, YN squatted down beside the door, waiting for the two men to enter the room. As they entered, YN threw a kick into the back one sending him flying into the other and down to the ground. YN held two guns up, pointing at their heads.

"Not a word." YN grinned, before throwing the butt of her gun into the right man's nose and her boot into the others. Once they were effectively knocked out, YN kept moving through the halls silently. "Sam, status?"

"Coming up to an opening, three doors down. Meet me there." YN called back an affirmative, continuing down the hallway.

"We're entering through a side window now; we will come to you." Natasha advised, receiving her confirmation when YN reached Sam.

"What's behind this door, Buck?" Sam asked, crouching down on the opposite side to YN.

"You have three by the door, and five unarmed men at computers. Next room over is holding the missile." YN nodded, rolling her shoulders.

"I assume the men at the computer are launching. Are they launching it from the window? That's risky." YN commented, sending a look to Sam.

"Looks like it. I think they're desperate." YN nodded her agreement, steadying her breathing.

"How far, Nat?" YN asked, gripping her pistol tightly.

"Four minutes out." YN closed her eyes. Opening them back up, she had a quick yet silent conversation with Sam.

"I don't think we have four minutes to spare." Bucky commented, sighing through the comms.

"We're moving in." YN said, nodding to Sam to kick the door in. "Alright, everyone down." YN whispered, sending two silent shots into the armed men advancing on her. The unarmed people in the room lifted the hands and dropped to the floor. "Hand on your heads and don't move them." She added, leaning against the wall near the other door.

"We're thirty seconds away, YN. Hold off." Tony ordered, making YN grit her teeth.

"Bucky, anyone in the room with the missile?" It took a moment for Bucky to respond, a few grunts coming through in his place.

"Sorry YN, my position is compromised." Bucky sighed. "There wasn't anyone in there a moment ago, but I can't see in now." YN grunted out a response, tapping her foot. Sam saddled up beside her after cuffing the agents on the ground. Before he could say anything, Tony and Natasha barreled in, moving to stand near the entrance.

"What's the plan?" Sam asked, taking his goggles off of his face.

"Move in, be ready for anything." They nodded, letting Tony take front. Blasting the door open, they moved in, positioned back-to-back to cover all exits.

"Six o'clock; clear." Natasha said, quickly shutting the door behind her.

"Twelve; clear." Tony said, lowering his hand.

"Three; clear." Sam continued, his gun falling to his hip.

"Nine is- fuck." YN yelped as the door was kicked in, several armed uniformed men charging in. "Nine is not clear!" She screamed, shooting at the men, her bullets bouncing off of their suits.

"We can see that, thank you YN!" Tony yelled, firing a blast in the direction the men came from.

"Stop with the explosives! There is a literal missile behind you." Natasha yelled, pulling out her guns and dropping behind a desk.

"I know that, Romanoff. I built the damn thing." YN howled as a bullet grazed her leg, tearing a gash in her thigh a few inches long.

"Fantastic, now can you shut it down or not?" YN grunted out, sliding down behind the desk to avoid the bullets.

"I can try." YN nodded, watching him walk over to the missile, letting the bullets clang off of him with no real consequences.

"They're wearing bulletproof metal; how do we fight against that?" YN sighed, ripping off her belt and tightening it around her thigh to try and stop the bleeding.

Natasha looked sideways; across the room to Sam. She thought for a moment before lifting her hand to her ear. "Sam, I need you to take their helmets." YN widened her eyes, before realization hit her. Sam started to question her but YN nodded, confirming to Natasha she was on board. "Take their helmets, YN and I can do the rest."

"If you say so." Sam muttered. "Woman, they're so demanding." Sam breathed out, before standing and covering himself with his wings. "Here goes nothing." Releasing the metal feathers, Sam shot forward, swinging his wings out and clipping the men around their heads and knocking their helmets to the floor. As he did so, YN and Natasha stood to their feet, lifting their guns and firing bullet after bullet until the men lay flat on the floor.

"Is Rumlow there?" Natasha questioned, walking over to look over the dead bodies.

"Negative. He has to be in the building though." Sam said, turning to face the two women.

"Stark, how are we tracking?" YN asked, uneasiness curling in her stomach.

"It's set to launch in five minutes, I need three." YN nodded, trying to breathe in deeply.

"Okay-"

"Rumlow's on track to you guys! Headed south on the twenty-second floor!" Bucky called out from his new position, tracking the man's movements through his scope.

"Do you have a shot?" YN asked, grabbing her biggest gun and sitting it against her hip.

"Negative. He's wearing some sort of armor." YN swore under her breath, moving to Tony's side.

"Tell me what to do, you're the only one who can take him with that suit on." Tony looked at the smaller woman nervously. "Come on, I've diffused a bomb before. Maybe not this big, but I know the basics." Tony sighed, pointing out the next few steps to YN quickly as Bucky recounted Rumlow's whereabouts to the team.

Once he was finished explaining, YN took over, grabbing the wires and rearranging them the way Tony had shown her. She had a screwdriver in her mouth and her hand wrist deep in the missile when Rumlow busted through the door. She tried to remain focused, but the fight was distracting her. Sweat poured down the side of her face as she rewired another set of fuses.

"Tony, I'm fifteen seconds away from finishing. Are you in position?" Not hearing a response, YN cursed lowly, too scared to turn away from her job at hand. "Tony!" She screamed, clicking in the last wire and moving to step back.

Suddenly, Rumlow was on top of the missile, iron straps holding him in place. The massive explosive took off, a large burst of air following it. The pull sent YN stumbling behind it, unable to gain her footing.

"YN!" Someone screamed behind her as she was sent flying from the building and hurtling toward the ground as the missile went up into the air and exploded, leaving nothing but rubble in its wake.
