"Steve!" YN yelled, jumping from the helicopter as he and Clint were wheeled away on a stretcher toward the hospital entrance. Natasha grabbed her shoulder, turning her attention away from the disappearing blonde. "Hey, get off of me! Steve!" She yelled, barely seeing Steve's unconscious body leave her sight.
"YN, you're about to be arrested." Natasha whispered, nodding sideways to the advancing officers. "Don't struggle, we will sort it out." YN clenched her teeth, finally stopping her struggle and nodding.
"Hey, man! Get your hands off of me!" Sam yelled, ripping his arm out of an officer's hand. Sam and Bucky looked to YN as she lifted her hands, nodding for the other two men to follow her lead. Sam frowned before resigning, lifting his hands up at the same time as Bucky.
YN grunted as her hands were reefed behind her, pinching at the wound on her shoulder. "Careful soldier, you might get me all worked up over all this man handling." YN chuckled, curling her lip at the officer.
"Move, you stupid bitch." YN rolled her eyes, laughing loudly.
"Only because you asked so nicely." Bucky side eyed YN, chuckling under his breath.
They were pulled into the back of a large vehicle, sitting side by side in front of three armed operatives that were covered head to toe in S.W.A.T uniform. YN stared at them, cocking her head to the side. She bit her lip, crossing her knees smugly.
"So, who wants to go first?" YN smiled, making Sam and Bucky stare at her in confusion. "Eenie..." she whispered, flicking a finger toward the man across from her. "Meeny..." She continued. "Miney..." she leaned forward with a smirk, pointing at the next officer. "Moe." She winked at the last, leaning back as the middle officer swung the baton from their belt, smacking both of the other officers in the face and knocking them out cold.
Tearing off the helmet, Tony glared at YN as she smiled smugly. "You're lucky that was actually me, King." YN rolled her eyes, running her tongue along her teeth.
"Please, your posture? I'd pick it anywhere." YN chuckled. "And 'stupid bitch' really? Is that the best you could come up with?"
Tony shrugged, leaning over and unlocking the cuffs around Sam's wrists, who was staring at the billionaire in shock. "Just said the first thing that came to mind." YN narrowed her eyes, sending him a fake smile. Tony eyed Bucky, hesitating on unlocking his cuffs. "You going to shoot me if I unlock them?"
Bucky flinched back, teeth grinding under the strain of his clenched jaw. He shook his head, looking away as Tony leant toward him, shakily undoing the metal chains and sitting back quickly. YN glared at Tony, her top lip curling up at the older man.
"What's the go with Rumlow? Did you alert the President's security team?" YN asked looking around the back of the car. Tony nodded but didn't say anything else. "So, how do we get out of here then?"
"I hadn't thought that far ahead yet..." Tony scratched his head, also taking in their surroundings. "I was thinking you know..." Tony gestured toward his watch, where his suit was waiting for activation.
"They'll know it was you." YN said, furrowing her eyebrow. "You'll be going against the Accords." Tony sighed, nodding his head. "Tony, that's not a good idea."
"Oh, now you care? The last time I saw you, all you did was tell me what a horrible person I was for signing them, and now I can't even go against them to save you?" YN rolled her eyes.
"Don't be so damn dramatic. I didn't give a fuck about you signing the Accords. I cared that you put the safety of my friends on the line, because you couldn't see past your humungous ego." YN sneered, leaning in close to Tony's face.
"Okay!" Sam huffed, placing a hand on YN's chest and pushing her back gently. "Let's discuss this later. Now, let's figure out a way out of here." Bucky nodded his head in agreeance, a small smile pulling at the corner of his lips. YN released a sigh, crossing her arms.
"I have an idea."
A few moments later...
"That was the worst idea you've ever had." Sam groaned, getting up from the ground and dusting off his pants.
"You're out in one piece, aren't you?" Sam let out another groan, chuckling as Bucky flexed his metal fingers, blowing dust from between the grooves.
"We literally just jumped out of a moving vehicle, YN." Bucky laughed. Shaking his head.
"Well, some of us did." YN rolled her eyes, putting her hands on her hips as she turned to Tony who was lowering himself to the ground.
"Don't say I didn't offer." Tony smirked, letting his suit fold away as he turned on his heel. "Follow me, Romanoff is on her way to the safe house, F.R.I.D.A.Y advised it's about five miles."
As they walked silently, the effects of the day's events weighed on YN's brain, and not being able to see Steve was really stressing her out. YN turned to Sam, her tongue in between her teeth. The taller man didn't notice her attention for a few minutes, continuing on his trek behind Tony. Finally, when he turned to the rough looking soldier, he saw glassy eyes staring back at him.
"Hey, you're okay." Sam whispered, wrapping an arm around YN's shoulders.
"Sam, I'm sorry." She whispered, unsure of what else to say. "I'm so sorry about... about what I said at the hotel. I know what I feel is wrong, I don't like feeling this way. And I don't hate you." Sam smiled sadly, not moving his arm from her shoulders. "Do you hate me?" YN added, turning his big eyes onto the taller man.
"No, YN. I don't hate you. I could never hate you." YN sighed in relief, sagging against Sam's side. "I was hurt... I still am hurt. But listening to you say goodbye, like I was never going to see you again. God, that was the hardest thing I have ever had to hear. Even after hearing you tell me you blame me for Riley." YN flinched at his words, looking to her still moving feet. "When I saw that building go up in flames, I seriously thought I'd lost you... and hearing your voice moments later, I realized life was too short to hold onto grudges. So, no I don't hate you. But... we need to work on this. I don't think I can handle knowing you have resentments towards me." YN nodded frantically, looking back up into Sam's eyes as she pulled him to a stop.
"Of course! I'll do anything, Sam, I swear." She sputtered out, gripping onto his jacket tightly. "I'll see a therapist, I'll go to group counseling. Anything, I swear." Sam smiled, grabbing her arms and pulling her into a hug. He placed a long kiss into her hair, squeezing the woman in his arms tightly.
"I love you so much, YN. Like family, I just want us to be okay." YN nodded again, biting her lip to repress her cry.
"I love you, Sam." She whispered, closing her eyes briefly.
"Are you two done? We have a few miles left, before we get to the safe house." YN huffed out a breath, squeezing her best friend one more time before releasing him with a nod.
"You really don't have an empathetic bone in that body, huh?" YN asked as she moved to walk next to Tony.
"Only for the people who don't constantly get on my nerves." YN shot him a sarcastic grin before rolling her eyes.
"Glad my efforts haven't gone unnoticed." YN snarked, wincing as she moved slightly wrong and pulled at the stitching on her abdomen.
"Are you injured?" YN chuckled, shaking her head.
"Careful, Stark. Contradicting your own words now." Tony sighed, stopping the woman and giving her a fatherly glare. "Alright, jeez. Don't get your boxes in a bunch." Lifting up her shirt, she displayed her stitching, or what was left of it. The wound was weeping with infection, blood smearing over her lower abdomen.
"Jesus, YN. That does not look good. Are you hurt anywhere else?" YN sighed, pulling down her collar and showing Tony the stab wound on her shoulder. "For God's sake, you're a walking septic infection." YN shrugged, grimacing at the pain it caused. "We have about a mile left, hopefully there's a first aid kit somewhere, I'll get it cleaned up for you. That wrist will need to be bandaged too."
Tony walked off, leaving YN frowning behind him. "Just because you're being weirdly nice, doesn't mean I'm going to stop getting on your nerves, Stark!" YN called, jogging after him with a grin.

The four of them arrived at the safe house as Natasha was exiting her vehicle. She grazed her eyes over the group, smiling slightly.
"I honestly thought one of you would be coming back in a body bag." YN grinned at her joke, laughing under her breath.
"You don't have to say it, we all know it would have been Tony." Tony shook his head, rolling his eyes.
"Come on, Daffy, I need to clean up those wounds." YN rolled her eyes at the nickname.
"You know, Daffy Duck always wants Bugs Bunny to get shot, does that mean I'm the Daffy to your Bugs?" YN asked innocently, sitting on the counter in the bathroom tapping her feet in the air.
"Very funny, now take off your shirt." YN looked up quickly, eyes wide in shock. "Your shirt, YN, or I can't clean you up." YN clenched her teeth, looking around the room. "Fine, if you want to be a prude, leave it on, but you need to move it." YN sighed in relief, lifting her shirt for Tony to gain access.
There was a beat of silence as Tony surveyed the damage to YN's shoulder. YN was thinking about Steve, hoping he was on the mend and okay. The silence abruptly ended when Tony sprayed some antiseptic on her wound, making YN yell out. "Hey! That fucking hurt, you dumbass." Tony chuckled, continuing to spray the wound with a grin. "You're sadistic." YN laughed, shaking her head and falling back into silence. "You think we can beat Rumlow and his team?" YN whispered after a moment, playing with her fingers.
"I think we can try." YN laughed again, making Tony stop his hands from where they were stitching. "What?"
"You and Steve have a lot in common, you know that?" Tony laughed under his breath, re-focusing on YN's wound.
"I think Rumlow is way in over his head, and he doesn't know it. I know that's an advantage for us." YN nodded, running her tongue over her teeth slowly. "I also think I owe you an apology." YN looked up in confusion as Tony finished off his work. "I'm sorry for getting you into all of this mess. I should never have made that deal with Ross. I was being an ass because I got so worked up over what you had said... about Barnes being forced to..." YN smiled, looking at Tony with genuine sympathy.
"Hey, it's fine. It's water under a very unstable bridge." She laughed. "And I'm sorry I didn't see your side of the coin. I'm hard headed when it comes to my friends, and I tend to not see the whole picture." Tony nodded, urging YN to lean back on her hands so he could inspect her abdomen.
"You're a good friend, Sam is very lucky to have you." YN smiled, heart filling with joy over the fact her and Sam were on good terms again.
"Well, he was there for me during a rough time, it's only fair I return the favor." Tony finished up, looking back into YN's eyes. Grabbing her wrist and starting to wrap it tightly.
"I heard about your mother, I'm sorry that happened. We should have prevented that from happening." YN sighed, swallowing over a lump. "When all this is over, we'll hold a funeral for her." YN chuckled, the sound thick with emotion.
"The last funeral I went to was my brothers, and the one before that was my father's when I was sixteen. How fucked up is that? The only two funerals I've ever been to, were my closest family members. Now I have to go to my mothers. What did I do so wrong in life that I deserve that?" YN whispered, choking on a sob.
Tony placed a hand on YN's shoulder, the act making YN want to release a louder cry. "You don't deserve it, YN. No one does." YN sniffled, shaking her head softly. "What's happened to you, isn't your fault. And as much as you annoy the absolute shit out of me, know that you can come to me for anything." YN looked up at the taller man, biting back a smile.
Before she could reply, Natasha knocked on the door, opening it to peak in. "Hey, Steve's awake." YN perked up, wiping her eyes quickly. "Secretary Ross has called a meeting with everyone. Including Sam, YN and Barnes. He said they have an agreement on offer."
