...

..

.

It was dark, really dark. They couldn't see anything. So dark they couldn't see their hands in front of their faces. (Y/N) became on edge as they walked aimlessly forward, hoping Nutcracker was still behind her.

Suddenly, their eyes go wide as the floor dropped out from under them, sending them falling into a bright blue, sparkle filled tunnel.

They scream as they plummet down the tunnel, and pass over a bright white hole, and fall into another one past it instead.

They yell out as they start sliding down a wintery slope, and fall into a thick blanket of snow. (Y/N) lies down flat in the snow in shock and lets out a nervous laugh, a little wracked from the trip down. Yet she also kinda enjoyed it at the same time too.

"Woo! That was a wild ride!" (Y/N) chuckles, and sits up and looks at Nutcracker.

Nutcracker looks at her and chuckles, a warm smile forming on his face, and (Y/N) smiles back. He thought her laugh was charming, and... adorable.

(Y/N) stands up and looks around at their surroundings. They were now in a cave, completely covered by snow and ice.

(Y/N) walks forward and looks around, the snow crunching beneath her feet. "Where are we?" She wonders, hoping to find a way out.

"Hmm, must have taken a wrong turn back there," Nutcracker figured as he sat up. He looks down and realises his sword was now missing from its sheath. "Now, where did my sword go?" he wonders, and looks around for it, but he doesn't see it anywhere.

Just then, (Y/N) spots the hilt of the sword glisten, sticking out of the snow nearby.

"Oh, there it is. Here, let me give you a hand with that," She offers and walks over to it, and picks it up out of the snow. She's taken by surprise when she finds Nutcracker's hand and lower arm attached to the sword, holding onto the handle.

"Uh..." She breathed out, letting out a little awkward chuckle and looked at Nutcracker with an awkward expression. "I believe this is yours?" Nutcracker stands up, letting out a little awkward chuckle himself.

"Sorry," He apologises, walking up to her. She holds his arm out to him, and he reattaches his arm back into place. "That happens a lot," He grins, thankful for her help. (Y/N) giggles lightly, making Nutcracker chuckle.

"No worries, I'm sure it happens to all the Nutcrackers." She jokes, making each other laugh.

They smile warmly at each other, (Y/N) looking into his stunning blue eyes, his looking into her (E/C) ones. Neither knew how long they were gazing into each other's eyes.

A cool gust of wind blows through, blowing through (Y/N)'s (H/L) (H/C) hair, catching their attention. A blue sparkling of light flies their way, flying around Nutcracker before stopping in front of (Y/N).

"What is it? A firefly?" She wonders as it hovers in front of her, almost curiously.

"No, a Snow Fairy!" Nutcracker says, smiling at it. It reveals itself to be a little girl in a light blue frilly dress and arm bands, matching ballet shoes and a small tiara on her head. Her hair tied back in a bun on top of her head. Her fairy wings glistened in the soft blue light of the cave.

"She's adorable!" (Y/N) smiles, the young fairy squeakily chirps as she flies closer, looking over (Y/N)'s features curiously.

She giggles and flies around her, light blue magic sparkling wherever she goes. She tries to pull her somewhere by tugging on her nightgown's sleeve, but to no avail, making (Y/N) laugh.

The fairy loses her grip and flies backwards, and crashes into Nutcracker. He holds his hand out and safely catches her,

The fairy carefully stands herself up, then looks behind herself at her wings, seeing her left wing is now bent. She looks at Nutcracker accusingly and chirps angrily at him, stomping her foot down with a scowl.

"Well, I'm sorry but, you should have been more careful!" He says, looking down at the small fairy in his hand,

(Y/N) walks over to them, offering her hand to the fairy. "Hey, it's ok," She says calmly as the fairy jumps onto (Y/N)'s hand. "Here, let me make it all better."

The fairy turns around, and (Y/N) delicately straightens out her wing. "There you go, good as new!" She smiles, and the fairy smiles and does a backflip in the air, now able to properly fly again. She giggles happily, then flies away into the distance.

"Hmm, not so much as a thank you." Nutcracker says as he watches the fairy fly away. (Y/N) can't help but laugh, covering her mouth to try to hide it. But Nutcracker heard it anyway. He shakes his head with a grin before turning serious again.

"Now, to find a way out of here!" He said determined, not one to give up so easily.

He and (Y/N) walk up to a wall of the cave, and Nutcracker thrusts his sword into the wall, but to no avail. He grunts as the sword bounces off, only leaving a scratch behind.

"These walls are solid ice!" He says, now looking around and trying to think of another solution.

"Oh dear, what do we do now?" (Y/N) breathes out nervously, not liking the current situation they're stuck in.

Suddenly, a stronger gust of wind blows around them, (Y/N)'s hair and gown flowing through the wind.

She and Nutcracker look up to see more sparkles of light floating in the air.

Waltz Of The Snowflakes begins

One by one, they transform into snow fairies. All wearing blue snowflake ballerina tutus and ballet shoes.

They all fly down towards the two, and begin to dance around (Y/N).

Then they all fly above them, and dance gracefully through the air as one.

They twirled and spinned, and performed pirouettes perfectly, all in sync with each other. The pair watching in awe,

The young fairy from before joins in, but can't keep up with the older fairies. She fumbles as she tries to dance along, but isn't as experienced as the others.

She shakes her head after she stopped spinning, and turned to see where they went. They all were dancing around (Y/N), her grinning ear to ear as they jeté with elegance and grace.

The young fairy huffed and flew over to them, and tried to fly in and join them, but was unable to find an opening.

The fairies fly above, and pirouette together side by side, and form beautiful star patterns in the air.

The young fairy looks down at (Y/N) and frowns, and flies down to her. She grabs her finger, and gently pulls her along, encouraging her to join them.

"Oh, no thank you! I uh... I'm not really a–" She tries to resist, but the fairy is insistent.

She lets go and flies up, turning to her and performs a small simple dance step, and waves at (Y/N) to try.

She hesitantly starts mimicking the steps, but stumbles a bit and stops halfway, looking down at the ground awkwardly.

The fairy sighs, resting her head in her hand, thinking.

She looks towards the others as they continue to dance, leaping through the air. More fairies appear and join in as the dance continues,

They all fly together, and take off high into the air in small groups, and let out bursts of magic in the air.

They all flew down and swarm around Nutcracker, causing him to stumble closer to (Y/N).

"Hey!" He exclaims, a little startled at how close they now were. It didn't bother either of them. (Y/N) looks up at him and smiles, and he smiles back.

As their grand finale, they all fly towards the icey wall and shatter it, clearing a safe path for them out of the cave. The bright light of outside shines in, blinding the two momentarily, them having to hold their hands over their eyes to block the light.

"I guess that was their thank you!" he grins, both of them grateful for their help.

"Yeah, I guess it was! But, where'd they go?" She wondered, trying to look through the blinding tunnel.

"Probably off to make a blizzard somewhere," He replies, and the two make their way towards the opening.

As they walked, pink and purple flowers began to sprout from (Y/N) footsteps in the snow. Though neither of them see it.

...

They step out of the cave, the sun shining down on them as they now stand on a small cliffside.

(Y/N)'s eyes go wide with wonder and amazement. She cannot believe her eyes,

Nutcracker joins her by her side, smiling at her reaction.

"Welcome to Parthenia!"

The land before them was bright and lush, full of life as far as the eye could see. Tall mountains covered in snow, large valleys of green, and floating pieces of land forming bridges. And far in the distance, is a beautiful castle sitting on the tallest mountain top.

"It's... it's so beautiful! I've never seen anything like it!"

Curious, she reaches down and picks up a handful of snow.

"Whoa! The snow isn't cold at all!" She exclaims, this place getting more wondrous by the second. She takes in a deep breath,

"It's all so... so magical! The trees, they smell like peppermint! And the sky, I've never seen such a gorgeous blue before!" Her smile never fading, she can hardly keep in her excitement at all the wonders. Nutcracker's smile falls,

"Soon it'll all be a memory if the Mouse King has his way," Nutcracker scowls, determined not to let that happen.

"Oh... right." (Y/N) said, her smile falling as well as she's reminded what's at stake if they don't stop the Mouse King.

Nutcracker was saddened that she lost her smile, but they had to stay on track if they were to defeat him.

They begin walking down a path from the mountain together, (Y/N) following Nutcracker's lead.

"And you really think the Sugar Plum Princess can help stop the Mouse King?" She asks him, still unsure about this magical princess, if she even exists.

But she chose to trust Nutcracker.

"She's our only hope of defeating him." He ensures, leading them to where they need to go.

Little did they know, someone was lurking nearby, watching them.

The two walk unknowingly past a bat unnoticed in the trees.

"Hmmm, interesting..." he says once they're out of earshot, scratching his chin in thought at the mention of the Sugar Plum Princess.

He drops off the branch, chuckling to himself as he haphazardly flies away towards the palace, where the Mouse King resides.

...

..

Many guards stood guard around the castle, some walking around doing patrol.

Inside the large library stood the Mouse King, who was busy looking over a map on a nearby table.

Pimm the bat flies in, and lands before the king.

"Well? What news do you bring?" He commands, not even looking up from the map.

"I wish I could remember, but I'm so hungry. I feel weak, No, faint!" He feigns pain dramatically, and collapses to the ground, keeping one eye open on the Mouse King.

"You insolent little bat! I should turn you into a... ceiling fan!" The Mouse King growls. Pimm stands up, turning and walking away with a sly look on his face.

"That would be a shame, then I couldn't tell you the juicy bit of gossip I overheard..." Pimm smirks. Mouse King growls irritably before swiping a bowl of fruit off the table towards Pimm for him to eat.

Despite his small size, he devours every piece of fruit on the plate. He lays back on the plate with his little hands behind his head, pleased with himself. A hum of satisfaction leaving him.

The Mouse King rolls his eyes before returning his attention to the map.

"Thank you very much, you most royal majesty. May I say you're looking specially regal this evening, sire?" He bows before the Mouse King who glares daggers at him, not amused. Pimm looks up, blinking a few times.

"Er, right. Well for starters Nutcracker's back," Pimm informs, the Mouse King's eye go wide with a scowl.

"What? Here?" He says in disbelief,

"And he's got some girl with him. Don't know where she came from,"

"I do." Mouse King grimaces, rubbing his bandaged head and winces.

"Now here comes the good part: they're looking for a Sugar Plum Princess, who can supposedly defeat... you." Pimm points at the Mouse King, whose eyes grow wide with shock, that then turns to anger.

"Er, according to the Nutcracker!" Pimm deflects, pointing in the distance and taking a few steps back from the Mouse King.

"Sugar Plum Princess?" I've never heard of a Sugar Plum Princess!" The Mouse King scowls, clenching his fists in anger. He swirls around towards a guard standing by the throne, startling him.

"Bring me the royal registry!" He commands, an evil expression on his face, "And bring me the girl, and the Nutcracker."
