I stand in the crowded hallway of school, putting books in my locker. I feel this overwhelming feeling of happiness thatI haven't felt in a long time. Skylar makes me feel this way. She does things to me that I can't even understand myself. I love her so much and I'm glad she's with the pack again. We've missed her a lot.
I close my locker and squeeze my way through the crowd to meet Skylar at her locker. When I round the corner to the E building, there she is, looking gorgeous as always in a white lace dress and jean jacket. Her long hair falls flawlessly down her back, which is facing me. I jog down the rest of the hall and place my hands over her eyes from behind.
She jumps, slightly startled. "Who is this?"
"Your incredibly sexy boyfriend," I joke taking my hands off her hands and leaning against the locker next to hers.
She giggles. "Very funny."
"You know you love it." I smirk.
"Maybe I do, maybe I don't." She raises an eyebrow.
"Wow, that one hurt." I pretend to be wounded.
She smiles and closes her locker. I pull her into a hug and bury my face in her hair, smelling the strong scent of her strawberry shampoo.
"Ah, the lovebirds," a voice interrupts.
We pull away to see Mason grinning at us. My cheeks instantly go red. Skylar laughs.
"You have terrible timing Mason," I say.
"I have the best timing," he shoots back.
"So, are you free after school today?" Mason asks me. "We haven't hung out in a while. I still have to beat you at the video game."
I look over at Skylar nervously. I was supposed to hang out with her. "Actually, I-"
"He would love to," Skylar cuts me off, shooting Mason a smile. "You guys go have bro time. You need it." She kisses me on the cheek. "Bye guys." We watch her as she walks down the hall, catching up to Andrew and Serena.
Mason laughs. "She is something else."
I grin. "She sure is."
And she's all mine.

It's the end of the day. Last class of the day. I can't wait to go home and continue to beat Mason at video games. I walk down the hall on the way to Ms. Clinton's biology class when someone grabs me by the arm and harshly yanks me into an empty classroom.
"What the hell?" I exclaim, focusing in on my kidnapper. It's Jordan, one of the hunters.
"Shut up," he spats.
I roll my eyes. Who does this guy think he is? "I have to get to class." I head for the door until he grabs my arm.
"Oh no, you don't. You and I need to have a little talk." He stares at me menacingly.
"What do you want from me?" I ask confused.
"Somehow, you managed to make Skylar switch to your stupid supernatural 'pack' and she betrayed us," he says, his menacing stare never leaving mine.
"She belongs with us," I argue. "You guys were just turning her into a killer."
"She's a hunter, Dunbar. It's in her blood. Do you really think you're little relationship is going to last?" He laughs meanly. "If that's what you think, then you really are stupid."
"Why can't you just leave us alone?" I ask.
"Because you took one of ours and we aren't going to let you get away with that," he warns. "We're coming after you and you better watch your back."
"All of this just because Skylar left you guys?" I ask in disbelief.
I hear his heartbeat skip at the mention of Skylar.
"Wait," I say, the pieces of the puzzle forming in my brain. "You like Skylar."
His eyes grow wide. "No I don't."
I give him a look that says 'who are you trying to fool?'
He lowers his eyes, his face softening. "She was the only one that understood what it's like."
"What what's like?" I ask.
"What it's like to be not wanted and to feel like you don't belong anywhere. She just understood," he explains, his voice sounding strained.
I nod. "Yeah, she's very understanding."
"I'm not going to let you take that away from me," he says.
"Look Jordan, you don't have to be with them," I plead. "You can join us. You don't have to be one of the bad guys."
He shakes his head. "I've been with the hunters since I was nine. They would never forgive me if I betrayed them."
"Who cares what they think? They obviously care nothing about you if they want you to die trying to kill other people," I say, trying to reason with him.
"They're my family. Before I met them, I didn't belong anywhere. My own family abandoned me so obviously I wasn't wanted. But when Jacob and Arianna found me and wanted me to join them, I felt like I belonged somewhere," he explains.
"Jordan, they only wanted you to give themselves more power. They didn't want you for you," I say. "If you join us, I guarantee it will be because of who you are not how you can make us more powerful."
He shakes his head slowly, sniffling. He refuses to meet my gaze. "I can't. I'm sorry." He steps away from me. "I'm sorry for threatening you. Can you, um, can you tell Skylar that I've changed and that miss I her?"
I nod. "Of course I can. But she's my girlfriend, just so you know."
He chuckles. "Yeah I know. I'll see you around." He opens the door and walks out into the now empty hallway.
It looks like I'm going to be late for biology.
Short chapter I know. This is just a filler but I still hoped you enjoyed. Please comment and vote! Xoxo
