Grians POV :

It was around six am when my phone started buzzing with notifications. I rolled over onto my stomach and reached out for my phone on my bedside table. There were loads of chats from a new group I had been added to called 'Best people alive.' I let my curiosity get to me and I opened up the group chat.

It seemed that it was a chat created by Martyn. Apparently, everyone was planning to meet up and maybe have another sleepover. I can understand it to be honest. I have a lot of sleepovers with Mumbo, Cleo and Scott anyway. Joel had volunteered to have everyone round his apartment since he had recently just finished properly decorating it. It must have been done pretty well since Lizzie started saying that it was actually really nice. You know something is good when Lizzie compliments it.

After I had texted the groupchat saying that I'd probably be free, I got out of bed and ready for school. I needed to be a bit earlier anyway because I agreed to go to a café with Pearl and a friend of hers. I think her friend was called Gem? According to Pearl, her friend has ginger hair that's almost always in a plait. She wears a lot of green and blue and loves flowers. To me, it was a good description so if I was there before Pearl, I could go find Gem.

I grabbed my red sweater and put it on. I really need to wear something else, but I don't know what else would suit me. Plus it's my favorite thing to wear. I put some spare change in my pocket and left my apartment.

Today, the weather was perfect. It wasn't too cold and there was a little breeze in the air. The café was only a little walk since our meeting spot was just a road away from my apartment block. As I turned the corner on the path, I looked around. A bit further in the distance, I could see Pearl and Gem. It seemed like Gem was holding some sort of paperwork? Maybe homework, I don't know.

"Hey Grian! This is Gem, my friend I told you about from my lessons." Pearl smiled at me.
"Nice to meet you!" Gem said to me with a beaming smile on her face. She looked so sweet so I understood why Pearl would've wanted to be friends with her.
"Nice to meet you too." I replied, grinning back at her.
"Well, do you guys want to go get some coffee before lessons start? We have just under an hour." Pearl suggested
"Yes please!" Gem spoke. "I haven't drank anything yet today so I am sooo dehydrated."
"Okay,  Grian? You coming?"
"One hundred percent, Il probably need it anyway."

The three of us sat at a booth, occasionally sipping on our orders. For the past half an hour, we had been getting to know eachover. I found out that Pearl had met Gem before the summer, so around 7 months ago I'm guessing. We were kind of just getting to know eachover. I had already asked what the paper Gem previously was holding was because I was curious. It was bit of homework the girls had worked on the night before since it was due today. This made me realize I had some stuff to get finished. Oh well. Il just finish it at lunch.

We had finished our drinks and were on our way to school. Etho and Cleo had also joined us walking.
"Grian? Are you going to Joel's at the weekend?" Cleo asked me.
"I think you should come personally." Etho added.

"Oh come on Etho. I bet all your gonna do is sit down doing homework on your laptop like last time."
"Not my fault there's so much homework." Etho argued.
"And not my fault you signed up for two extra classes for your final year." Cleo glared at him. Etho sighed and shrugged.
"I'm never gonna win am I?"
"Nope." Cleo said smiling at him then looking at me. "Now where were we? Oh yeah, you coming over Grian."

I waved my friends goodbye, only leaving me and Etho. We walked to our class and entered the classroom. There, we met Joel and Martyn. They were trying to convince a boy named Skizz that aliens were real. I feel bad for him but it was kind of funny. Skizz has always been nice to me, he's nice to everyone.

I took my seat and saw Scar come in the room. I straight away looked at him. He looked at me back and gave me a smile. I smiled back.

Scars POV :

"Hi Grian, you okay?" I asked him. He looked a lot better than yesterday. Maybe he took my advice of getting more sleep.
"Yeah I'm good actually. Got some actual decent sleep last night." He replied. Knowing that he took my advice, I felt happy. He was taking care of himself. And that's what mattered.

I had a great dream last night. Me and Grian were in it. It was something to do with a desert. We had a monopoly over sand. We also had two pets, Pizza and Mr Bubbles. It was a strange dream, it almost felt real. I wish it was. Maybe one day I could just live my life with him. Maybe it was a different universe I've always believed in that type of stuff any way.

Lessons that day went by very quickly. I shared most of them with Grian which made it a lot better. Those annoying boys haven't seemed to mess with him for a while since whenever they get close to him, I usually try to stare at them until they get uncomfortable. It might be a bit weird, but it's working and Grian is safe. There's no way I'm gonna let anyone hurt him. It seems like he's already been through a lot involving those boys anyway.
