In the summer of 1999, the idyllic town of Morioh harbored a darkness that had claimed countless victims over fifteen years. Among the narrow alleys and peaceful streets, a serial killer walked freely, his crimes concealed behind an expertly crafted facade of normalcy.

Reimi Sugimoto, the spectral guardian of the alley between life and death, had watched helplessly as more victims joined her in the afterlife. Each bore the same marks of violation—hands severed from their bodies, their final moments filled with incomprehensible terror. She remembered her own death with painful clarity, being the first to fall prey to Yoshikage Kira's developing murderous proclivities.

The breakthrough came when Rohan Kishibe, the eccentric manga artist with the Stand Heaven's Door, began documenting suspicious individuals in Morioh. His ability to capture the minutest details in his photographs and sketches proved invaluable. He had noticed patterns—men who lived alone, those with peculiar habits regarding their hands, individuals whose daily routines never varied.

During one of their late-night meetings in the ghost alley, Rohan spread his collection before Reimi's translucent form. "I've been watching them," he explained, laying out photograph after photograph. "Each of these men fits the profile we've developed."

Reimi's ethereal hand passed through the photographs until she froze, her spectral form trembling. "This one," she whispered, pointing to an image of a well-dressed man with immaculate hair. "The way he holds himself, the careful attention to his appearance... and his eyes. They're the same eyes that watched me die."

The man in the photograph was Yoshikage Kira, an employee at Kame Yu department store. Rohan had captured him during his lunch break, methodically eating a sandwich while wearing a pristine suit that cost more than most people's monthly salary.

Upon confirmation of Kira's identity, Rohan mobilized the Stand users of Morioh. Jotaro Kujo, Josuke Higashikata, Koichi Hirose, and Okuyasu Nijimura prepared to confront the killer. However, their coordination proved to be their undoing. A chance glimpse of their gathering through a store window gave Kira the warning he needed.

Realizing his peaceful life was about to crumble, Kira took swift action. He located Aya Tsuji's Cinderella beauty salon, understanding that his only escape lay in assuming a new identity. The fashion designer Shigekyo, who might have later exposed him through a lost button, was eliminated with surgical precision, his body reduced to ash by Killer Queen's primary bomb ability.

Kosaku Kawajiri, a unremarkable salaryman chosen for his similar build and age, became Kira's next victim. But this time, the murder served a different purpose. Using Aya's Stand ability, Kira forcibly extracted the information he needed about Kosaku's life before eliminating both Aya and his identity's donor, ensuring no loose ends remained.

As Jotaro and the others burst into the empty beauty salon, they found only lingering traces of explosion residue and a cooling corpse. Yoshikage Kira had vanished, replaced by a perfect copy of Kosaku Kawajiri—a man who would return home to an unsuspecting wife and son, beginning the next chapter of his carefully constructed facade.

In the ghost alley, Reimi watched with mounting horror as another soul joined the ranks of the deceased. She had recognized her killer, but in doing so, had forced him to evolve into something even more dangerous: a predator who now wore the skin of a family man, hidden in plain sight within the heart of Morioh
