"Oh shit, don't tell me she's a good person now," I said.
"I don't think everyone is all bad or all good," Lloyd said. "Come on, let's find out why she escaped."
We walked over to her, she was wearing all green and no makeup, had a hood over her head, and was giving out food out of a large bag.
"Your highness?" Lloyd started.
She looked at us. "Oh, was I gone for too long?"
I spoke, "Why did you disappear without notifying me? I could've come with you."
"I'm not allowed to be out of the palace, they wouldn't have let us out."
Lloyd asked, "How did you even get past the gates?"
"Oh, uh...I learned some sneaking out over the years."
She looked all innocent and stuff.
Her bag was now empty, so she folded it and put it in her backpack.
"Okay, let's get you back to the palace now that you're done," I said.
"Can we just wait a little longer, I think I need some more fresh air."
"Don't you have gardens for that?"
"Y/n," Lloyd nudged my arm.
"What?"
She spoke again, "I know, but, being out here is different. Here I'm not a princess, I'm just Rumi."
"All right, just about ten minutes because we have something to do." And by that I mean bringing my meds from home.
"Okay," was all she said.
~Flashback: one and a half years ago~
Y/n and Amy were trying to write a fanfic together, but obviously they didn't have any experience back then, they were just high school seniors and they didn't even write anything story-related, they just read.
So when Amy suggested it, they immediately went to work on it.
They chose a fandom both of them liked, and chose some fanfic tropes to include and tried to write something together in a notebook because they didn't have personal computers or tablets back then, only phones.
Amy was in charge of writing things down, and Y/n was brainstorming with Amy and acting scenes out in the living room of Amy's house.
They couldn't take anything seriously, they just laughed and laughed and wrote some stuff that wasn't even that good to read because they didn't have any writing experience.
They had reading experience though, and that kind of compensated for it.
But it wasn't about writing something readable, it was just about the experience.
And let me tell you that it was one of the best and funniest nights both of them had.
~Back to the present~
We were back in the palace. We got my meds, we got the princess home, and we turned her in to her parents like late homework.
Of course, we didn't tell them she snuck out, Lloyd made up some lie and fed it to them.
And now we were back in my palace room, Lloyd and I alone.
I took my meds then sat near him on the bed to talk as we were wearing our pajamas.
Correction, both were his pajamas but he lent a pair to me.
"So? What did you want to talk about?" he asked as he opened a bag of chips, he stole two from Cole earlier.
"The princess's plans. Which reminds me, where is Francis? He was supposed to stay at the palace to help us out."
"See? I told you I didn't like him and didn't believe him. He must have lied to us all."
"I don't think so, Master Wu made him confess under the influence of truth tea or whatever that is."
"Oh."
"So yeah. Back to the main subject. Harumi's plan is to get closer to you to find out where your dad is to make him join her."
"Yeah, you told me."
"But I didn't tell you the following."
"And that is...?"
"My own plan. We drop a bait and see if she'll take it?"
"By...?"
"Pretending to have relationship problems that are splitting us apart, that way, she'll see that you're easier to approach now that I'm not 'guarding' you all the time, and she might use the opportunity to get closer to you, to trick you into giving information."
"Nice, but how is that helping us?"
"We give her fake information, a fake location, and use it as a trap to catch her red handed, she and the Sons of Garmadon."
There was a pause.
"I like that. I like it when you're smart," he said smiling.
"So I'm usually dumb?"
"No, just sleep-deprived." He added, "But there's one problem with your plan."
"What is it?"
"I can't act to save my life."
"It's okay, just pretend it's real."
"Y/n, that's what acting is, and I can't do it."
"Fine, I'll help you out. But to make it seem real, don't tell the others that it's fake until I tell you."
"Okay? I guess."
~3rd POV, brought to you by Y/n and Brandon lighting lanterns for their parents on the day of the departed~
Garmadon was bored in prison.
I know I know, prison isn't meant to be fun, but still, he was bored and had nothing to do.
A few days ago, a guard brought him a small plant for him to practice caring for things other than himself, he loved the plant, but other than that, he had nothing else to do.
He was kept underground under Kryptarium prison in a single cell with high security.
He sometimes thought of escaping but the idea of him not having anything to do once he's out made him stop thinking about it.
He sometimes thought of Y/n and what she might be doing right now, it was true that she was practically useless to him, but still, he cared for her since she was a child, and only after abandoning her that he realized how much he missed her and felt bad for leaving her like that.
Francis, his former general number one, hasn't kept in touch at all. Garmadon didn't even know whether he was still alive or not.
Lloyd...Lloyd also crossed his mind more than once in those three prison years. Lloyd was the green ninja, and the guilt of fighting his own son all those times ate him alive.
It was as if prison made him realize all those mistakes he made in his life. Of course, that was because he had all the time in the world to do nothing but think.
But even though he felt that guilty, he never showed it to his son whenever he visited. And he visited a couple times.
