"P' Prem."

"Hmm?"

"The movie is playing in the front."

"So?"

"Stop looking at my face!"

"Why?  I like what I see," Prem leaned in and kissed Wad on the cheek.

Then he proceeded to keep kissing him.  Slowly making his way towards Wad's lips.  Wad was trying hard not to moan.

"P'!  This is an animated movie!  There are children around us!"  Wad said suddenly jerking his head away.

"Whose fault is this?  I told you, let's go to watch an adult movie instead."

"But P', I wanted to watch this one, and I thought you did too!"

"How am I supposed to focus on a stupid movie when you are seated right next to me in a dark room with loud sounds?  Why did you choose this one anyway?"

Wad looked at him unamused.

"I still haven't forgiven you for that stunt you pulled on me," he said sticking his tongue out.

Wad wondered what kind of reflex Prem had because suddenly his tongue was in Prem's mouth.

He pushed Prem lightly, "P', I'm not joking, there are kids around us."

"Well, they should be watching the movie, not us."

Wad sighed loudly, he could never win against this senior.

Prem was poking him on the side, "Can I kiss you?"

"Wow P', now you are asking?  The answer is, No!"

"But I want to!"

"P' you are unreasonable now."

"Fine, I'll keep looking at your face then."

" ............ " Wad sighed again.  If only people at the university saw what a brat Prem was.

" P', you are missing one of the best parts."

"I am looking at the best part of my life, you got a problem with that?"

Wad was smiling until his face hurt, he could get used to this.

"No P', I don't."

They were both standing on a beach.  Prem was hugging him from behind resting his chin on his shoulder.  They watched the sunset and waves fighting their way to the shore.  Wad never thought he could be this happy again.

"For how long are you going to live with Win," Prem asked him out of the blue.

"I don't know P'.  Until we graduate?"

"I don't like you living with him."

"He takes care of me P', besides he is as straight as a plank.  You don't need to worry."

"It's not him I'm worried about."

Wad removed himself from Prem's embrace.  "Don't you trust me?"

"Don't be ridiculous, of course, I do!  It's just that, I should be the one taking care of you.  He treats you better than your own boyfriend.  What if you see how shitty I am, and fall in love with him?"

Wad had laughed throwing his head back.  "Oh P' Prem.  What am I going to do with you!" he pulled Prem from his collar and kissed him hard.

"Too bad I'm into shitty boyfriends then."

Prem was silent for a few minutes.

"Are you free on Wednesday next week?"

"Isn't that after your graduation?  My exams will be done, so I think I will be P'.  Why?"

Prem smiled mysteriously at him.

"It's a surprise."

Prem was looking for an apartment.  He had been doing it in secret since the day he had gotten the email from the company that had offered him a job.

Nothing fit his requirements.  The places were either too small, too big, far from the city, too congested, and if everything was perfect, the rent was too high.

He just got the job; the pay wasn't much.

Until he found the perfect place.  His friends had come with him to turn the place into a habitable home.

"Ai Prem, do your parents know you are moving out?" Knott asked him.

"Not yet."

Arthit looked at him skeptically.  "It's not nice to do that to your parents Ai Prem.  Why not?"

"They told me there was no need to move out since our house was in a prime location."

"Are you leaving them for good?"

"Not really, but I better do this behind their backs, until I get everything settled.  They are my parents after all."

"What about N' Wad?"

"I haven't told him either.  I will do that after I move in.  I am planning to ask him to move in with me after graduation. I can't let Win look after Wad when he has me."

"Wow man.  What happened to you?"

Prem smiled at them, "I finally grew up I guess."

************************

There was a knock on the door, Wad looked around, Win was sleeping.  The stranger on the other side of the door surprised Wad.

"Sawadee khrap Auntie," he said with his hands in a wai.  He was confused.  How did she find him?  His heart was beating fast.  Why is she here?

Prem's mother scoffed sarcastically, "You!  Where is my Prem?"

"Auntie, I'm afraid I don't know what you are talking about."

"How dare you lie to an elder?  I know you have him hidden somewhere in here!"

Win had woken up because of her shouting.

"Ai Wad who is it?" he asked in a sleepy voice.

Prem's mother looked at Wad angrily.  "How many boys do you need?  First my Prem, now this boy here.  Tell me!  Where is Prem?"

"Hey lady... you can't speak to my friend like that."

"You shut up, you are no better.  Do your parents know you are here with this boy?"

She turned to Wad.

Wad's lips were trembling.

"Please don't do this to an old woman.  Don't you have a mother?  Why are you disgracing them like this?  I know Prem left because of you!"

She put her hand into her bag and took a bundle of cash.  She took Wad's hand and placed the money there.

"Here take this!  Please send my boy back home.  His father and I are worried!"

"Lady!  You don't know what you are doing!"

Wad made a signal asking Win to shut up.

"He will go home to you Auntie, I will make sure of it," Wad said looking at the floor.

"Thank you Nong," she left.

************************

Win was furious, he couldn't remember the last time he lost his temper this much.  He grabbed the money off of Wad's hand and followed the woman whom he didn't even want to call human.

"Excuse me!  Stop!"

Prem's mother turned to look at him questioningly.  Win threw the money onto her body.  He didn't care if it wasn't respectful.  Nobody deserved to be treated like that.

"Do you know what you just did?  Last time you spoke to him, he ended up in a hospital!  He doesn't have parents to hurt.  Even if they were alive, they would be damn proud seeing the way he lives.  With all the bullshit he has been through, he still chose to leave your son.  He went through so much to do what you asked him to!  It was your precious Prem who didn't let him be!  He has after him like a leech.  Yes... it's not my friend.  It's your son who has a 'problem' like you said.  I don't want to stand here Looking at you anymore.  I feel bad for your son.  I would rather have no parents than have you!  You disgust me!  I hope you rot in hell!"

Prem's mother was looking at him with her mouth open. Win didn't care it served her right.

Win ran back to the room.  Wad was sitting on his bed. He was looking at a picture of Prem and himself smiling.

Win felt something was wrong, he rushed to Wad' side.  There was a bottle in his other hand, it was the bottle he thought he had hidden so well from Wad.  Win forced it out of Wad's hand it was empty.

Win looked at Wad horrified.

"WAD!  WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!"

Wad looked at him.  His eyes were in a daze.

"Tell him he was the most precious thing in my life."

"WAD YOU F**KER!  THROW UP!  THROW UP NOW!" Win was shaking Wad.

It was his fault, he had one job! And he failed.  His hands shaking, he was trying to call the emergency number.

Wad took his hand.

"Win, my friend.  Thank you for all that you have done for me.  I am forever in your debt.  I will watch over you.  But now I want to go to my mother, she will accept me.  I'm sure."

"Please Win..."

"Let me go..."

*******************************************

A/N:  I know I said this has a happy ending.  I assure you it does.  I'm just not sure it's the kind you were expecting.  Please don't kill me.

I would also like to add that this isn't the final chapter the story hasn't ended yet.

Wad is suffering from a very common mental health issue.  It won't just go away because he has a lover.

I hope you all understand I am not trying to romanticize depression, and attempting suicide is not "aesthetic."
