"Guys I feel bad..." Olivia said something for the first time in forever.

So did everyone else.

"Yeah" Mia said admittedly.

"Mmhmm" Maddie added.

"Well, yeah , but I'm not turning back this car for those dick heads" Ash said irritated. "Even though they were kinda funny" she softened up moments later.

Everyone raised there eyebrows at her repeatedly. She sighed in defeat, smiling.

"Only because they were so pretentious, it was ridiculous" she added when she saw their faces.

"Mmm yeah, ridiculous" Mia said mockingly. Ash rolled her eyes playfully and went back to her driving whilst Mia smirked.

" Just to think we haven't even got there yet and we've already experienced annoying guys. I swear to God I hope there aren't any guys like that at Lockwood." Maddie said sighing with a little giggle.

About 10 more minutes of driving , the isolated desert road started to open up and there were finally signs of life, which there hadn't been for at least the last 4 hours, at the last gas station.

"Where are we even?" Olivia asked looking up from her phone.

"uhh... Coachella, population I don't even know." Ashlynn said, squinting at a road sign with a font that had to be smaller than a half in sizes. Maddie leaned over all of them to turn the radio up a little. For the next 5 minutes of driving everyone was doing there own thing, Mia going through different filters on her phone for the selfie she just took, Olivia on tumblr in the back, Maddie humming along to the old "MJ Classic" she liked to call it, and Ashlynn thinking about life whilst driving. There was a beep that came from the metre near the steering wheel.

"Ugh!" She groaned in frustration. "Guys I'm going to have to stop over to get some gas at the next gas station."

"What!? Noooooo" Maddie said.

"I'm tiredddd" Olivia added, whining.

"Well I'm sorry kids but unless you want to be stranded in the middle of the road we have to go." Ash said being assertive just like a mother. They all knew where she was coming from because she was always referred to as the mom of the group. Ash always worried about people. Always. She'd probably have all grey hair by the time she's thirty if she carries on looking after this lot.

"Okay mom" Olivia and Maddie said in unison.

They all looked at eachother and burst out laughing. Ashlynn switched on the indicators and swerved left into the gas station. She got out of the car and made her way to fill up the tank with gas.

" Guys I'm hungry." Maddie said pouting like a little child.

"As always" Mia added with a little laugh.

"Hey it's not my fault. As Selena Gomez once said, the stomach wants what it wants." She said narrowing her eyes and smiling at the same time. They all laughed.

"Not gonna lie, I'm a little hungry too. Just go into that diner over there, I'll meet you when the tank's full and I've payed for the gas." Ashlynn said.

They all got out and walked into the old-fashioned diner whilst Ashlynn went to pay for the gas. They walked into the quaint diner and sat at one of the booths that had red leather that probably started to fade ages ago. This middle aged man with a moustache and short hair that was turning grey instantly came up to them.

"Hello ladies, may I take your order?"he said smiling rather creepily.

"Uuuhhh, could we just have four vanilla milkshakes, two cheeseburgers and a plate of fries." Olivia said, a little creeped out by the mans behaviour as he leaned in closer to her face to "hear" the order.

"No problem, I'll make it extra quick just for you girls" he said winking really pervertedly, and he walked off towards the kitchen.

"Ummm, thank you?" Mia said.

Maddie had a disgusted look on her face, looking after the man.

"What a creep." She muttered.

Ashlynn burst through the door to see the creepy man looking her up and down. Her eyes widened as she was clearly creeped out by the man. She crossed her arms over her chest as he lowered his gaze a little from her face. The man gave her the same creepy wink that he gave to the others as she looked at him in disgust and turned on her heel as she spotted the girls.

"Creepy guy alert much" Ashlynn said looking back at the guy.

"I know right, but he's the one serving us so I didn't say anything, you never know he could like, spit in our drinks or like..." Olivia started babbling on about what else he could do when he came back with the drinks. He smiled looking down at everyone whilst giving out the drinks. When he got to Ashlynn, he touched her bare leg ( she was wearing shorts) and said "would you like to order anything, beautiful?"

She got closer to him "yes actually I'd like to order you to get the hell out of my face and never EVER touch me again or I'll call the cops. Got it?" She said, beyond pissed. He nodded, gulping and almost ran off. Ashlynn tutted and looked at the girls, who weren't surprised. Ashlynn was always nice and caring and also assertive, but when it came to men, flirting or anything of the sort, or if she felt the need to defend, when she wasn't in the mood for it, which is pretty much never, she could be really aggressive. Which was good sometimes.

"Dayum" Mia said.

They quickly ate their food when another waitress sent it over and not the guy. 5 minutes later they got up and left, not turning back to look. They got into the car and Ashlynn immediately turned on the engine and drove off. It was now 9 o'clock and they still had two hours and a bit to go till they get to San Diego. So Maddie was already asleep, leaning on the side of the car, Olivia looking out of the car and Mia just resting her eyes, until Olivia burst out into a cry.

"SHIT." she said her eyes wide in shock.

"SHIT SHIT SHIT!" she carried on.

"What is it!?" Mia asked her quickly.

"I LEFT MY FUCKING PHONE IN THE DINER!!!"

When Olivia swears you know stuff got real. Same with Ashlynn, who had sighed and without warning did a 'u-turn' at the round-a-bout conveniently in front of them.

"STEP ON IT!" Olivia yelled to Ashlynn

"Okay okay calm down." She said smiling slightly, not phased by her hysterical behaviour.

They were in the car for 10 minutes more when Ashlynn caught sight of the same gas station. She turned in once again and as soon as she parked up Olivia literally jumped out of the car and ran into the diner. All the girls turned around from their parking space towards the door. They went to follow Olivia into the diner when Mia stopped in her tracks. She was looking straight over at it, her face resembling to when you've just realised you've locked yourself out of the house. That bad. Maddie followed her gaze when her face did the same. She nudged Ash to look. The familiar yellow convertible parked a few spaces away from them. Mia looked over at everyone as she came back to her senses.

"Oh. My. God." Maddie said breathing out.

Ashlynn put her head in her hands and shook her head. They all then quickly followed Olivia from where she went into the diner to see her bending down under the table frantically rummaging around the seats at the table they sat at. The creepy guy made an appearance again, as he looked down, seeming to be having a field day staring at Olivia's butt when she had bent down looking for her phone. Mia turned around and glared at him. He put his hands up and walked away, back into the kitchen.

"Damn right walk away Perra." Ash muttered.

"GUYS I CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE. IM FREAKING HYPERVENTILATING" she said breathing heavy and gripping onto Maddie's shoulder. She put her head on Maddie's shoulder in grief of her missing phone. She quickly lifted her head up and walked over to a fat waitress with a mole and too much red lipstick.

"Excuse me ma'am, was there anybody who came after us and sat at that table over there?" she pointed to the table as she spoke a little rushed.

"No there wasn't I'm sorry." The woman said monotonely with a face straighter than a plank of wood.

So they all walked out together and turned for the car. Ashlynn pressed the button on the keys to unlock the car, when she looked up to open the door, there they were. There they all were. Everybody saw. Mia looked at them annoyed, Maddie was a little surprised but looked at them disapprovingly and Olivia squinted at one of them sitting at the back.

"Well looky what we have here..." The black haired one was first to speak.

The girls cringed because they were trying to avoid them.

"Back for more I see ladies." the Hispanic one added.

"Shut up." Ashlynn spoke her mind.

All of them looked a bit dirty and sweaty and they were all wearing tank tops apart from two of them sitting on the boot of the car. The black haired one was sitting on the hood , the blond was leaning on the side of the car with the Hispanic one, and the guy with mousy brown hair was sitting inside the car.He was about to say something else when a furious cry was let out.

"WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK YOU DIPSHIT, GIVE ME BACK MY PHONE!!" Olivia stomped over towards the car to the one boy who was sitting in the car tapping away on a phone with rainbow unicorns and letter stickers on the back that read 'Olivia'. She crawled into the car and attempted to snatch it off of him but he quickly pulled away and got out of the car.

"No you come back HERE." Olivia started yelling after him as he ran around the car park. Olivia does not exercise as she prefers the Internet, so she started to slow down . She was now stationary and put her hands on her knees, bending down, out of breath.

"Stop- just st-JUST STOP!" She said inbeteeen breaths.

"Okay here's your phone. Take it" he said.

Olivia grabbed the chance and tried to take it before the boy raised his arm in the air, out of her reach, him grinning ear to ear, which majorly pissed off Olivia. She frowned at him deeply, jumping up and down. At times like this Olivia wished she was taller; it doesn't help when your going to college at the height of an "11 yr old", how she liked to put it. Mia grasped Olivia's Attention to her as the guy was looking over to his friends. 'His pocket' she mouthed to Olivia, patting the top of her thighs@. Olivia looked back at his back pocket and saw the outline of a phone. She caught him off guard and quickly took the phone from it. Shock overtook his face as he stared at Liv holding his phone, smirking.

"So, what's it gonna be dipshit, giving me my phone or consider yours dead."she said sassily. He narrowed his eyes and spoke one word.

"Touché." He said whilst they past over the phones at the same time, snatching them from eachother.

"Why are you guys even here?" Maddie asked looking at them all, some annoyance in evident her voice.

"Well I myself just pushed our car all the way here from where you girls rudely left us stranded." The blonde one said proudly. He flexed his muscles and winked over at Maddie, which made her raise her eyebrows, trying to look unimpressed.

"Actually no we all did idiot." The one with long hair flicked the blonde ones head.

"Well we need to go now so if you'll excuse us." Mia said faking polite. The girls started walking away towards their car.as they were walking away the Hispanic one started to speak.

"Oye , por lo que es una puta española.Buena, porque me gustan luchadora" The Hispanic one said smirking and directed a quick wink at Ashlynn.

(Translation:oye I didn't know you were a Spanish whore.Good because I like them feisty.)

"Que te jodas" Ashlynn said with gritted teeth, sticking her middle finger up at him and straight away motioning for the girls to walk away as she did too.

(Translation: go *truck* yourself ( you know what she means!) )

"Dude what did you just say to her she seems angry." The blonde one asked but the girls didn't turn around. As soon as they were all in the car, once again Ashlynn started up the engine and they drove off.

"Adios, Chica." Ashlynn said meant for the Spanish one. They all didn't turn around once.

They had now been driving for 2 and a 1/2 hours and they were all tired as hell. Mia had taken off her shoes and put her painted toes up on the dashboard, her eyes shut. Maddie and Olivia were leaning against eachother, sleeping sound fully, whereas Ash still had her eyes on the road. All around them, the atmosphere wasn't as suburban before and now had a few cars on the roads. Ash looked up to the road sign. "San Diego" she mused as she veered left to get off of the highway. Now she started seeing the streets of San Diego and where she would probably spend the next two years. She needed to wake up the girls to see this....

"Guys WAKE UP. WE ARE IN SAN DIEGO!" she shouted the last part. Suddenly the girls in the back woke up and bumped heads, both of them 'ow-ing' and rubbing their heads.

"What in the actual hell Ash!?" Maddie snapped.

Ashlynn giggled."Sorry I needed to wake you guys up to tell you!!"

The girls started looking out of the window, picturing everything.

Two minutes later Mia finally woke up, with her being a heavy sleeper as always, it would take anyone a lot more than shouting to wake her up.

After about 11 more minutes of driving and they saw signs for the Lockwood University car park as they turned into it.

"Oh my God we're here!!!"Maddie squealed, her excitement coming back.

Ashlynne tried to find the allocated parking space near the dorm whilst Mia was reading out the number from the paper.

"Okay yeah I've found it." Ash said and turned into parking space 21, which was right in front of a door that lead to a large hallway, where their dorm was. Everyone rushed out the car once it stopped and did a little victory dance, that they'd accumulate since elementary school. All of them laughed loudly afterwards, getting shushes from some short girl with glasses, but they just ran into the hallway in attempt to find their dorm room.

Earlier on in the year, back in April, all the girls travelled the nine hours to attend the annual college tour here just to get a glimpse of the college before they actually went to it. They were amazed by the campus because a) it was right next to the freaking beach and b) it was right next to the freaking beach! Oh yeah and also the facilities. It was new and the campus was so clean, fresh because of it being by the ocean, and contemporary that they literally fell in love with it. The part came where they got to see their allocated rooms, which they were told 4-3 in a room was what was asked for of the college which worked out perfectly for them. They walked into the room expecting something cute and quaint and had to do a double take. It. Was. Literally messed up. The walls were a kind of a murky green colour, and had a few dark patches here and there which they didn't even want to know what was . The beds creaked when they pressed down on them and the kitchen stank of mouldy cheese. Mia was literally pissed off to hell and was annoyed for the rest of the day and a half they stayed. When they got back to their houses she called up the college and let's just say she had a stern talking to with the secretary. Something about suing the college for taking her money and using it on "that shit". She demanded them to change the room and they said they would. So Mia was the one who was really wary of it.

"Great our rooms right at the end." Mia said irritated, throwing her hands in the air.

"They better have done me good, otherwise bitch betta have ma money!" Mia pouted like a 'gangsta' when she sung the last part, imitating Rihanna.

Olivia got the keys out to unlock the door.

"Don't act like you forgot." Maddie joined in.

"I call the shots-shots-shots" Ashlynn sung pouting too. They were jamming out when Olivia pushed open the door.

"Bitch betta have ma-woahhh."

Everyone's mouths dropped open in amazement.

"Okay they heard me loud and clear." Mia said her eyebrows raised. The room was as big as 2 classrooms in depth and consisted of four 3/4 width beds, a round dining table and a built-in wardrobe. The window was on the right hand side of when you walk in through the door. But one of the best parts was that it was also French doors that slid open, which lead onto a little floor levelled balcony with a few steps that then lead onto the beach, somewhere amazing to wind down and relax in the evening. More importantly it had a beautiful view of the beach, the waves lapping onto eachother, with it being landscape and covering the whole wall.

"Oh my god guys that means we have access to the beach from our room!!!!" Maddie was loving this. The room had a bathroom on the left hand side too, and in the right a cute little kitchen which was fitted with an American sized fridge, a dishwasher, a cooker and lots of different coffee-coloured cabinets. The walls were a subtle cream colour which was very homely.

"This is amazing." Mia and Olivia in awe, at the same time again. And then they laughed. Ashlynn was grinning widely as she hadn't said anything yet. They walked outside and admired the view of the beach. They all sat on the few steps outside watching the waves lap onto eachother, washing up softly onto the sand, the moonlight hitting the waves beautifully.

"Can we just sit here for a bit longer?" Mia asked.

"Not until I've chosen my bed!" Liv ran immaturely, being the kid she is.

Everyone called shotgun on all the beds. Mia wanted the bed next to the window on the right hand side, the side of the door. There were two beds in the centre with the headboard up against the wall, which Olivia and Maddie called. So Ashlynn was left with the bed near the window, with its side pushed up against the wall. Perfect.

It was quite hot in there, Mia was gonna have a few words about the air con to the secretary again. So Ashlynn took off her kimono and was going to push her hair back into a pony tail but realised that she had annoyingly lost her hair band, so she just kinda ruffled it a little and left it out. Maddie put her hair up into a pony tail, aswell as Olivia.

"Okay guys I'm going to go to the car to get some of the boxes." Ashlynn motioned to the door, backing up.

"Okay I'll be there in a few." Mia replied.

They had only brought a few boxes with them in the car that contained 'stuff they couldn't live without' for around 3 days. Their stuff would come soon in a small removal van, because they couldn't fit everything into the little red convertible, which is one of the reasons Ash always second-thought taking the car. One thing that 3/4 of the girls couldn't live without was indeed, clothes. But in the mean time they had stuff like bed sheets, books, gaming devices (Olivia's of course), phone chargers, headphones, hair products, and pretty much as many clothes as they could fit in.

Ashlynn clicked the door shut behind her quietly, mostly because it was nearing 1am and some early birds around here would probably kill her if she made any form of sound. She stepped quietly along the hallway, only to be met with sounds of whispering, which suddenly stopped as soon as the floor creaked a little when she had put her foot down on the surface. It was dark in the hallway 'probably because some stupid turkeywad switched off the lights' Ashlynn thought silently. She wasn't phased by a lot of things but one thing that got her every time was the dark. Ever since she was
