Zack directed us towards our second challenge. The streets were just as busy even though the sun was going down. Downtown was stunning. Tall buildings with lights covered the streets while people walked below them. It was a twenty minutes drive until we reach our location.

I looked rustic. It was formed with old red bricks some falling loose. Metal railings outlined the property most likely in place for the drunks that stumbled out after last call. Double doors were open with a large man standing in front. A small line of people collected near the entrance.

All of us got out of the car. My feet felt heavy while I approached the building. Anyone that looked at me could tell that I was underage, not only by my appearance but the way I cowered behind Zack while he walked.

Zack seemed more comfortable than I. He had a confident strut while we waited in line slowly approaching the bouncer. The closer we got the more nervous I became. My hand reached to my mouth while I chewed on the corner of one of my nails.

My heart pounded wildly while I pictured myself walking passed him and into the bar.

Zack pulled my elbow towards him whisper to me—“Meet me around back,” he let me go once we reached the large man.

“Hey,” Zack greeted the bouncer who gestured his arm to let him pass.

Both Mimi and I looked at each other as if it really was that easy, it wasn’t. The bouncer held up his arms standing in between our freedom.

“Either show me your ID’s or leave,” He stated simply.

I didn’t even have the nerve to pretend I had forgotten it at home or any excuse I could think of to avoid being lame. Instead I bolted back to where I came from Mimi following quickly behind me. The big bald man was terrifying.

“Plan B,” I stated while both of us started to walk towards the back.

“How the hell did he get into the bar but we didn't, seriously, we look hot,” Mimi screeched while we stalked to the back.

There was a lack of light leaving us to stumble in heels in a dark bar alley. There were multiple doors and I wasn’t sure which one Zack was going to come through.

“Maybe it’s a gay bar, maybe that’s why he got in,” She snickered tripping over garbage that littered the back, hundreds of crates were filled with bottles while I stumbled over garbage bags that clinked together.

A door barged open shedding light onto the alley. Zack’s figure stood within the light while both of us hurried out of the darkness and into the building. The sound hit us first followed by the harsh smell of alcohol at the rear of the building. We made it through other small rooms before leading us towards the loudest and most crowded section.

The area had different levels, some designated to tables, others to lounge and then the dance floor. Pool tables and other games kept some minds occupied while others crowded the bar. Behind the bartenders throwing drinks were colorful bottles lining the shelves filled with filled ones.

“Whoa.” This was the first time I had entered into a bar, a real bar.

There was a nervousness heard in my voice. Adrenaline was kicking in while I got excited.

“Do you see Stella or anyone else?” Mimi questioned causing me to search the crowds, which was no easy feat.

Crowds of people were pushed together struggling for any once of elbow room they could muster.

My eyes gazed around the room not finding any luck.

“Right there,” Mimi pointed as I followed her directions.

Stella, Sandra and Nancy sat in a large booth near the back, sipping on drinks knowing their age. I muttered a small thanks to Zack before heading towards them. Nancy spotted us smirking before leaning over to whisper to Stella. In response she glared at our approach to the table.

“I’m not stupid and I don’t take well to cheating either. You both are eliminated, back up your shit and prepare for social suicide.” The anger she had towards me was uncanny.

            “What, why?” Mimi shouted.

A quizzical look appeared on my face. Eye brows raised and lips pursed.

“You opened your envelopes before I said you could, which, means you broke the rules and you’re out,” She scoffed before adding—“I didn’t think it was a hard concept for you two to understand.” Rolling her eyes she took another drink.

Her glossy lips made a pouty face that annoyed me. My fist clenched ready to smack her.

Mimi’s hand ruffled through her bag before throwing both of our un opened cards onto the table top. They slid across right into Stella’s pedicure hands. It was her turn to look confused. Her fingers felt the seal confirming we hadn’t opened them. Thinking back to inside the house I was glad Mimi had slapped it out of my hands.

“I guess I underestimated you two.” Now it was my turn to have a satisfied look on my face.

“Just you completed challenge two. Sneaking into the bar but now it’s onto the next challenge.” A smirk appeared across Stella’s face while she snapped her fingers sending Sandra and Nancy scrambling into two pink bags sitting on the floor below their feet.

“Here.” Sandra handed me a shot glass.

Picking it up I searched thinking it might have my next challenge written on it.

“You have to get five different guys to buy you a shot. You must drink it out of that glass. Each guy will sign his initials on the glass with a sharpie.” Nancy handed us both a black sharpie.

It seemed ridiculous. I’d never drank that much in my life.

“And we will be watching each and every one of you. Just remember cheaters get it the worse,” She spat before gesturing us to leave her presence.

“I didn’t think getting alcohol poisoning was going to be a challenge?” Mimi slammed the glass upside down onto the table.

Her hand lingered on it staring at Stella with nerve I’d yet to obtain.

“Don’t be stupid. I’m not even that dumb. This challenge has to be completed by midnight tonight.” Rolling her eyes she took another sip from her own cup.

Smirking in our direction her lips parted once more telling us the catch.

“You must finish three before you can proceed to your next challenge. If you don’t complete any of these challenges you will be eliminated.” Something evil danced across her eyes while venom dripped from glossy lips.

I knew she was the spawn of the devil.

“I suppose since you’ve arrived first you guys can start now.” It was clear she wasn’t pleased with us out smarter her.

I assumed I would be doing and trying a lot of new things over the weekend. Truth is there shouldn’t always be a first for everything.
