Music enters her ears and jumps on her train of thought. It slows it down, the combined weight being too sudden for the old and rickety carriage. They enter unabashedly, the heavy bass thumping on the walls and the melody dancing across the floor. The lyrics sits itself between the passengers, forcing it’s words randomly on the hard couches without permission. It creates such a ruckus, rocking the vehicle violently, causing it to almost run off it’s course.
The questions and stories and ideas try to push the music out of the train, but some end up falling off instead. They fall, unable to get back on the train in time and are forced to watch it disappear in the distance, leaving the thought away to wither away completely or until the train comes across it again and picks it up.
After the bass, melody, and lyrics have successfully been pushed out, the remnants of thoughts look sadly at what’s left inside the wagons. Most have fallen out due to fighting the disrupting intruders, and the seats that were once full now have too much space.
But that wasn’t the last of it, for the songs left trademarks all around. Muddy footprints on the wooden floor, ripped couches here and there, and scribbles on windows and corners and ceilings. The thoughts sigh sadly at the damage, and sit back down as the train continues. Some stare out the glass panes, hoping that the brave fallen soldiers can get another chance for the train to pass by them, so they can reach their intended destination before they fade into nothingness.
{Author's Note: For context, this is the reason I don't listen to music when I do something that requires my focus. My sister started playing music on speaker when I was studying, and that where I got the idea to write it personified. Music tends to distract me from whatever I'm doing (it's the same with most sounds really) so I prefer silence.}
