Next day:
Mahira's POV:

Knock knock.

Some frequent knocks on my door interrupted my sleep. I fumbled out of bed with a groan and walked out to the door.
I opened it and it was Shardul, I rubbed my eyes and raised my eyebrows. I was in no mood to speak.

"Did you hear the news?", He asked. I just shook my head in a no. I really need to stop talking to rishab for so late.

"Aao everyone is sitting in the hall, and breakfast kar lo.", He said and I nodded and closed the door.

I quickly freshned up and changed into a baggy grey t-shirt and black jeans, I quickly combed my hair and kept it all open and went out to the hall.

"What happened guys?", I said taking a seat beside mahi bhai as usual. He turned his phone on and showed me a news headline.

"Varun Chakravarthy tested positive for covid 19.", I read the news loudly looked up.

"So what does this mean?", I asked them.

"For now, today's match has been postponed.", Said faf and I nodded.

"I think you should stay back and wait for bcci to arrange flights for you. Don't go on your own.", Shardul said and I could see the concern in his eyes, and tbh, I didn't know how to respond I was literally clueless.

"Seriously kya karu main? I anyway have to take two flights because if they'll drop me it'll be to Mumbai, and then wahan se I'll have to take a flight to ranchi on my own.", I explained looking down and mahi bhai kept his hand on my shoulder.

"Why do you need to go to mumbai? Something important left behind?", He asked me.

"Not really,  I have my laptop and phone and important files and kapde to I have at my place.", I said and he nodded.

"Don't rush things, wait for a few days and think.", Mahi bhai said and I nodded.

"Come let's eat", sonu bhai said and we all walked to the dining table. I sat in between shardul and mahi bhai.

"Did you sleep late?", Shardul asked me.

"Yes. Kind of.", I replied.

"Achhe bachche jaldi sote hai.", Mahi bhai said. Why was he eavesdropping.

"I'm not a bachchi.", I replied.

"For me you are.", He said with a smile.

"Aur tum bachchon jaisi cute bhi ho.", Shardul said and I raised my eyebrows at him. Mahi bhai gave me a sly smile.

"Aap dono mera mazak uda rahe ho. You know kal raat main aur shreyas milkar Rishab ko bhi aise hi tease kar rahe the.", My overexcited self spilled it out. I'm glad deepak was sitting far away.

"Is that why you slept late?", Shardul asked, the smile on his face wasn't there anymore.

"No no. I was watching vampire diaries.", I had to lie obviously, I didn't want to hurt him.

"Oh nice. How is it?", He asked me and my tvd rant began.

"It's literally one of the best series ever. So it has this girl elena, who is the female lead. And stefan and damon two brothers, both of them are madly in love with elena. That's the main plot,‌ but there are a lot of sub plots also which make it so interesting.", I vomitted out my love for tvd.

"Okay julie plec. Calm down.", Sam said, who was sitting beside shardul, I said that in a louder tone so no surprise he heard.

"You've seen it na. That's why you know Julie plec.", I asked and he chuckled.

"Yeah, I saw it when i was a teenager.", He said. Lol.

"That would be what? Seven and a half minutes ago?", I said and everyone laughed.

"Four years ago.", He said with an eye roll. He is such a cutie. Probable the cutest one of our team.

"Mahira don't irritate him he also has to complete his homework after breakfast.", Sonu bhai said and we all laughed.

"Yes right. Sorry bro.", I said and even he was laughing.

After breakfast a few people went to their rooms and a few of us were ther in the living room. Mahi bhai, me, shardul, jaddu bhai and faf were there. Just normal chit chats.

"Who all are there in your family Mahira?", Jaddu bhai asked me.

"Me, mom, dad, and my little sister Misha.", I answered.

"Oh, you have a younger sister?", He cross questioned.

"Yes, she is a very renowed chef of Tennessee.", I told them proudly.

"Oh I thought she is a kid.", Shardul said.

"No, she is just three years younger than me. She has done HM and got placed in the US.", I told him.

"And I thought you're the only talented one.", Shardul said making me smile.

"No, everyone in my family has done or doing something or the other. I'd love for y'all to meet them. Mahi bhai ko to I'm calling to my place as soon as he lands in Ranchi.", I said.

"Only mahi bhai?", Jaddu bhai said with a fake hurt look.

"Because he would be only three hours away, you are, you all are anytime welcome at my place just inform me before hand.", I told them all with a welcoming smile.

"But you only called him.", Jaddu bhai continued.

"Because he lives nearby, how can you come to my house after landing in Jamnagar? You tell me?", I asked him and he gave me a sheepish smile.

"That's a good idea actually, now everytime my wife complains about going on vacation with me only, we haven't been to a vacation just the two of us since ziva was born, now we'll leave ziva at your place and go for vacations.", Mahi bhai said and my eyes lit up

"Oh please do that, I'll take ziva on a vacation with me. Btw I did call sakshi bhabhi one day and now ziva is my friend.", I flipped my hair proudly.

"Yes, you're already sakshi's favourite, she even said that when you'll go to ranchi, she'll pick you up from the airport and take you with her before you go home.", Mahi bhai said and I was shocked at the newfound news. Am I that good?

"Really? I need to talk to her again. She is literally the sweetest human mahi bhai.", I said and he had the cutest smile on his face.
I suddenly realised that I had left my phone in my room and went to fetch it, or maybe spend some time with myself.

Knock knock.

I opened. It was shardul again

"Yes.", I answered.

"Why didn't you come?", He asked and I looked down with a smile.

"I wanted to spend some time alone, I would have gone back eventually.", I said.

"Oh sorry!", He said and began to leave. I felt bad and stopped him.

"No wait, did you come to call me only?", I asked him. Had to be sure.

"I came to talk and spend some time with you.", He said rubbing his hand on the back of his neck.

"Oh you can come in.",

"No no. I disturbed your me time. I am going, we'll talk later."

"Arey come na baba.", I said dragging him inside. I don't like making people feel bad or left out.

"I feel so guilty.", He said coming in. I just closed the door, didn't lock it.

"Don't be. I was just sitting aise bhi.", I said hoping onto the bed.

"So, any plans? Travelling ke?", He said sitting beside me.

"No yaar. I feel so trapped. Aisa lagta hai ki koi hawa chale aur utha ke phek de mujhe pahadon me.", I said dramatically and he laughed.

"You like mountains?", He asked

"They're a piece of my heart. You? Mountains or beaches?", I asked him.

"Both. Depends on the situation and the person with me.", He said. I've always assumed him to be thoughful.

"Right. A good company is the key, and I'm with my most favourite company, myself, so I enjoy everywhere." I said and he looked at me admiringly.

"How did you even begin this? Solo travelling?", He asked me

"When I was in DU for graduation, that time this interest began since I saw places, usse pehle we belong to a middle class family to we hadn't travelled much, I started researching, and planned a solo trip to manali, you know the rest.....", I said and he nodded.

"I know I have said it before, but please take me on a trip with you ma'am.", He said making me laugh.

"Sure thing, we'll go to Kutch.", I said and he looked down with a smile.

"It's just so amazing to be your friend and listen to you.", He said. All of the education and experience and still hesitant with compliments I am

"Oh please, I should be saying this.", I said. Suddenly my phone started ringing. Deepak it was.

"Oye!", He said as I picked up.

"Bol."

"Kya kar rahi ho? Neeche aana garden me we'll play badminton. Aur jo koi bhi hai upar sabko bula lo, main, Sam, rutu kabse khel rahe hai. Mahi bhai also came now.", He spoke with enthusiasm.

"Okay. Will be there in a minute.", I said and cut the call

"Chalo neeche they are calling badminton khelne ke liye.", I said to Shardul getting up.

"Oh tumhe aata hai khelna?", He asked and I glared at him.

"Khud hi dekh lena.", I said and locked the door, there were a few people on the living room so we called them all and we all together went downstairs.

It was like a huge party. Everyone was laughing ,giggling, playing and having so much fun together. I spotted bhabi and nidhyana sitting on the grass, I went and sat with them.

"Mahira, will you play with me?", Nidhyana asked with puppy eyes.

"Yes sure.", I said taking her in my arms.

"I want to play badminton with everyone but they say I'm too small.", She said in the cutest way and I laughed.

"Let's do one thing, let them play badminton, we'll play hide and seek and when they will want to play with us we won't let them", i said and she nodded happily.

"I hide, you count.", She said and ran to hide somewhere.

"Don't go too far.", Riva bhabhi yelled.

I saw where she hid but to create a playful atmosphere I started looking behind the bushes closer to that one.

"Where are you nidhs?", I said peeking behind an adjacent pole, and I heard her giggle from where she was hiding.

This time I straight away went.

"Caught you.", I said and she started giggling.

"Now you hide.", She said and ran away to count. I went and sat behind a closer bush. She found me super soon ofc.

"Come na. Play with us.", Rutu came to call me. I looked at nidhyana who was also looking at me.

"But someone has to play with her too.", I said pointing to her.

"I'll do it.", Shardul came and said.

"Nidhs, will you play with him?", I said and she nodded.

"Go, I'll watch you play. And cheer for you.", He said with the cutest smile.

"Hah! Roles reversed", I said and walked towards where they were playing.

Just a filler chapter, nothing interesting happened ik. Please bear with it, hopefully the next update will come within a week.
