kairi's pov.

I watched at the prince left, and he had a weird vibe with him. He seemed jealous but i had no idea of what.

i went into the back to see giovanny, instantly laughing.

"was that the prince?" He asked, laughing.

I chuckled, "yeah, and he seemed in a bad mood."

"i saw the way he was looking at you." Giovanny looked down at his feet, the immediately at me, "he liKeS yOu!!"

my cheeks flourished pink as he teased me. "stop! no he doesn't! we don't even know each other!" I insisted.

"alrighty then....if you say so.." he shrugged, "let's go to the lake."

i agreed, and asked my mum. after what seemed like years of convincing her, she said yes.

I grabbed Giovanny's hand and ran out the back door near the light blue water. we sat on a nearby bench, sighing after running.

"look there's ducks!" I pointed north, "we should get some corn!" I pleaded.

(do not feed ducks bread bc it's bad for their digestive systems. lol thnx)

"okay, i'll go get some, stay here." Giovanny ran off to the town, as i stared at the water.

My mind wandered to the prince, and the way he looked at me. It kinda scared me, but i had cringed so hard that i started laughing.

soon after giovanny came back, with a small bag of corn. "here kai, let's go over there." He pointed towards the ducks, and i ran with the bag.

"bet you can't catch me!" I squealed, laughter filling my lungs. I sprinted away from gio, and got to the ducks first.

"you're right, so let's not bet." A tired gio came up beside me, his shirt slightly sweaty and his breath short.

all i did was laugh at him. I flung some corn out, a few ducks attracted to the fresh food.

We continued to feed them, joking about the prince and how serious he looked, along with how dumb some of these ducks were.

but we had just ran out of corn and now there were huge groups of white fluffy ducks death glaring us.

Gio and I ran away, with a few ducks flying after us. I giggled at how stupid it was.

We ended up at a small park, that was fairly closer to the castle. I saw the girl that the prince was with, with a light purple dress and long hair.

"she's pretty." Gio spoke, his face dazed and hypnotized by the girl.

I just smiled and nodded, although she was pretty, i wasn't really into girls.

Gio and I sat close to her, close to a few flower beds. She came over to us.

"you're from the flower shops!" Her expression was bright and cheery. "i'm so sorry if my brother bothered you. he's not very pleasant to be around."

(a/n what's another word for giggle omg)

Gio laughed rather loudly, trying to pull her attention from me to him.

"oh my, who's this handsome young man?" she looked at me for a sec.

"that's giovanny, i'm kairi. and i'm pretty sure he's in love with you." I pointed to his cherry red face and glistening eyes.

"well giovanny, i'd be down to fall in love with you too. now if you'll excuse me, i can practically hear mattia whining about girl problems, so i'll see you two later." She stood and brushed her dress off.

"w-wait, will you ever come back here?" gio asked.

"of course! see you boys later!" and she skipped off.

something about the words 'girl problems' made me uncomfortable.

I scratched my forearm, and looked down. "should we stay?" i asked.

"if you want, we have all day."

"let's stay." i sat on the ground, and rolled around in the grass.

I relaxed into it, and stared up into the bright blue sky that was scattered with clouds.

Gio laid next to me, pointing to defined clouds and laughing. I quickly forgot about the prince, and began to giggle.

Soon after, we heard screaming come from the castle, and we saw the princess chase after her brother.

"matti! give it back!"

"no!"

The pair ran around the castle fronts, which confused both me and gio. We looked at each other and immediately started laughing at how stupid it was.

Gio and i got up, running back to the town.

"giovanny!" The princess squealed. and ran towards us. "help!"

She stood behind him as the prince stormed towards us. "kaitlynn, you know mum doesn't want us coming near the common folk."

"matti...they're more than just common folk. they have feelings." The girl, known as kaitlynn stood up for us.

Mattia just rolled his eyes. "sure. that's why they live in the town. now come on, mum is making dinner."

"you mean the chefs are making dinner." She retorted, folding her arms.

He grabbed her arm and pulled her away.

"bye giovanny and kairi....." she said sadly as her brother pulled her away.

We looked at each other and began laughing. "yOu kNOw mUm dOEsNt wAnT uS COmIng neAr tHe cOMmOn fOLk!!" I teased, falling over.

The other boy chuckled loudly, and rolled his eyes like mattia did. "sURe tHAtS whY tHeY LiVe iN tHe toWn.."

"that's so dumb." I whispered softly, and slapped my thigh. "he's too cocky."

"probably because of the coronation. he's about to become king." Gio suggested.

"or he's just an asshole."

my views on the prince had completely changed. who does he think he is?

i think i'm gonna finish this book before my affection book ,, only because this one is a lot short n also i have this whole book planned out.
