"Someone's birthday is coming up soon," Enid whispered, her throat hoarse from the breathing tube.

Wednesday rolled her eyes but smiled back down at Enid.  She was glad she was back, but she had to admit she did not miss the fact that Enid had a tendency to go all out for certain events, and she feared her birthday was one of them.

"Don't expect me to pity you and let you throw a party for me."

Xavier and Ajax laughed, and Enid smirked.

"I'm glad you all are here, it really means a lot. I heard Ajax talking a lot, but from time to time I heard Wednesday and Xavier also."

She looked up at Ajax, who smiled back down at her.

"Oh, Wednesday I didn't do anything stupid. I'm here still!"

Wednesday scoffed, and Enid softly laughed at her.

Xavier and Wednesday exchanged glances, sharing a tender look before focusing back on Enid. She looked down at the pair, giving a wide smile.

"Now are you two official? You've had all break to do so!"

Wednesday shifted uncomfortably, and Xavier mimicked her.

They caught each other's glance, Xavier asking her silently, to which she slightly shrugged.

"I'll take that as a yes!"

Enid grinned and tried to sit up, but winced in pain before Ajax helped her gently lay back again. She settled back into the bed, her face slightly contorted with pain before she was comfortable, looking back at them.

"I knew you two would end up together," she mumbled.

Ajax looked between the two, and they stood awkwardly, waiting for the topic to change. Xavier cleared his throat, and Wednesday shifted on her foot. She hated when this tension surrounded them, and now they had to reconsider their relationship status.

Wednesday didn't want to risk anyone else getting hurt, especially Xavier. He had already been a victim in the game, and she couldn't bare him getting used as a way to draw her to the stalker. Her thoughts flew to her initial idea, but she quickly shook it off, remembering her promise to Xavier.

"Well, hopefully, you'll make it back to Nevermore this week," stated Xavier.

Wednesday had nearly forgotten all about the school, and going back the following Monday. She groaned inwardly, thinking about all the preparations she would have to do. But she also was slightly saddened by the fact she and Xavier wouldn't have as much time to spend together. I mean, she figured they would still talk often and such, but it wouldn't be the same.

"I think I'll make it, I'll just have to be extra careful."

A nurse came in, along with Mrs. Sinclaire.

"Oh honey, you're looking more alive than ever! Hello everyone!"

Scattered replies echoed from the group, and Enid's mother beamed. Wednesday wondered if they ever got tired of smiling so much, as they seemed to be very similar in mannerisms. She noticed they looked quite similar too, both with wide smiles and blue eyes.

"Well, we'll leave you to visit. We're glad you're awake Enid!"

Enid beamed at Xavier, and Wednesday walked to Enid's side, leaning down to give her a soft hug.

"As much as I hate to admit it, I missed your constant chatter and smiles. You are a great friend. Thank you."

Enid's smile only widened, which Wednesday thought was impossible, yet here she was.

"Oh, Wednesday! I missed you too!"

Her arms squeezed Wednesday, and she allowed it to be a little longer since she had missed Enid so dearly. She would never tell her this, but she figured her gestures might say so.

She pulled back from the hug, offering a small smile before following Xavier to the door.

They walked in silence down the cold, empty halls of the hospital and down the elevator, walking out into the bright sunlight. Wednesday was itching to ask if he was okay with the frequent hospital visits but wasn't sure how he would react.

They got into the car, and they sat there for a moment. They were both relieved Enid had woken up, but they were both plagued with other thoughts.

Xavier's head swirled as he considered everything, Wednesday's response to being a couple, the hospital, and his dad. He hadn't even gotten a Merry Christmas text from his dad or any presents from the man. It bugged him, but then again he was used to it. He didn't know why he kept getting his hopes up, but it seemed pointless now.

"Xavier?"

Her voice was softer than usual, and her eyes seemed to be more gentle as she said his name. He looked at her, confused as to why she had called his name. (IF U WANT, you can play the song here)

"I'm here for you."

His eyes fluttered, and his heart skipped a beat. Those 4 words meant so much to him, and he couldn't help the tears that began to flood his eyes.

She watched as his eyes glistened, but no tear overflowed from them.

Her hand slowly found its way to his cheek, and he leaned into it, closing his eyes. She watched him, and he slowly opened his eyes.

"Thank you."

Her eyes quickly darted down to his lips before drifting back up, his eyes peering into hers. They both leaned in, and he smiled into the kiss. She smiled against him, and they both pulled back with a small smile spread across their lips.

He grabbed both of her cheeks and pulled her face to his, giving her kisses all over as she smiled wider. He leaned his head back, looking into her eyes once again. She giggled quietly before a hush fell over them, and they silently studied each other's faces.

"I love you, Addams."

Wednesday's eyes fluttered, and her stomach clenched. She hadn't ever expected to hear those words from anyone other than her family.  She expected to die alone, without anyone by her side. Well, everyone dies alone, but a small part of her yearned to be missed. But here was that boy, the one she had tried so many times to quit thinking about, confessing his love to her. She knew the feeling was mutual, but she hadn't expected him to love her.

"Say it again."

He smiled at her, the intrigued expression on her face was worth it all.

"I said I love you, Addams."

Her eyes darted back and forth between his, a smile gracing her lips slowly as the realization of his words hit her.

"I...I love you too, Thorpe."

Her heart sank in her chest, and the thought of her even reciprocating these feelings was startling to her, the idea of her vocalizing her feelings was terrifying. But she knew she did, and she wasn't one to shy away from speaking her mind, although that wasn't always smart, nor was she capable of it when she was around him. She didn't know how people just said it, she felt her hands nervously fiddling as she waited for his response.

He met her lips, and she knew she had made the right choice.

Thing tapped as Wednesday went back and forth, packing her bags to head back to Nevermore. She was both excited and not, as there were both advantages and disadvantages going back. She would have to become more vigilant again and stay on top of her stalker. Her thoughts flew to the unfinished art shed, a frown appearing on her face.

Thing tapped again, this time asking her what was wrong. She turned away from him, going to grab more clothes to pack.

"We didn't finish Xavier's art shed."

More tapping, and suddenly Wednesday whipped her head over at Thing.

"No, he is not my boyfriend," she said aloud. "..or I don't think he is yet," she muttered, turning back to dig through her drawers.

She liked the thought but banished it from her brain. She couldn't focus on beginning a relationship while everyone she knew was getting harmed as a result of her. Her heart longed to be free, but even then that came at a price. She walked over to her suitcase, eyeing her phone. The idea of it was tempting, to lure Galpin out and get him caught red-handed, but all he would have to do is make some calls and claim he was first to arrive on the scene.

He planned this well, she thought. But what he wouldn't be prepared for is friends for backup.

She quieted her thoughts, fearing if she dwelled too much on them she might make them a reality. Her promise to Xavier troubled her, as she wasn't sure she couldn't keep it. But she couldn't risk anyone else at Nevermore getting hurt. She wanted to get rid of the stalker, but in doing that what would she have to do? It was likely he wanted her hurt, or even worse dead. She didn't fear death, but now she had something to live towards in her plain life. She had people depending on her, she had people who cared for her, and she had Xavier now. All those things were enough to prevent her from acting on it for now, but once she hears the story from Enid, she would decide then whether she would pursue her idea or not.

She closed her bag, everything she needed for the rest of the year shut tightly within. Going over to her cello, she carefully picked it up, and went to set it in her case. It was quite big and quite heavy for her, but she nonetheless attempted to pack it herself. Once she finally got it in her case, she wiped her brow, and carefully put the bow in its slot before she zipped it shut.

Grabbing her suitcase, she went downstairs and set it by the door. Lurch was waiting for her, and she quickly went up to him.

"Grab my cello from my room....please?"

Lurch gave her a slightly odd look before marching up the stairs, as Wednesday fished out her phone.

Xavier: What time do you think you're gonna be here?

Wednesday: I should arrive at 1. You?

Xavier: 12:30. I'll be waiting for you :)

Wednesday: Thank you.

Wednesday put her phone back in her pocket, and slowly rocked on her heels as Lurch came down the stairs, carrying her cello effortlessly in one hand. She opened the door for him, and he went to the car. She grabbed her bag but quickly dropped it.

She walked into the living room, and found her parents there, cuddling as usual. Her body told her to turn back and forget about even trying, but her heart pushed her forward.

"Mother, Father, I am leaving now."

They looked over at her, small smiles appearing on their faces. They stood up and walked over to her, and she stood silently.

"Oh darling, this break went by rather fast! We'll be looking forward to the next Parents Weekend, and hopefully, you won't put your father in jail again!"

They laughed at the memory, to which Wednesday continued her blank stare.

Her father moved forward, patting her on the shoulder before her mother stepped forward, opening her arms.

Wednesday hesitantly stood there, contemplating whether she wanted to hug or not.

She stuck her hand out, and her mother lowered her arms and shook her hand.

"Bye, darling. Have fun!"

Wednesday turned and quickly rushed out the door, wondering where her mother saw the fun in going back to school. She guessed perhaps that now she had friends, it would be more pleasant. But there was no 'fun' until she got rid of her stalker.

She was about to get into the car when Pugsley ran out, his arms open as he collided with her. He wrapped his arms around her, and she stood a moment before she slowly moved her arms around him.

"I'm going to miss you."

"...me too."

He looked back, his face giving her a weird look before smiling at her and running back into the house.

Finally getting into the car, they began to drive off.

She found herself once again anxious about getting back to Nevermore.

~~

"Let me help you with that."

Xavier grabbed her cello, and Wednesday bid Lurch goodbye.

She turned to Xavier, offering a small smile before grabbing her bag. They walked in together, and suddenly all eyes were on them. As they walked to Wednesday's dorm, they could hear hushed whispers and saw a few fingers pointing at them.

They looked at each other, confused by the entire ordeal. They quickly went upstairs and went into her dorm.

Enid and her mother were there, and she was helping Enid unpack.

"Hello, Wednesday! Xavier! How are you two doing?"

"We are doing great, Mrs. Sinclaire. How about you?"

"Oh, I'm doing quite well, but Enid is the one you should really be asking."

Enid gave them a quick peep before she stared back at the ground, her face turning a deep crimson.

"Hey guys," she muttered.

Wednesday knew Enid had done something. And she was waiting for Mrs. Sinclaire to leave before she started interrogating the girl. She didn't want to hurt her, but she wanted to know if she knew what all the fuss was about.

Wednesday began to unpack,  letting Thing out of her bag, and Xavier sat on her bed. They all fell silent, with Mrs. Sinclaire occasionally breaking it to make a comment or ask Enid where something went. Once she finished, she said her goodbyes, leaving shortly after a hug from everyone.

"Enid, do you know what was happening down there? Everyone was looking at us as if we were monsters," stated Wednesday, walking over to Enid with her blank expression.

Enid shifted, crossing her arms as she slowly met Wednesday's gaze.

"I swear I didn't mean to! It really wasn't my intention, all I was trying to do was tease the two of you about it but then my finger hit the wrong button, and then everyone saw it, and now it's the talk of Nevermore that the two psychics are a thing and-"

"What exactly did they see?"

Xavier stood up, slowly coming up behind Wednesday.

Enid frantically looked around, panicking at her clumsiness.

"I swear on my life, it wasn't my intention to show everyone. Me and Ajax were simply-"

"Enid."

Wednesday softly let her hand sit on Enid's shoulder, causing Enid to abruptly stop.

"What did they see?"

Enid gulped.

"I might have accidentally... sent a picture of you and Xavier kissing right before the break and-"

Wednesday laughed, catching both Xavier and Enid by surprise.

"That is certainly one way to tell them."

She laughed a little more before meeting Enid's wide eyes, and Xavier's baffled expression. Wednesday turned around, mocking them before she turned back to face them.

"While you two stand there like that, I'm going to finish unpacking."

She turned and went towards her drawers, opening them to put some of her clothes in. Enid gasped loudly, before squealing and quickly (or as quickly as someone with 3 healing ribs could) walked out of the dorm. Xavier turned to Wednesday, opening and closing his mouth as he tried to find the words.

"Tell them what, Wednesday?"

Wednesday slowly turned to him, the edges of her lips curling slightly into a smirk.

"What do you think?"

He slowly walked up to her, grabbing both of her hands.

"That we're-"

"Yes."

A smile spread across his face, and he quickly scooped her into his arms and spun her once, with Wednesday smiling along. He set her down and gave her a short kiss, but expressed everything he was feeling.

"Thank you."

"Don't thank me, I...wanted it to," she whispered, her eyes burning with passion. A small fire ignited in her, and she couldn't help but feel very affectionate all of a sudden. Gah, what was that feeling in the pit of her stomach? She wasn't expecting this feeling to grow to the point she felt slightly clingy. Cursing herself, she continued to peer into his eyes, watching as his pupils dilated.

He started to pull away, but she held on, causing him to look down at her.

"Wait, don't pull away...not yet."

His arms wrapped back around her, and she squeezed him back.

She had never pictured herself in this position, never in her entire 16 years of life. Her mind was boggled at the idea, that she was capable of giving and receiving affection in this way. Anyone could have told her she was capable, but she wouldn't have ever given it a chance. It felt sweeter, it felt more meaningful now that she was experiencing it. She knew she wouldn't ever be like her parents, all over each other every single moment they were within the same proximity. But she realized there were different ways to express love and gratitude towards someone, and this was one of them. She liked his hugs, as they made her feel safe, and she felt she could let go in his arms. She figured she liked Enid's hugs, but that was more of a platonic love, that made her feel better. But Xavier's hugs made her feel complete.

He would have never in a million years thought he would be here, in the arms of Wednesday Addams. He had dreamt of it, but he figured it would only be a scenario he fell asleep to at night. But now it was a reality, and he silently muttered thanks to whoever was listening. He couldn't fully process everything, how he was able to get Wednesday comfortable with him at all, but he was grateful he had earned her trust and her love.

They held each other tightly, once again getting lost in each other.
