Episode 10 ~ This World Inverted

Alisha and Isabelle got back to the institute the night before and slept their before confronting Alec. Alisha woke up around 10AM and got changed, wanting to be their for Isabelle. She got changed into a black zip up top and some blue ripped jeans. She puts on some black heels and straightened her hair.

The hybrid finds Izzy walking towards the op centre and links arms with her. Alec is talking to another Shadowhunter when they walk in so they decide to not go up to him just yet.

"Then they put Jace in, and that can't be, you know..." he sees Alisha and Izzy walk by. "Just, hold on one second." He goes over to the girls. "Where the hell have you been?" He asks his sister, knowing where Alisha had been.

"Where I needed to be. Away from you and your fiancée." Alisha looks down and Izzy glares at her brother.

"Jace and Clary are on the run. I can't protect you if you don't tell me the truth." He states.

"I don't need protecting." Izzy states.

"Meliorn's alive. That's all that matters." Alisha finishes.

"Just... Hey, just" he stops Izzy from dragging Alisha away. "tell me this. Is there any way that Raj could have seen anything incriminating?" Alec, Alisha and Izzy look at Raj talking to Lydia.

"I don't think you can call it an attack if no one got injured. We were ambushed." He says to Lydia who nods.

"How is that possible? Nobody outside the Institute knew about the mission." She says.

"It was dark. We couldn't see much. There were wolves, and the others were hit with vampires. But I swear, the one that got me... moved a lot like a Shadowhunter." He says and Lydia looks at the Lightwood siblings and Alisha. Izzy walks off before Alec can say anything else. He turns to Alisha.

"What the hell were you playing at! You could get de-runed!" He shouts at her and she just rolls her eyes.

"I protect those I care about, no matter what you say." She states and walks out of the institute and planning on going to Jade wolf but she gets a call from Clary.

"Alisha? Can you come to the seelie glade?" She asks out of the blue.

"Why?" Alisha asks.

"Meliorn wanted to repay us for helping him. He said he wanted to repay you as well because you went against everything you believed in just to help someone you've never met." Clary says.

"Alright, I'll be there soon just give me 20 minutes." She says and ends the call.

Alisha walks over to Clary, Jace and Meliorn who are standing in a clearing. Meliorn is waving his arms around, creating a portal. She goes over to Clary and greets her with a hug.

"Hey." She says. "What's going on?"

"Meliorns helping us find Valentine by sending you two to another dimension." Jace states and Alisha looks confused but doesn't act on it.

"What's it like? The other dimension. Is it like this one?" Clary questions.

"It is... but it isn't." Meliorn says.

"Helpful." Alisha comments quietly.

"Could you be more vague?" Jace questions.

"It is an alternate timeline, in a sense. There, Shadowhunters and demons no longer exist." He informs making the experienced Shadowhunters look at him weirdly.

"What?"
"How?" They both say.

"And Downworlders have conformed to the mundane way of life to avoid detection." The seelie adds.

"What happened to the Shadowhunters?" Clary asks intrigued.

"Their services were no longer required, because they won the war against the demons, centuries ago. Once they sealed the rifts between their worlds, their culture faded away. Once you arrive in the alternate dimension, you will assume the body of the Clary in that world. You will think and feel just like her." He says.

"But we'll still know we're us, right? We'll know we have to find the Portal?" Clary asks for her and the hybrid.

"There's a catch. With Seelies, there's always a catch." Jace says annoyed.

"Your alternate self could consume you if you let it." He tells the girls who look startled.

"Is there a way to not let it?" Clary asks. Alisha senses that's she's becoming uneasy so she puts her arm around her shoulders.

"Focus on the differences between that world and ours. Find something or someone to keep you grounded to this one." Meliorn states and Alisha nods.

"Easy enough." Clary says to Jace.

"It will be more difficult than you think. If you don't hurry, you could cease to be this world's Clary Fairchild and Alisha Lotova." Meliorn says.

"And be stuck in that world forever." Alisha says causing Meliorn nods. The hybrid turns to see Clary walking over to Jace with the Ace of Cups in her hands. She places it in his jacket pocket.

"I just need to be sure it's safe. Just in case we don't make it back." Alisha hears Clary say to Jace.

"You're coming back." Jace says.

"What do either of us know about interdimensional travel?" Clary asks.

"Little bit." Jace shrugs.

"Not helping." Clary says and looks at her friend who is giving her a reassuring glance.

"It's time." Meliorn states and the two girls go over to him.

"Meliorn, I appreciate the risk you're taking, but a life debt requires you ensure our safety." Clary states and Alisha nods and Meliorn smiles.

"We agree to go alone, but if we find this alternate Portal, we won't be able to face Valentine on our own." Alisha comments.

"They'll need backup." Jace says.

"If you find the Portal, you may come back for him. Shadowhunters need Seelie permission to go through. Only demons can pass through unaided." He says and begins speaking Seelie to open the door to the alternate dimension.

"We can do this." Clary says and Meliorn nods to them. They walk through the door, hand in hand.

{ALTERNATE DIMENSION}

The news is on and the two friends are preparing breakfast. They both suddenly feel different and look at each other. When Clary turns around and sees Valentine, she gasps. She grabs the butter knife from the platter and points it to Valentine. Alisha is more calm, knowing their not in the right reality. She stands beside her friend not knowing what to do.

"Where's my mother?!" Clary asks frantically.

"Whoa. Is this from one of your cosplay skits? Uh, honey? Come in here. You gotta see this." Valentine turns back to Clary. "No, seriously, you have to let me come with you, just once, okay? I wanna see what you do at these things, all right?" Jocelyn walks into the room making both girls gasp slightly.

"Val, you're not allowed to do cosplay. You'd stick out like a sore thumb." She smiles at Valentine.

"Mom." Clary hugs her mother tightly.

"Wow. Wow, if you miss us this much, you should really leave the dorm room more often. And you, Alisha, need to stop staying at your boyfriends house so late!" She smiles at her adopted daughter who looks down. Boyfriend? Alisha thinks.

"Right. Sorry." Clary says releasing her mother. Jocelyn smiles and sits down at the table. Clary looks at the sketch on the easel and sees it is signed by Jocelyn Morgenstern. Alisha sits opposite Jocelyn and next to Clary.

"Clary, Alisha..." Jocelyn holds up her tea cup. "in honor of your father's Mad Hatter party tonight." Valentine laughs.

"Your mom made waffles for you. Come on, kiddo, you gotta eat something, right?" Clary and Valentine sit down. "So, Clarissa... when do I get to meet this new man in your life, hmm?"

"Val. You were bad enough with Alisha." Jocelyn scolds and Alisha is suddenly very lost. She looks at Clary for help but she seems just as confused.

"What? I have to give my stamp of approval, right?" A commercial comes on.

"Oh, girls, look at this commercial, it's hilarious. It's so bad, it's good." Jocelyn says and the two turn their attention towards the TV.

"Oh, yeah." Valentine smirks and they all watch as Hodge comes onto the TV.

"...and almost broke when Magnus Bane helped me figure out what I was supposed to do with my life. Now? I run my own dojo." Clary and Alisha laugh with Jocelyn and Valentine. Luke suddenly comes onto the TV making Alisha frown slightly. She notices all the differences.

"After being mauled by a suspect's dog, Magnus helped me realize that maybe the police force wasn't my calling. So I opened up a rare bookstore. Now, I'm doing what I love." He says.

"Thanks, Magnus Bane." Hodge and Luke say. Magnus than comes onto the TV and Alisha gasps quietly seeing her old friend.

"I'm Magnus Bane. Come in today for a tarot card and psychic reading. I'll help you find your way." He says. Clary's dimension edges become blurry. When the cutlery clatters, she gasps. Alisha looks at her startled.

"We have to go." She says.

"We do?" Alisha asks quietly but shuts up after seeing Clary's glare.

"What?" Jocelyn asks as the two girls stand up.

"I thought you were spending the morning with us." He says.

"I, uh, have a last minute assignment due that I haven't even started yet, and Alisha is going to help me." Clary comes up with and drags Alisha out of the room.

"Well, we'll see you tonight, right? Clarissa? Alisha?" Valentine shouts but the two are already gone.
