"What?" Y/N said. Her mind was racing and her heart was pumping, her adrenaline was so high it seemed as if her heart was beating so loud she couldn't hear the male in front of her answer her question.

No! No! No! Y/N thought this was not how it was supposed to happen!

Lucas wasn't supposed to meet Cassandra until the school year started! What's going on?

Y/N was suddenly awoken from her thoughts by a nudge from her left. She looked up to Cassandra pointing her head at Lucas and rolling her eyes.

He seemed to be giving her an odd look, one eyebrow raised, mouth parted as if to speak, but nose curled up in concern.

"Are you okay, Miss?" He asked like a true gentleman.

"Yes! Of course, I am!" Y/N was still internally freaking out, but she didn't have time for that right now she needed to fix this, "It's okay we can pay. You don't have to."

She was trying her hardest to make him go away. Save that for when the plot starts in high school!

"Well, my grandmother used to say that a kind deed is the best way to make a friend."

"She sounds very sweet, but we have to be on our way very soon, and I believe it would be quite expensive to pay for all four of us. I assure you, it's quite alright." Jake cut in unexpectedly rudely.

"I'll still pay for them." Lucas smiled politely at the lady working. He looked at Jake and just for a split second his eyes seemed to darken from grey to black, but it was over in the blink of an eye. Y/N honestly thought she had imagined it.

Lucas seemed to stare right through Y/N's soul, "See you around." He grinned at the two girls.

"I'm gonna use the bathroom..." Y/N mumbled before taking off not waiting for Cassandra to follow her.

She weaved through the many waiters walking with dark brown treys and carrying so much food they looked like they could feed an army.

Y/N looked out the window that appeared near a table right before she entered the restroom, and caught a glimpse of a slowly fleeing Lucas, who saw her and waved.

She panicked again and ran into the restroom, as others trailed him with their eyes in awe of his beauty.

She was grateful for her privacy in the restroom. It had one stall only, and a small hooded window that seemed to let in no light at all.

Y/N tried to slow her breathing down. It was too fast to be normal, and her heart was racing too fast for it to be healthy.

Deep breaths... she thought, which eventually slowed everything down. She couldn't believe what happened. There was no way she simply had mistaken him for the 'wrong Lucas' Since she got here she had always noticed the clear divide between leads, and everybody else. The leads are gorgeous, like models trying to live a normal high schooler's life. Everyone else is in awe of them. If anyone had one wish it would be to be a lead, even Y/N wished that sometimes when nights were cold, she sat staring in the mirror picking out her flaws.

Y/N worked herself up over nothing. Everything would still happen in the exact order that the plot specifies. It's okay.

Y/N checked the mirror and saw her red face simmering down and her eyes going from red to a pale white. She fixed her frizzled hair and wiped the sweat off her face. Puffing out some air, she splashed water on her face.

Drying off she realised Cassandra and Jake were probably waiting for her to start their meals.

She took a deep breath and stepped out of the bathroom. As soon as she stepped out she almost knocked into Cassandra who spoke first.

"Where have you been Y/N?! We've been looking everywhere!"

"I said I was going to use the bathroom!" Y/N defended.

"Well the food is here, and you know you have to speak up. Your voice is too quiet, we can hardly even hear it when you talk."

Y/N felt a pang of annoyance. No one has ever told her her voice was too quiet before.

Cassandra grabbed Y/N's hand after not getting an answer and pulled her to their chosen table, again Y/N could be caught weaving through the staff that worked at the Echo's Harmony Cafe.

As soon as she arrived at the table she was thrown off her feet by a force pouncing on her from behind.

"Y/N!" Jake scolded, "Where have you been? Do you realise how many horrible things that could've happened to you?" He tightened his grip just at the thought.

"Jake!" Y/N exclaimed, turning around in his grip to hug him back, "I'm fine. I swear."

Jake hugged her until it became awkward.

"Umm... yeah nice to see you too, but I'd like to eat..." Y/N tried to get out of his grip which he eventually allowed.

"So what'd we order?" She asked.

"We got cinnamon shakes!" Cassandra excitedly exclaimed.

"Yum sounds good!" Y/N was happy to have a distraction from her previous panic.

Soon enough the siblings and Y/N were all talking like normal, and no later did the shakes arrive.

Y/N excitedly pulled her own off of the tray. It was in a clear cup, and seemed to be an auburn-brownish substance.

It was cold to the touch, and she immediately put the straw to her lips.

The taste assaulted her mouth in a delicious attack. It tasted strongly of cinnamon and had a faint whiff of chocolate.

"That's so good!" Cassandra was the first to comment.

"Agreed," Y/N said already halfway done with her tall cup.

Jake nodded in confirmation and continued sucking away.

Y/N couldn't help but wonder... What if the plot wasn't okay?
