I open my eyes, seeing that Rose was hovering above me. I groaned and turned on my side, wincing at the sudden stab of pain in my back. Sleeping on the forest floor wasn't the best idea, but it isn't like Rose and I have anywhere else to go. We had some money, but without being in a guild, we couldn't take on jobs. No jobs, no jewel.

"Neva! C'mon, let's go into town!" Rose exclaimed happily, tugging at my cloak with her paws. Her blue eyes widened happily as I got up, patting at her pink-furred hair. 

"Let's go then," I said simply, smiling softly when Rose followed after me. We arrived in Magnolia, and I felt a stab of pain that twisted my heart. This place brought back so many memories, I hated feeling this pain every time Rose and I came into town. Rose and I decided to go and get food, and we soon arrived at a small ramen shop. We were enjoying our tasty food when I heard a familiar voice, causing me to stop eating.

"Well, we finished the job, Happy! Time to chow down!"

My eyes widened. Why was he here?! He always hated this place when I brought him here! I placed my hood over my head, pushing Rose down so she wasn't hovering anymore.

"What are you doing, Neva?" The exceed whispered, noticing my panic stricken face.

"It-It's Natsu...." I said, watching as Rose's eyes widened. I threw down a couple of jewels, gathering Rose in my arms, and dashed from my seat. I gasped when I felt my body collide with someone else.

"Whoa! Hey, you okay?" I could hear the concern in Natsu's voice and I bit my lip. "Oh hey, you have an exceed too? That's awesome!" He started to say something else but I brushed past him quickly, running out of the shop. I ran until I made it far away from the shop, ducking in an alley. I removed the hood from my head, my breathing shallow.

Natsu..... I thought, tears collecting at my eyes. I cursed at myself, sliding down to the dirty ground. I buried my head in my hands, closing my eyes as I remembered the day I had left the only home I really had, when I had left Fairy Tail.
