Heather Fields  smiles at the promise ring her boyfriend, Brad Philips just gave her.  She is glad he gave this to her as a nice reminder about how much he loves her!  He respects her enough to wait until they are married for certain activities. She knows her mother would be happy to meet him if were not for the fact her mother died a few years ago.  This was long before she met her man.  Anyway, enough about the sad memories, she is happy as ever!

        "It is beautiful thank you so much!"  Heather gushes about the small gesture on his part.

      "Oh, your welcome, my darling!"  Brad says. He grins big at her and laughs when she blushes.

        "Brad, what happens if I change so much you can barely recognize me?"  Heather ask.

      "I doubt that would ever happen, but even if it did I will Love you Forever!" Brad promises her.

      "Wow, that is a rather big promise their Brad Philips!"  Heather teases him.

      "Oh, that is because I mean it.  There is no other girl on earth like you.  None as in you are special, pretty and you have a joy that reflects off you daily."  Brad says.

      "You are a sappy romantic boy!  Yet, I love you too!"  Heather says. She smiles when he blushes this time. She never thought she would ever tell him how she felt about him.  She has been with him as his steady girl for over a year now. 

      "Well, good!  I hate to think I have competition for you.  Oh, and my older brother, Luke will just adore you."  Brad remarks.

    "That reminds me, how is he and his son, Samuel  lately?"  Heather ask.

     "Both are great!  I almost worry that he will try to snatch you away from me." Brad replies.

    "What?  Nah, that could never happen!  you are the one for me."  Heather says.

     "You do not know how much that means to hear you say as much."  Brad tells her.

       "I worry for my sister, Julie."  Heather says.

       "Oh, and why should you?  She is old enough to take care of herself." Brad says.

     "I know, it just she insist on going out with different guys just because our dad tries to be a matchmaker. It drives me crazy to hear about her latest boy.  I mean it!  She already this great guy, Greg who happens to be her best friend, but I know for a fact he has a crush on her." Heather says.

       "Hmm, seems to be like you want to do a bit of match making yourself as in you wish to set her up with Greg, am I right?"  Brad responds.

     "How did you know?"  Heather tries to act like the idea did not cross her mind until he brought it up.

      "It is obvious by the way you talk about your concern for her and the way you brought up this Greg guys crush on her that is all. Besides, I know you wish well for your own sibling. This only makes sense as I hope my brother Luke finds him a great girl to settle down with as well."  Brad says.

       "Oh, well then, that makes sense!" Heather says.

        "Heather, this has been great!  I mean it just me and you alone on a picnic with out any interference from your father." Brad tells her.

      "Yes, it has!"  Heather says.

           Brad stands up and sighs. He wishes he could propose right then and there.  Only he has to wait four more months as this is the pact he made with her father.  He cannot just up and break it to ask her sooner.  No he must keep his word.  So, instead, he brushes a stray hair from her face, and kisses her.  He thinks, it funny their first kiss should be under this cherry blossom tree as it is the same one where they met at a church outing years ago.

        Heather thinks, wait he just gave me a kiss!  She smiles and kisses him back!  She is so full of excitement that he should kiss her under the tree where they first met and got together that she can hardly stand it.  She hugs him. She breaks the kiss and sighs. She wishes he would ask her a certain question, but dares not say a word about it.  She does not want to chase him away. 

       Brad holds her hand and they walk back to the house where she lives with her sister, Julie.  Once there, he lets go of her hand.  

  "See you in a few weeks!  I have some business out of town!" Brad says, as they part ways.

     "Okay, see you then!"  Heather says.

          Brad blows her a kiss, then gets on his Harley Davidson motorcycle and leaves.  He is happy to be with the girl he loves.  He can hardly wait until the day he gets to pop the big one happens!  He speeds away with this thought on his mind.

           *Author's Note:  Little do they know much things will change in the next four months!  Little do they know this fun time is one of the few they have left!  Little do they know what is about to happen to crush their world or at least Heather's anyway.
