Chapter 30

Mia's P.O.V

Brent and I walked down the corridor.

I slow down a bit when we get closer to Elizas room.

This is it.

This is the moment I have been dreading.

The moment when I see my dead best friend.

We get to the door.

It's shut

I close my eyes and take a deep breath

I'm don't really know what to expect behind that door

"okay, let's do this" I say quietly

Brent grabs my hand and squeezes it then let's go as I grab the door handle

I twisting slowly and open the door

The first thing I see I'm the room is Eliza on her bed

Gilinsky is sitting on a chair beside Elizas bed with his head resting on her hand. His shoulders are moving up and down which means he's crying

I walk in the room a bit and see that Jack is sitting on a chair looking at the ground, tears falling if his cheeks

They don't notice me

"hey" I say, trying to be cheerful

Jack looks up but Gilinsky doesn't move

Jack gets up and hugs me

"hey where were you?" He says

"I will explain later, sorry can I just see Eliza?"

"of course gorgeous"

I let go of him and slowly walk over to the bed

My legs feel like jelly, but also feel like they way a ton

I get to the other side of the bed to the side Gilinsky is on

I look down at Eliza

Her face so pale

Her chest isn't rising

I just needed to check

It still doesn't feel real though

She was with me this afternoon

She was laughing with Gilinsky just this morning

It's not real

This can't be real

It's not real

I feel my legs slowly collapsing

I fall to the ground and once again, darkness overcomes me.
