*Charlie*

Waking up with a hangover is a routine now with an extreme desire for coffee, but as I stare into my white cupboard, I see the remains of an empty bag of vanilla nut coffee. And I don't realize how much my head hurts until a eruption of knocking comes to my door. I open with ease because let's not forget about my lovely neighbors *sense the sarcasm*. But instead it's that guy from last night, Neil, Niall, which one is it? It seems like he reads my mind, "Niall, remember me?"
"Oh yeah, the guy who asks too many damn questions?"
Chuckling, he says, "So I kinda figured you would have a hangover, so I brought you coffee." He smiles at me and I notice how nice his teeth are, why didn't I notice that before. *Cause you were pissed off your ass Charlie* my no good conscience tells me. Anyway, staring at me with two coffee cups is this guy who I met at a bar and barely remember, why would he bring me coffee? When did people become nice? *Well Charlie you do live in a town of 1,303 people* I really do hate my conscience; it's a smartass too.
"Charlie, hello." I'm pulled from my inner thoughts as Niall waves the coffee in my face. God it smells like....
"Vanilla Nut?" I ask.
"Yeah, it's my favourite," He answers. I just smile and grab the coffee from him and out of character, invite him into my crap excuse of a home. He's quite the curious one as he looks around my place at all my pictures and arts and crafts I made when I was in elementary school, where the world is all rainbows and unicorns, right before reality kicks in and shows you how shitty life really is.
"Is this your mom?" He holds my only picture I have of Momma. She believed more in living in the moment than tugging a camera around taking a million pictures of the same thing. But luckily my dad loved pictures and on this rare occasion, my 16th birthday, he captured Momma smiling as I opened my new computer she had saved for years to buy. She begged him not to keep it but he hid it until after she died and gave it to me as a graduation gift. It shows how happy she was emotionally and physically before, well before she died.
"You do that a lot." Niall says in between drinking his coffee as he gets comfy on my couch.
"Do what?"
"You zone out a lot. Sometimes when I ask you a question, you just stare into mid space." He gets up from the couch to open up my fridge.
"Sorry." I follow him to my little kitchen as he takes out bagels and cream cheese.
"So, what's there to do in Bunkerville, Nevada?" He takes out two plates and pops our bagels into the toaster. How does he know where everything is?
"Um, well not much considering it's a small ass town with only two bars and three rundown motels. We don't even have a sheriff station."
"Well there's gotta be something to do, you just have to be creative." Does he always smile this much?
"You go ahead and find something worth calling an adventure here."
"Maybe if you just open your eyes and look beyond the bar, you'll see an adventure waiting for you." I shrug at his words and drink my coffee waiting for my bagel to be done.
"How about I make you a bet?" He brings the bagels to the small makeshift table I have.
"I'm listening." I bite into my bagel and damn, this has to be the best bagel I've ever had.
"I bet you that I can give you the adventure of a lifetime and maybe just maybe you'll find what you need most. And you can finally pull through on the promise you made your mom."
"One problem....I don't even know you."
"Yeah true, but maybe we can be friends. Everybody needs a better friend than beer."
I just stare at him as he basically reads my whole life story just by looking in my eyes. Damn him.
"Fine but if you lose this bet and all I have is more debt and a new found hatred for guys, then you owe me a beer aka my best friend."
"Deal." And we shake on that.

"So the adventure begins tomorrow, okay?"
"Mhhm yep, okay bye." I shut the door before he can say another word. Maybe that was a little harsh but I still have a bulging headache and I'm gonna need sleep if I have to spend the next month or so with him. Now don't get me wrong, he is cute and really nice, but I'm not too good at being nice to people, especially if I don't know them.

Well with this overbearing hangover and Niall's cup of vanilla nut coffee, I dose off to a peaceful sleep, dreaming of the 'adventure' I'm going to embark on with a total stranger tomorrow. But to my dismay, another knock comes to my door. I swear if he's back   to--
But instead as I open my door, is a final eviction notice letter.

HEY GUYS WHAT'S UP? HOPE YOU LIKED THIS CHAPTER AS WELL. IT'S A BIT OF A FILLER CHAPTER TO WHAT'S COMING NEXT. YEP, THE 'ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME' AS NIALL SAID.
