Someone to rely on..

I've always had people that weren't family around me. Sachi and Asashi were my only real family. Asashi....he died of dehydration whenever we were abandoned. Sachi..she's the only sibling left of the once triplets. Sachi and I found an orphanage, they instantly took us in and kept us healthy. Asashi tried to run off without us and come back when he found a safe place, but soon died.

I'm now stuck here with people I've grown up with, Sachi being my only official family. So basically, I've relied on complete strangers since 5 years of age, now I'm 11.

"Get ready for bed everyone!" Ms. Mayor yelled at all of the kids who just came out of the dining room. It was a small orphanage, only holding 30 kids. Y/N sprang up the stairs to her shared bedroom with 9 other kids, Sachi not joining the group.

Y/N gathered her clothes, dressing up into comfortable clothes in the bathroom. She brushed her teeth, examining the fangs she owned. Everyone called her a vampire because of her fangs, though Ms. Mayor came to the conclusion they were just long, sharp teeth. She brushed her hair, a whisper breaking the routine.

"Y/N, follow me with your brush," the soft voice was Sachi whispering through a small crack in the door. The girl listened to her sister, opening the door, immediately met by the twin. Sachi took Y/N's wrist and ran down the stairs very quietly. The leading twin looked around before opening up the front door and closing it behind the two.

Y/N looked up to see a sky full of stars. Her wrist was pulled down, her eyes looking down to see Sachi pointing at her hair. The older girl sat down behind the younger one, the brush meeting Sachi's hair. The crickets sung their songs, making the scenery calm down.

Sachi and Y/N would usually meet each other out here to escape from the chaos inside the small orphanage. Every single time Y/N sang. The reason why is because the first time they met out here was because of Sachi crying. Sachi couldn't forget family. The orphanage kids didn't make it better either.

The other kids would keep asking Sachi and Y/N about the meant-to-be dead vampire brother. "You're saying he wasn't already dead? I thought vampires were dead the moment they were born!" Singing always soothed Sachi. The younger sibling would always promote Y/N's singing to the other kids, saying she was alive whenever she sang to god.

"Well I've heard there was a secret chord," the soft mumble instantly made the younger tense girl relax. "That David played and it pleased the Lord." The crickets would always sing along with Y/N, Sachi said they were nothing compared to her sister.

"But you don't really care for music, do you?" Y/N kept brushing the younger sibling's hair.

"Wait, Y/N, I need to tell you something really important," Sachi urgently broke out, stopping the sweet harmony.

"Hmm?" Y/N hadn't held any anger as she continued brushing, all ears for her sister.

"I know where daddy is."

Everything immediately stopped. The brush stopped mid-way in the long flowing hair. The crickets stopped, assuringly for air. It felt as if the earth stopped rotating just to listen to these two sisters.

"Sachi! You can't talk about him here! We've found our home here, we can't just leave this place!" Y/N whispered in a shout, dropping the brush. "Besides everyone will think your crazy for thinking about hi—."

Rustles of the bushes stopped the lecture. "Y/N, you don't get it—."

The bushes kept fluttering as the leaves hit one another. "Sachi, you can't think about him. He left us stranded! Besides, he's probably too far away, we'll end up like Asashi if we tried to find him!"

Rustle
Rustle
Rustle.

"Y/N, when I count to three I run into the forest and you go inside and alert them of a stranger," the sentence made Y/N's heart immediately stop. It took a second for Y/N to realize there was no wind for the leaves to rustle.

"One," the girl slightly whispered. Wait.

"Two," if she's running to the forest..

"Three," she's sacrificing herself! The younger girl started running already. No! Y/N sprung to her feet and followed the younger girl.

Her lungs thinned the more she breathed in and out, her heart beating her chest. She soon came to a stop when she realized she was in the middle of nowhere. "Sachi! Sachi please answer me! Sachi!"

Chirp
Chirp.
Chirp.
Chirp.

The crickets sang, trying to ease the silence. "Sa-Sachi," her voice became a soft whisper as her vocal cords felt the pain in her wind pipe. Her legs gave out, her knees being caught by the earth below her. Her eyes dried up, tears replacing the dry orbs.

"Y/N?" an ego-filled voice spoke, a voice she's heard before. The girl turned her head to see a red-head with green eyes, the clothes all messed up.

"A....A-Aya...Ayato?" she squinted her eyes at the familiar figure, her head tilting as the tears followed.

"How'd you—follow Ore-Sama!" he pointed to the sky, as he turned around. Y/N didn't make one movement. She couldn't, not with her legs hurting this badly. But, she still pushed. Ayato started walking off without the girl, so she needed to hurry. Y/N pushed her legs as hard as she could and started running towards the red-head.

"Ow!" The girl instantly hit the hard ground, her right ankle bending far to the left. Her nerves kept warning and warning her brain about her ankle, causing a headache as her ankle stung bad.

"Baka," the voice came back, sounding annoyed. Y/N felt air as she was carried in the air bridal-styled, her ankle numb to the harsh pain. "Oi, why are you crying?" the voice spoke again, a soft breeze on the girl as she was carried to the destination. Y/N didn't dare to explain, she just hid her face as she put her arms around the boy and hiding her face in his shoulder.

The girl slowly started to doze off until loud creeping interrupted the soft footsteps. Y/N held up her head to look ahead, meeting the familiar big mansion inside. Wait...no.

"No, Ayato take me back! Daddy doesn't want me here!" Y/N tried to struggle loose out of his arms, only to be thrown on the couch. She tried to get off it, her ankle couldn't hold her anymore, it could barely hold a pound if tested. "Ayato!"

"Shut up, baka, I'm helping you," he sighed, rolling his eyes.

"Ayato, I'm sure you can explain all this noise?" a black-haired tall figure appeared, sharp red eyes that locked straight with the E/C eyes of Y/N. "Y/N." Reiji.

His eyes scanned the small body of the girl, eyes falling to her right ankle. When she saw him staring at the small bone, moving her left foot in front of it to hide it. "I'm fine," she looked down at her hands conjoining together.

"Ayato, go get bandages and tell Subaru that his daughter is here," that can't happen.

"Ayato—I mean Ore-Sama, or whatever, please just let me go." Y/N begged in a whisper.

"Ayato, get the two," the harsh voice demanded, Reiji showing no mercy. I don't want it to happen again...please no. All the girl could do was sit there patiently as she prayed nothing would happen. The red-head has already been gone as Reiji walked up to the small figure, kneeling down to her.

"Open your mouth," Y/N was too scared to not listen to the strict male, so she opened her mouth. He pulled down on her chin to open it a little more. He examined the small sharp fangs, making sure the girl was still inhuman.

"Our little vampire returned, aren't you so excited Reiji~," a smooth voice spoke, making her mouth close. Reiji let a sigh escape his mouth, his thump removing from her chin. The black-haired male got up to move out of the way. The little girl's vision moved to the  green-eyed male, his fedora covering most of his hair.

Laito. The new male came closer inch by inch. He put his hands by both of her legs, his face close to hers. "You look so young, Y/N-Chan~," he cooed, his finger lifting up her chin to make her look at him.

SMASH.

"Get your hands off her."

Oh god, have mercy.

Laito whined before backing up away from the innocent girl. Y/N looked down to her hands, not daring to look at her father.

The black-haired male came close to the little girl, kneeling down with a bandage in his hand. "What happened to her!?" the rough voice yelled once again, eyes piercing the bandage in Reiji's hand.

"Subaru, stop yelling," Reiji spoke calmly, unwrapping the roll of bandage.

"Where's Asashi and Sachi!?" the question immediately made her heart stop.

"I broke my ankle trying to save Sachi, Asashi died whenever you threw us out!" she yelled at him, Reiji not showing any reaction as he kept bandaging her ankle. The other two red-heads stood in silence, Subaru trying to show no expression.

Reiji soon finished wrapping her ankle, moving out of the way. Subaru walked to the girl, picking her up bridal-style and teleporting somewhere else. The girl soon was softly laid down on a soft mattress, her head hitting a soft fabric. Subaru sat by her legs, brushing her hair softly.

"Your mad at me, aren't you? You're just gonna throw m-me out ag-again," tears started dwelling in Y/N's eyes, her arms crossed as she looked to the side. Arms wrapped around her neck, pulling her up, her head meeting a chest.

"Stay, just stay, you baka," his head piled on top of hers. Tears softened the fabric that was draped of Subaru.

The girl mumbled a soft hum, remembering Sachi as she cried her heart out. The moment got sweet and gentle, the two didn't let go as she hummed.

Let us start a new life, as a family...
