"Wait, what, you're-"
"Yeah, I am." I said. "But, I thought you used-"
"I did. How is this possible?"
"Maybe it didn't work. It doesn't work all the time, you know."
"Oh, great."
"We're idiots."
"We're parents."
"I'm not going to take care of this baby, Farkle. She, he, whatever the gender, is going to be adopted." He didn't seem happy about this. He had this dumb look on his face as he stared down at my stomach.
"What, what is it?" I asked, staring down at my stomach myself. I looked down and all I saw was a little person inside of me. But I'm not sure what he was a seeing. I looked up and stared at Farkle. He was so cute.
We ran towards each other and he lifted me up. I stared down at his face and we kissed. I liked him so much. Did that mean I liked the baby? Did that me I liked me?
"Riley, what is going on?" I heard Maya whisper. But Farkle and I didn't stop.
"Riley, what, I thought..." Lucas whispered. But Farkle and I didn't stop.
"Farkle! How could you!" Smackle yelled. Farkle then put me back down, we stopped and stared at everybody at the party that was now crowded around us.
"Is this what you're hiding, Riley?" Maya asked, extremely ticked off. "Because the way you yelled at me seemed way more serious than this. Even though this is serious! How could you kiss Farkle at Smackle's party?" I looked at all the horrified faces and then the broken hearted one Smackle wore. I was a horrible person with a dark secret I couldn't even tell my best friend, Maya.
I ran up the stairs and left the party.
*Monday Morning*
The weekend was horrible. At about 9:30, my mother got a call from Smackle's mother. Even though I was laying on my bed, I could hear her through the door. Smackle's mother was on speaker, so I could hear her too.
"Hello?" she began.
"Is this Topanga Matthews?"
"Yes. You're Chelsea Smackle, correct?"
"Yes, I am. I'm calling you to talk about the party-"
"Was it good?"
"It was until your daughter kissed Smackle's boyfriend!"
"What?"
"Smackle was having a great time and then Riley kissed Farkle!" My stomach turned and I knew I was going to puke any minute. I opened the door and saw my mother, red in the face, glaring at me.
"Riley! How could you do that to Smackle?!" my mom yelled in my face. I swallowed the puke down like I did in class.
"Mom, I'm sorry! Farkle picked me up. I had no control! Smackle's mom should be calling Farkle's parents! I couldn't just jump out of his arms!"
"But you didn't pull away?"
"No, I didn't." I said. I then stomped into the bathroom.
The rest of the weekend I spent lying in bed feeling horribly sick. I tried to call everybody but nobody answered, not even Farkle.
On Monday morning, I woke up with a large headache. I woke up at 3:00 because I couldn't sleep. I decided I wanted to take two more pregnancy tests, just to be sure. But I was broke. I opened my door and crack and tiptoed to the kitchen.
My mom's wallet was open on the kitchen table. There was an $100 bill inside. All I needed was $50, but she didn't have $50, so I grabbed the $100. I then turned around and saw Auggie standing there.
"Riley, what are you doing with Mommy's money?"
