The loud noise made everyone's attention go back to the black box.

"W-what was that?"

"Sh*t! that came out of nowhere..."

Some nobles were surprised and some demons started cursing. but as they looked at the black box they understood where the sound came from.

Ed turned around to face the demonic monster before it attack him, but the gap between them was too small he couldn't dodge it...there was no where to go.

He closed his eyes waiting for the impact from the hit to come...but nothing happened?

BANG!

A swift movement from his dagger cut the neck of the demonic monster in one go. He landed on the ground with the monster falling behind him in a dramatic way.

"SIR!" Ed was shocked, he didn't even hear Deon's getting off the carriage or his footsteps...

"Sir Arut!!!" he ran toward Deon in worry, but that was a mistake...because Deon was drunk..

"WHOA!"

"LORD ARUT!"

"SO COOL!!"

"As expected of lord Arut!"

As the demons started cheering for Deon, the emperor wondered if they still don't understand that Deon isn't on their side...well, he isn't even sure if Deon's on his side. but he will find a way to bring him to the human's side soon enough...

"haa.." Ed sighed a sigh of relief, he was truly thankful to his commander for saving his life. when he gets back, he absolutely need to thank sir Arut and get stronger so he doesn't become a bother to sir Arut.

"hmm?" Caver noticed something 'Is Arut drunk? haa, where did he even get the wine now?...'

"Thank you! I was about to request your help- HUK!!" before he could finish his sentence, the tip of the dagger was right Infront of his eyes.

"Are you my opponent as well?"

'Th-this is..! sir Arut's drinking habit..?!' Ed backed away almost immediately. he was taken aback, where did he even get his hands on wine?!

"N-NO, SIR! I AM NOT!"

"...then," his eyes turned to the monsters behind them, with a murderous gaze that made Ed freeze on the spot..."Is he my opponent?"

Before Ed could answer him, the monster hit him right on the head. Ed watched in horror as Deon went flying straight to a wall.

"SIR ARUT!"

Cough!

Blood was coming out of Deon's mouth as he slid down from the wall leaving blood all over it. Ed wasn't sure whether the blood was sir Art's or the monster's...

A few gasps could be heard here an there

Cruel clenched his fists so tight, he was so worried for his younger brother, but he can't show it because of this bastard whose standing next to him...from the corner of his eyes, he could see Duke Illuster trying to cover the smile on his face 'This bastard..!?' Cruel really wanted to rip that smile off his face...

Ririnell wanted to scream and and break that black box to pieces, in fact all the corps commander along with Ed thought the same...but the dark suffocating aura the demon king was emitting made them unable to utter a single word..

"Quiet." Caver said as he gazed at the black box 'What an incompetence bunch of demons..' why would he sign the demons soldiers to Arut if they can't even protect him?...

"...." all the whispers from the nobles and the demons stopped immediately after the demon king's warning.

"would you like to continue the reaction, your majesty?"

Some humans and demons sighed and thanked Violet internally. just as she spook, the tremendous pressure from the demon king faded away.

"Alright, let's continue then.."

"He is, huh?" Deon said with a smile on his face. If a gaze could kill, all the monsters would be dead in an instant...

In a mere second, he jumped on the monster and killed it, cutting it into pieces with his daggers.

'Be Devoured By Madness.'

The other demonic monsters were about to ambush him from the back.
but they weren't fast enough. they got killed instead..

'You Only Need Enough Consciousness To Tell The Enemy Apart...'

One demonic monster after the other fell to the ground...Arut made their struggle looks like a child play.. he made it look so...easy?

But the most terrifying thing was that...he was grinning while killing all the monsters, they could swear they heard his laughter..

"S-so that is..."

"Commander of the zero corps, Demon Arut..."

'Do Not Leave A Whole Corpse Behind...'

'As expected of Arut, he's as brutal and ruthless as ever...' seeing Deon in action made Caver remember their first meeting, when he first landed his eyes on his Arut...he loved it, watching him kill his enemies with no mercy..

The emperor smiled as well, he and Caver were obsessed over Deon's second personality.
'so his second personality comes out when he's drunk, huh? interesting..'

'Is that what he think of while in battle? 'Be Devoured By Madness...?' Jaykar wondered if that's what goes on in Arut's head? 'what made him think that way? and Not To Leave A Whole Corpse Behind...?' all he could say was 'how vicious...'

The other humans and nobles were terrified as they watched the fight...no, it was more like a Massacre more than a fight, the maniac look in his eyes made them shiver in fear..

They all watched as Deon killed and tear the monsters to pieces, some of them couldn't handle it and started vomiting on the floor..

Dan look at the black box with a grin on his face, he was a bit spectacle at first. but now he's sure, after watching Deon mercilessly kill the monsters, he is sure now that he's the perfect disaster...ah, he can't wait until he finally meet him.

"Now It's your turn." he continue to stab the corpse of the demonic monster.

As the rest of the monsters saw him brutally murder their kind, they began to feel true fear...

Deon's plan worked, the monsters started to back away as he laughed maniacally.

"HAHAH!!"

"What a...brilliant plan.." it was indeed a smart plan. make all the monsters feel fear to make them run away...Edellia and Devilania thought the same 'sir Arut is extremely smart and brutal human...'

"Of course! sir Arut is a genius." Ririnell said confidently as Asild agreed with her.

This was the first time watching a battle in action for some of the nobles, and they weren't taking it too well.

"Ahem." Violet's voice rang through the room. making the demons who were cheering for Arut quiet down

"Would you all like to take a break? what do you say your majesties?"

"What a good idea, miss Violet." Eduardo sighed as he looked at the pathetic state of the nobles behind him...he could hear the demons snickering at them. It was really not a good look..

"Thank you uncle..." Elpidius who was comforting his little sister was pale, he thanked his uncle for agreeing to take a break. Allethea wasn't in the best shape either, she looked like she was about to throw up all the cookies she ate at their last break...

"Sure, why not?" Caver in the other hand was so nonchalant about it. He couldn't care less if some of the demons we traumatized or were throwing up on the ground.

"Perfect. I will send some maids to clean up and prepare some warm tea then. please enjoy your break."

I really apologize for the long wait! (and for the short chapter...) I just finished my SAT exam yesterday, and i still have some school exams coming up T-T
