"This is Kira Bolton. She's been here since 7th grade. She'll show you around Nevermore." Nohm introduced. Kira walked towards her roommate, giving a quick look before she looked at her parents who were standing next to the principal.
Kira's back in her dorm to welcome her new roommate. If she'll be honest, she doesn't know what to do. Should she give her cold shoulders? But that's just wrong, right? It's not her fault that Kira will no longer have her solo room. Kira's not the kind of person who do stuff to welcome her roommate. Well to be fair, she never had a roommate... So.
"Kira Bolton, nice to meet you." Yeah, right. Kira reached her hand for a handshake on the parents first before facing her roommate. She may not like interacting but she's not rude.
"Sammy Heathers, Sam for short. It's nice to meet you too!"
Kira made a feeble smile as she looked at her roommate longer. Standing in front of her is a brunette who's taller than her. Brown round eyes, hair that goes above her shoulder, button nose. Kira would be the biggest liar if she say that the girl is not beautiful.
"Kira, why don't you tour Ms. Heathers around the school? Do go to the registrar so she can get her timetables and uniform." Nohm suggested with his tight lip smile.
Kira wanted to roll her eyes in front but good thing she stopped herself. "Sure. Let's go, I'll show you around." Kira said, carrying her backpack again and walking out of the room. Sammy followed behind.
"So, I heard from the principal you're a human too." Sammy started. Now walking beside the ginger.
"Mmh. You too?" Kira nodded and asked.
"Yup. I'm actually glad my roommate's a human. Don't get me wrong, I like all the outcasts, well, good outcasts. But I'm kind of scared of werewolves." Kira's lips twitched as she looked at her roommate who was genuinely scared.
"Well, werewolves are one of the main cliques here in Nevermore. Every full moon they can be loud. I suggest you get noise-cancelling headphones"
"Oh! Already got one."
Kira nodded and continued. "Nevermore was founded in 1791 to educate people like us. There are four halls here in Nevermore. Every hall has a guard, so if you plan to sneak into the other's hall, be alarmed." Kira added.
"Why would I do that? I literally just got here."
"Teens are dumb. They do what is not allowed... I'm just giving a heads up." Kira said as they proceeded to walk. Sammy had something else to say but she just shrugged it off when the ginger continued.
"Do you like interacting?" Odd question. Sammy nodded excitedly and was about to speak but Kira walked fast. "Follow me then."
Not so long, they arrived at the loudest place of Nevermore. "This is the quad... well, it's a pentagon, but they called it that way. Feel free to call it what you want."
"Well, what do you call it then?"
"Unfortunately, I go with the usual."
"So, quad. Got it." Sammy chimed.
Kira just nodded as they walked to the side, looking at the students who were staying there for their free time. It's still lunch and since the quad is connected to the cafeteria, the place is pretty bombed.
"Are you interested in knowing the other cliques?"
"Tell me about it!"
"Okay then. The four main cliques are Furs AKA werewolves." Kira said pointing at the bunch of boys who were playing around the place. "Then there's the Fangs AKA as vampires." Kira trailed. She pointed at the group of vampires who were having their daily blood bag.
"Please tell me that's just tomato juice." Sammy whimpered. Pure terror was written on her face.
"Mhm. It's actually animal blood. The school provides it." Kira answered. "Next one is Scales AKA sirens. They also have a choir club but I believe it's mainly sirens. Are you into music?"
"Heck, yeah! I saw your guitar and keyboard in our dorm. Maybe we could jam some other time!"
"Maybe." Kira shrugged. "Lastly, the Stoners AKA gorgons." Kira finished. She pointed at the group of students wearing beanies.
"Wow! You know a lot. Do you mind introducing me to your friends?"
Oh.
Kira's about to say that she doesn't have friends when someone suddenly comes to them.
"Kibs!" A boy appeared beside Kira.
"Kibs?" Sammy asked amusedly. "That's cool, can I call you that too?"
"I—"
"You're a new student? I'm Xavier, Kibs' captain in archery." Xavier introduced. Kira looked at the two as she realized she was being towered by them.
"No way! You do archery too?! I knew you were pretty cool!" Sammy exclaimed.
"Right? She actually just joined me today. But she said she's been doing it since five." Kira sent him a dirty look. Did he really need to say that? Like, he's not wrong but is it necessary? "I assume you do archery too. You can join my club, Kibs will show you the place. Fair warning, Kibs is my first member."
"And this is the first day we talked," Kira said. She pulled the boy by the arm to lower him down a bit before she whispered. "And yet you act as if we're friends."
"I'm just promoting my club." Xavier shrugged.
"Whatever, we're actually in the middle tour. Would you mind?" Kira said. She narrowed her eyes, silently telling the boy to back off.
"Okay, see you around then. I'll expect you two in my club." Xavier said before leaving the quad.
"Where is he going?" Sammy asked.
"Ignore him. He likes to be alone."
"Are you sure?" Sammy mumbled as they continued to walk.
"Yes. Now if you—"
"Hey, Kira!"
The two looked at the voice. Kira's about to snap but she was stopped when she saw the little miss famous werewolf of Nevermore. Kira stepped back. Unconsciously pulling her roommate with her.
"Why?" Sammy whispered, alarmed.
"She's a werewolf," Kira whispered back. But that's no use, thanks to enhanced hearing, Enid heard their not-so-conversation. Sammy's face turned pale as she clutched tightly at the ginger. This act didn't go unnoticed by the werewolf. A loud snarl came from the werewolf which made the two step back and fall in a defensive position.
"Mommy!" Sammy whimpered.
Enid snapped back. She looked at the two in confusion before it hit her. "Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you two!" She clasped her hands and brought them to her forehead as she bowed several times.
Kira and Sammy looked at each other.
"I just want to make friends! I'm Enid Sinclair, it's nice to meet you two!" Enid beamed.
When the two finally calmed down. Kira cleared her throat as she faced Enid. "Enid. This is my new roommate. Sammy Heathers. She's new here so apologies, she's kinda scared of... werewolves."
"Just her? I'm pretty sure I saw that you were about to beat me." Enid chuckled.
Sammy scratched her nape. She offered a hand to Enid but the werewolf spread her arms. "Welcome to Nevermore!" She hugged the new girl.
Sammy looked back at Kira asking a help but it was not necessary since the werewolf let go only to face Kira. "And nice to finally meet you." Enid excitedly said but Kira halted back. "Oh. Not a hugger?" Kira shook her head. "Fine with me. Do you need help with the tour? I can help you." Enid sent a wink at the ginger, completely forgetting the other girl.
"Uhh, no need. I'm sure your friends are waiting for you." Kira said. She looked at the certain group who'd been looking at them. Well more like at Kira.
"Okay. I'll see you two around!" The two girls watched the blonde werewolf skip back to her friends. That's only when Sammy was able to let go of her breathing.
"Wow, she's the most friendly werewolf I've ever met!" Sammy exclaimed. "I'm confused though. What does she mean that it's finally nice to meet you? Is she a new student too?"
"No. She's been here the same year as me. We just don't see each other around."
"In this small school?" Sammy asked, not believing the ginger. "I mean, it's big but it's not that big for you guys to not see each other...And why her friends staring at us?"
"Let's just go get your timetables and uniform," Kira suggested not saying more words as she walked back inside the school.

During fencing class, Kira and Sammy went to their dorm to change. Sammy didn't stop telling Kira about the place where she came from. Kira just continued to listen. She just knew by the end of the day, she'll be passing out on her bed.
"How about you? Tell me about yourself." Sammy said as they left their dorm to go to their fencing class.
"Uhh, well, I was adopted by a vampire couple five years ago in Bucharest. Then we moved here a year later. That's when they enrolled me here." Kira shortly said. Kira doesn't really remember when was the last time she talked to someone and gives them information about herself even if it's just a bit of information. There's just something about Sammy that makes it easier to accept the new girl's presence. And she did not lie. She did meet her posed parents, who are vampires, in Bucharest five years ago.
Sammy noticed that the girl purposedly avoided her life before she was adopted so she didn't press her. "Woah~ Are they going to be here in parents weekend? Principal Nohm said there's parents weekend." Kira nodded. "That's sick! I'm pretty sure they are the coolest vampires."
"How so?"
"Well, they adopted you even if you're not one. I'm glad they didn't turn you into one." Sammy joked. Kira chuckled lightly at that. Sometimes, it crosses her mind too. But those couple are the most harmless vampires she knows.
As they got to the fencing hall there was a certain group Kira noticed. Great! The gang is here. Standing in the corner with the blonde werewolf was the girl who had a different uniform than the rest.
"Woah. Why she's in black?" Sammy whispered. Feeling that someone was talking about her, Wednesday turned her gaze to the two students who just entered. Kira averted her gaze and pulled Sammy to the vacant mats.
"Do you fence?" Kira asked, changing the topic.
"Yup! You?" Kira nodded making the brown-eyed girl smile in amusement. "You know so much things! You keep on impressing me, Ms. Bolton."
"Kibs!" The two turned their heads. Kira rolled her eyes as she sighed harshly while Xavier skipped to them. Let's just say it's not just her roommate who saw Kira's reaction. From the same corner, the werewolf and goth watched the three.
"Xavier, you fence too?" Sammy asked.
"Yup. Glad we have a class together. Is it fine if I ask you for a match? No one wants to challenge an elitist snob." Xavier nudged the ginger but she just continued glaring at him.
"I'm already paired with Sammy."
"Oh, it's fine!" Sammy dismissed. "I want to see how you do it first. At least if you rub someone on the floor I won't be the first one." Sammy said to Kira and chuckled.
"Well let's find out." The psychic boy shrugged.
As they went in the middle, the coach noticed Kira.
"Kira Bolton. I'm glad you finally included my class in yours."
The others looked at each other baffled, more specifically Wednesday's group.
"Weems always mention that you're good at fencing. I'm glad I'll get to see it now." That's right. Though Kira knows fencing, she didn't bother to join the special class. She didn't want to until now but that's because Nohm decided for her and included the fencing class as her additional since Kira didn't join any clubs and special classes for four years. Not that she needed though.
"Not gonna lie, I'm starting to regret the challenge now," Xavier whispered.
"You should," Kira said as she marched to her spot to wear the mask.
Meanwhile, at the side, the students were watching including Wednesday's group.
"Ten bucks, Kira will win," Ajax said.
"Tsk. That's easy. Anyone can win against Xavier." Yoko scoffed.
"Huh. I'm surprised coach knows her." Bianca nodded.
"Sammy!" Enid called. The brunette walked to the group and smiled at them. "Guys, this is Sammy Heathers. She's Kira's roommate." Enid introduced then did the same to her friends.
"Nice to meet you guys. Just call me Sam."
"So tell us, how's Kira as a roommate?" Ajax asked. Resting his elbow to Enid's shoulder.
"Oh. I'm actually new here. I just met her this lunch." Sammy smiled only to drop it when she realized something. "Why, don't you guys know her?" She asked puzzlingly.
"We just actually learned about her a few days ago. We barely seen her around the school."
Sammy frowned as she looked at the others who were nodding. Suddenly they were interrupted when they heard a clank.
"Point to Kira." The coach announced.
"That was fast." Yoko winced.
They looked at Kira who was barely bothered while Xavier looked at her in amusement.
"Woah."
"Come on Xavier, don't get rub too fast. I don't wanna go next yet!" Sammy chuckled.
The psychic boy snickered, shaking his head.
"If you don't want to, then I do." All their heads turned to a certain goth who was wearing a black uniform. "I challenge you, Bolton."
"Not again!" Enid grunted.
