| Remember the scene in FIREBIRD with Cleo Fox and Emma in the Hancock County Courthouse? Here it is but in a CS version. (It will continue next chapter)

These two chapters gave me so much feels|

The distance between his bus stop and his house was way shorter than hers.
She had been at his house before, only seen his kitchen and living room though.

"Okay, I think we could write down what we think of the book and then just study each other's paper."

"Or, we could tell each other what we think about the book and the other writes it down."

"You always like to make it harder for me don't you?"

"I love it."

He loved pushing her limits.
Crumble all those walls down.

When he went upstairs to grab some pens and papers and the book, she really didn't know if she was supposed to follow him, so she just stayed downstairs pretending to look for something in her school bag.

"You hungry?" He asked her when he came back.

"No.. Thanks."
She was hungry, but it was his house.
She didn't want to be a burning.

She listened to him prepare a toast while she looked through the pages of the book.

Finally, he sat in front of her, a plate of four deliciously good-looking toasts between them.

"Well then... Do you wanna go by chapters?" She asked and looked up at him to see him taking a bite. "You have butter around your lips." She chuckled.

He took a napkin and cleaned it off.

"These two are for you."

"I said I didn't-"

"I've seen how hungry you are after school, Swan. Just have them." He told her.

She rolled her eyes taking one in her hands. Gosh, she really needed this.

---

"What? You drive?!"

"Why? Do I have a non-driver face?" He laughed.

"Well you go to school and go home by bus." She said as she sat on the seat next to him.

"Yeah... This is Liam's car. And I haven't been exactly a fan of driving since..." he stopped a little to buckle up or maybe becauseĀ  the subject was just too hard for him "...since I almost killed myself because of my childish attitudes."

He started the engine and the car was out of the garage quickly.

"I don't think that's childish at all. Elsa told me what happened."

"Emma, have you ever gotten drunk and had like a real hangover?" His voice tone didn't sound like a mocking one with that question.

"Not really."

"That's my point. You've been through a lot. I almost died because I was too weak."

Should she tell him that she had already ran away multiple times and slept in the streets, completely exposed to any kind of danger?

"Well I didn't really had the opportunity to. You know, systems don't really give away alcohol and overprotective or just selfish foster parents don't really let you go out on nights." She tried to comfort him.

She didn't agree that he had been weak. Everyone has the right to go down for once.
Mistakes are made to make us learn.

"Killian?"

"Hum?"

"I received a mail from the Interstate Record Finder and they told me they had found possessions that belong to me found when they found me and that they have been in a warehouse all this time in the hospital. Do you have any idea what that means? I could find my parents. It will be a new lead! It could be a bracelet, a letter- Killian, if it is a letter..."

"They didn't tell you what kind of possessions are?"

"No. I have to go pick them up at Hancock County Courthouse because they need my signature. My file is there. They surely know my parents- I just.... I was wondering if you could take me there. Only if you want it. Only if you can. I'm not obligating anything-"

He chuckled and the difference between his relaxed mood and her nervous one made her stop talking.

"You're finally asking me something that you want."

"Look what's the matter? I just don't like to give work to others and I really, really need this."

"It's called favors, and you do them because you like the person, Swan."

She sighed and layed her head on her window's door, not really understanding if he was indeed or not going to drive her there and not having the guts to ask him again.

"Of course I'd take you there." He said lowly, and it was like he had read her thoughts. She turned her face to look at him and he did the same, smirking at her when he saw her surprised face. "You're free tomorrow?" He asked her.

"It doesn't have to be tomorrow."

"Well the sooner the better, isn't it right? You've waited 17 years for answers, it's time you get them."

The thing was, she had received this e-mail a month ago. She didn't want to go with Regina or David and she knew if she told them, they'd want to go with her.
She didn't know what possessions were waiting for her there.
She didn't know how she'd react when she'd see them.

---

"It's here." She said, looking through the window and lowering her head to see the high building. "I'll be quick."

"Wait-" he said right in time before she could open her door. "Look, I know you told me you wanted me to take you because you wanted to be alone for it."

"Seriously Killian you can stay her-"

"You don't know what you'll find there. Look, Emma." he sighed and brought his hand to the head of her seat. "I can be there, just in case something happens."

She wanted to say no.
She wanted to turn her back to him and get out of the car and never answer him.

But she couldn't just ignore him.

"Okay." she quickly said and finally opened the car door, heading to the building without waiting for him.

Her hands were shaking and her heart was beating fast.
Thoughts of numerous theories of what the possessions awaiting for her could be.

If it was a letter... Gods she would finally find her real parents! She would finally understand why would they abandon her, why would they not want her.
Or a bracelet? A necklace? Those sentimental accessories, something that she could search for the origin, where her parents had bought it.

There could've been a note with me that was dropped into the file, something, anything.

She heard the foot steps behind her, him, speeding up a bit to catch her and she held the door open for him.

The two were welcomed with a tone of white walls, agents passing by them and a big desk at the entrance.

"Emma Swan, I was informed I have belongings?"

"Of course, please wait a few minutes."

"Thanks."

She looked back at him who was still looking around the new room, still a bit out of breath because of the running and she touched his arm mentioning him to sit down in the chairs that were against the wall.
